her team is ON IT this time.....

This is very Beyonce and Ariana but still being Madonna. Sounds like that closer on B’s Lemonade (not specifically but just the feeling of it closing the album) and the verse melody reminds me of some Ariana track ...not to bring them up but just saying it’s fresh and current enough to appeal to an audience that may ignore her but still, it’s beautiful and well done well beyond these girls skills...and the video is gorgeous.

Bruce Springsteen has 11.no.1 albums on Billboard 200 albums chart after the Beatles with 13 no. 1 albums.

He has strong fan bases in rhe US, his albums sell many.

Exactly. He’s a legend in his own right and American society will buy this safe record over M’s. Sad but true. We can all buy our copies and hope for the best but at least she’s up against someone who really is SOMEONE and not Taylor or Nicki or any of these shit acts...🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

is there something I need to do to get this on my iTunes because it isn't working-unless it's because I'm in USA and I have to wait until midnight???

Yes, it becomes available at midnight tonight in the USA.

I am intrigued when people say it’s a cross between Ghosttown and Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You!  I love both of those songs, but I think of Devil as more of a midtempo and Ghosttown a classic ballad in the mold of her 90s work.

It’s more midtempo than ballad and I love it! Listening now and those Bjork strings melt my soul. Dubtronic can you make a mix with both songs?!! I can hear certain elements in Bjork’s song (specifically the ending outro) working in I Rise!!!

I Rise is getting much more love on Twitter than Medellin did when it came out.

Wonder how YouTube is gonna react.

Speaking of which, i wish she would release a lyrics video for these promo singles - especially if she wants to reclaim her throne in non-English speaking countries.

That might be my only quibble about this otherwise flawless era so far. 🙂

Agreed. Cool lyric videos are so easy. All she needs is to hire a creative team to make them and go wild with concepts ...I loved Cher’s lyrics video and most recently Dido’s Hurricane lyric video is awesome. It would help the album for sure and we’d have new visuals (even if she’s not in them)

I'm not an expert but I don't think it is likely??

Because the number of views are less than the music videos last week (and it didn't chart then).

Yeah, it’s completely stalled on iTunes USA at 53 so it probably sold like 3 copies after the performance. It would need to be in the top ten for a full week (IMO) and have like 10x’s the amount of views/audio streams to even crack the top 200 apparently

His last question was so smartly asked! He presented her with 3 songs she's never performed live, gave her a good reason (they were all top 10's on the charts) and politely asked her if she'd consider singing at least one of them. And he, at the very least, planted the seed for Rescue Me!

That must have been Matthew Rettenmund, right? We are so lucky to have him as a journalist for Billboard. Not only is he a fan, he's a smart, analytical fan and it's one of the only ways to see her get asked interesting, relevant questions. Everyone else asks her questions about her kids or her exercise routine, so this interview was awesome. I hope she talks to someone at Rolling Stone for this album, they have a decent track record (not perfect, but decent) for asking good questions about the music.

Definitely not Matthew but good interviewer who respects and loves her!

Bill, at least she charts somewhere else besides Top 100. She just got 3 #1s on Latin charts. Next month she’ll get her album debut on BB200. Medellín is still climbing on Dance Club Songs chart to be her 47th #1!

M can’t beat TS, Ariana or even BTS anymore. We’ll just have to accept the fact and move on.

Where is it on the dance charts?
