Just noticed that the Deluxe Version of Celebration is back in the top 20 of the Danish iTunes Albums Chart.. It has probably been there for a few days, I just didn't notice until now.
So the Copenhagen show did manage to promote one of M's albums, but not the one it was supposed to promote.

Current top 13 predictions
Girl Gone Wild
Gang Bang
I Don't Give A
Express Yourself
Give Me All Your Luvin'
Turn Up the Radio
Open Your Heart / Sagarra jo!
Masterpiece
The Erotic Candy Shop
Like a Virgin
I'm Addicted
Like a Prayer
Celebration
So far, voters predict the entire second act to be included. This wouldn't be the first time that an entire section was included, as the entire first act of the Sticky & Sweet Tour (apart from the intro) was included on the S&S live CD
Only few voters think that the CD track list will feature any interludes, though "Nobody Knows Me" appears to be the most popular choice.

Interesting to hear that some don't listen to her live albums. I rarely hear She's Not Me, Beat Goes On, Devil..., Mother and Father, etc. in the original form anymore.
Same goes for me. I hardly ever listen to the album versions of songs such as Music, Paradise (Not for Me), Gone, American Life, Mother and Father, I Love New York, Jump, Candy Shop, 4 Minutes, Devil Wouldn't Recognize You and Spanish Lesson.
The reason is simples: I think the tour versions (studio or live) are much better. They aren't always that much different, but usually have that little extra something that some of the album versions are missing.
As for MDNA, I prefer the tour versions over the album versions of especially Girl Gone Wild, Turn Up the Radio and Masterpiece.
How I hope that someday, we'll hear (proper) live performances of Love Spent, Voices, Love Profusion and Easy Ride..
-
I simply don't get why M's tour interludes are usually much better than her actual music videos
*sigh*
Thanks for sharing the link

I actually listen to the IGTTYAS CD alot, well that's only cause RIT was never out on DVD.
So do I, though I usually just rip the audio from the DVDs. But I also have an audio rip of the leaked Lisbon show.

So we'll probably get 2 weeks of radio/video airplay before they drop the single/remixes.
MadonnaTribe previously confirmed that the new remixes would be released to iTunes on the day of the video premiere, in mid-July.
Maybe Interscope/Universal/Live Nation changed their minds?
Video and radio debut in 10 days' time, remixes on 5 August?
-
From the past 3 tours, we got live CDs, and nothing seems to change for the MDNA Tour in this respect.
The IGTTYAS, CT and S&S live CDs all featured live recordings of 13 performances.
Based on previous live CDs released by Madonna, we should expect the MDNA Tour live CD to include 5-7 MDNA songs, 4-6 oldies and at least one video interlude.
I assume that "The Prayer Overture: Act of Contrition", "Girl Gone Wild" and "Celebration" are given - but which other songs do you think will be included?
-
Like most other, I think the show will be shot in a stadium with multiple shows.
This leaves these options:
Yankee Stadium, New York City
Foro Sol, Mexico City
Estàdio do Morumbi, Sao Paulo
River Plate Stadium, Buenos Aires - unlikely; the Sticky & Sweet DVD was filmed there
An Australian venue

The photo posted above by Gutten was apparently taken about half an hour before M went on stage, according to mmasmusic21 in the Tribe forum, who saw the helicopter flying over the stadium when he went to the bar from the Golfen Triangle at about 10 pm.
The photo in the right lower corner of the montage below, from klorinhaxa.wordpress.com, was taken during the intro of the show, as M was entering the stage:
As unbeliveable as it may sound, I think that the reports of only 23,000 people attending the show may have been accurate, even though Live Nation Sweden confirmed that about 40,000 tickets were sold.
-
why do you guys focus so much on reviews?
Let's face it: Madonna doesn't have enough hardcore fans in Scandinavia to sell-out stadium shows up here.
And if one tour gets generally negative reviews, selling tickets to casual fans who didn't see or didn't like the show will become much more difficult for the next tour.
Considering that the Gothenburg show didn't reach its technical sell-out, as confirmed by the CEO of Live Nation Sweden, and that the Copenhagen show only barely managed to do so, I'm afraid that the next tour will skip Scandinavia altogether.
However, if Madonna does skip Scandinavia on her next tour, it's likely that it will be easier for her to sell ticket for what would be her last tour under her current Live Nation contract, in 5 or 6 years' time.

Just read Jyllands-Postens review of the show, which is actually quite positive, giving it a 4/6 rating.
"The show was different from anything the 53-year-old American previously did in Denmark. Respect for that."
"The show was heavy on songs from the MDNA album, which has flopped commercially, despite several positive reviews. And you could tell that most of the people in the audience obviously didn't know or like particularly many of the songs."
"She lipsynched a few songs, but during most of the show, she was singing live, almost note-perfect throughout."
The reviewer points out the Majorette/Basque segment as the highlight of the show, along with "Like a Prayer" and "Celebration".

well thats bull
whats up with this MDNA bashing? the bloody album got excellent reviews
Maybe by most English-language media, but here in Scandinavia, press reviews of the MDNA album were mixed to negative.
Personally, I don't let press reviewers dictate my music taste, but quite a few people do... :-(
maybe it has something to do with the media's love of lady gags??? true, they have always bashed madonna for thirty years, but not like this, at every moment they can.....and that huge stage cuts off most of that 60,000...and yes, lazy ass mutha fuckin journalism at its finest.
Compared to Born This Way, MDNA received rave reviews by Scandinavian press reviewers..
-
maybe the have moved the stage forward to make it look less empty?
No, they didn't do that. The stage was set up at the same spot as the Sticky & Sweet stage was 3 years ago.

I don't understand Swedish but the report below may be saying only 23,000 attended the show?
It seems pretty packed to me, and other reports confirmed 40,000 people at the Ullevi, which seems more reasonable!
Yes, I saw that too. Aftonbladet's reviewer said that only 23,000 people attended the show, but Live Nation Sweden confirmed to Expressen that about 40,000 tickets were sold (not enough for a technical sell-out).
I know that quite a few scalpers were so desparate to sell their tickets that they reduced their prices by up to 80%, but I'd have a hard time believing that almost half of the tickets sold were bought by scalpers.
And if "regular" people bought tickets and later decided not to go due to the bad reviews, they didn't have a clue about what they were missing.

the pictures are great!!! and did she sing Beautiful killer?
From what I've heard, she did "B-Day Song" with altered lyrics during sound check as one of the dancers was celebrating his birthday.

Just read a tweet this morning saying that TUTR is released August 5th. I think that's too late for the UK as she's been and gone but might good for other countries.
5 months after the 2nd single is far too long. "Turn Up the Radio" should be released as soon as possible, IMO.
It has also been confirmed that "Masterpiece" will be oficially released as the 3rd German single on 13 July.

Hallands Nyheter says that performance- and production-wise, the show was very good, but they don't understand the song choices. Apparently, Like a Prayer was the only real crowd-pleaser; throughout most of the show, the people in the audience looked as if they were falling asleep.
-
Madonna went on stage at 10.30 p.m., making it the latest concert to have ever taken place at Ullevi.
Aftonbladet's reviewer, who the Copenhagen show very negatively, thinks that last night's show in Gothenburg was much better.
Anders Nunstedt of Expressen, hasn't reviewed the show as such, says that there were 40,000 people in the audience.
He did a live blog, though, revealing that he doesn't like the MDNA Tour versions of Hung Up, Open Your Heart or Like a Virgin. And doesn't understand the inclusion of Gang Bang or I Don't Give A. But he liked Vogue and Like a Prayer.
Gaffa gave a very positive 5/6 review of the show. With emphasis on 'show'. Their reviewer thinks that the setlist generally works well, and that the MDNA songs sound much better on stage than on the record.

I've seen it being referred to as "The Erotic Candy Shop", but I don't know whether that's an official name - we'll see when the tour book drops
The tour book does indeed refer to it as "The Erotic Candy Shop"

The performance works perfectly fine. In fact, in Copenhagen, "Turn Up the Radio" and "I Don't Give A" were among the MDNA songs that were received the best by the audience.

In concert tours, the role of the Creative Producer is typically to select the key members of the creative team, including directors, producers, production designers and choreographers.
The Show Director creates the overall concept and manages the arts, effects and props used for the show, which includes distributing the funds available among different production departments. He or she is ultimately responsible for the quality of the final creative work.
In other words, it was Jamie King who decided that Michel Laprise of Cirque du Soleil should direct the show. If anything, he was promoted rather than degraded.
