  1. She ll do it after australian dates. I m sure.

Due to the climate, most of South East Asia would be best to tour from November-February, so an Asian leg right after the Australian one would be interesting.

However, I fear that M will be completely worn out by the time she reaches Australia. So I'd prefer for her to have a break.

That would collide with the South East Asian hot season, but she also did 2 Abu Dhabi shows at the hottest time of the year.

    As Madonna would say:

If you can't stand the heat, get off my street!

  2. Papa Don't Preach (live but sometimes I question if it is)

    Hung Up (is it live?)

    I Don't Give A (chorus mimed)

Express Yourself (live with assisted back-up vocals)

I'm Addicted (I'm not too sure about this. Seems a bit mimed)

Papa Don't Preach is definitely live - at one of the recent shows, she forgot the lyrics.

Hung Up is most likely fully lipped.

I Don't Give A is live, but with pre-recorded backing vocals during the chorus.

    Express Yourself is 100% live.

I'm Addicted is live, possibly with pre-recorded backing vocals in some parts

  3. Lady Gaga is number one above M? Not sure I'm reading your comment correctly, Where did you see that from Live Nation? All indications are that M is doing more than double Lady Gaga, correct? I googled this but can't seem to find any stats.

Can someone clarify this for me. She is beating Lady Germ, Right?

Lady Gaga is currently #1 on the Concert Sales Box Score chart, since her 5 shows in Melbourne groosed $8,169,642, while M's 2 shows in Abu Dhabi grossed "only" $8,053,500.

But overall, M is beating Lady Gaga by a comfortable margin:

    M grossed almost $ 50M from 14 shows, Gaga grossed less than $ 24M from 15 shows.

  4. TUTR video on Monday, 30 sec preview tomorrow!

    http://www.madonnatr...rticle&sid=7331

The video for the new Madonna single "Turn Up The Radio" will premiere on VEVO next Monday, July 16, MadonnaTribe can report.

When we broke the news about tje plans to shoot the new video during a break of her MDNA tour schedule in the time lap between Florence and Barcelona, we exclusively reported that post production and editing was expected to take roughly four weeks and that we should expect the new video to drop in mid July, right in the middle of the European tour dates.

    And here it comes!

The new video will premiere on Monday but you should also expect a 30 sec preview to drop as soon as tomorrow, Friday 13th.

Turn up the radio until the speakers blow!

  5. I don't understand why U2 grosses nearly double M's tours.

On their latest tour, they played only stadiums. And with their 360 setup, they had a much larger average attendance per show.

Furthermore, they made subtantial changes to the setlist between different legs of the tour, and never play the exactly same setlist two nights in a row.

The length of their tours is another factor. In 2012, Madonna will do 87 shows over the span of 7 months. In comparison, on their latest tour, U2 did 110 shows over the span of 2 years: they had a 9-month break after the 2nd leg, 2-month breaks after the 3rd and 4th legs, and 1-month breaks after the 5th and 6th legs.

  6. I think that she might've sold more for a particular date(s), but as long as the expected number is met, then that's what's reported. I think that happened in Russia for SST. There were 50-55kk people there, but the box office number was less than 30k probably because that's the expected sell out number.

I think Madonna and Live Nation's egoes wouldn't allow them to post lower-than-actual sales figures.

However, that would explain the low box office numbers of, for instance, Copenhagen and Berlin.

I've already accounted for Copenhagen, but Berlin is another case: the arena was packed on both nights, and with a capacity of 17,000, a total attendance of 25,000 for two shows seems very low.

  7. Ok..and how many shows she s going to play? With australia dates? (i belive there will be japan, pacific and some asian dates to) is it possible that she ll play something aroun 120 shows? :D am i crazy?

I don't think she'll do much more than 100 shows in total, unless the tour is extented with a fifth leg in the summer of 2013.

Even if she does do 120 shows, she'll still need an average gross per show of more than $ 6 million in order to break U2's record.

But in my book, beating her own record would be sufficient. :)

  8. Should I be surprised that Gothenburg was a technical sell-out when less than half of the 75,000 tickets were sold?

I'm also surprised that Copenhagen sold less than 30,000 - on the day before the show, the CEO of Live Nation Denmark told Danish press that they expected the show to sell about 40,000 tickets. And while queueing, I was told by a Live Nation official that they had sold 36,000 tickets.

  9. The Dragonette version is alot more bland than Madonna's. But I guess that's why they are Dragonette and she is Madonna!

Dragonette!?!? You mean there's a third version of "Turn Up the Radio" that we haven't heard yet?

Or are you simply confusing them with Sunday Girl (Jade Williams), who co-wrote the song and recorded the original demo?

  10. For the next tour she should go the Confessions way ... mostly arenas with a few stadiums here and there, not the other way round.

    That or skip stadiums completely.

Doing a mainly-stadiums tour with an arena-sized stage should be forbidden!

Unfortunately, at the moment, Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning is the only Danish arena that is big enough to be considered for a Madonna show.

All other indoor arenas in Denmark have concert capacities of 10,000 or less.

  11. omg how many staduims u guys got! and just how big is sweden for all these staduims!??! lol i love sweden though

For a country with 9.5 million inhabitants, Sweden has MANY stadiums. These are the biggest:

    Ullevi, Gothenburg - 43,000 (75,000 for concerts)

    Råsunda, Stockholm - 36,600

    Swedbank Stadion, Malmö - 25,000

    Gamla Ullevi, Gothenburg - 18,800

    Nya Parken, Norrköping - 17,200

    Olympia, Helsingborg - 17,000

    Borås Arena, Borås - 17,000

    Söderstadion, Stockholm - 15,600

Örjans Vall, Halmstad - 15,000 (27,200 for concerts)

Behrn Arena, Örebro - 14,500 (22,500 for concerts)

Stockholms Stadion, Stockholm - 14,400 (32,000 for concerts)

    Under construction

Friends Arena, Stockholm - 53,000 (67,500 for concerts)

    Tele2 Arena, Stockholm - 30,000 (40,000 for concerts)

However, Råsunda and Söderstadion will be demolished once Friends Arena and Tele2 Arena, respectively, have opened.

  12. that is a huge difference though in capacity

and if she did sell 40,000 with one show, why bother with mulitiple shows at a 16,000 arena seater

I completely forgot about the Tele2 Arena, also in Stockholm, which is under construction and will be opened in July 2013.

It's a stadium with a retractable roof and a concert capacity of 40,000.

Another potential Swedish venue would be Swedbank Stadion in Malmö, a stadium with a concert capacity of 30,000.

She could easily sell out 2 shows there if she skips Denmark, as Malmö is located only 30 kilometres form Copenhagen.

  13. Speaking of Denmark:

If Madonna doesn't skip Denmark entirely on her next tour, I think she'll perform at CASA Arena in Horsens, a stadium with a concert capacity of 20,000-30,000, depending on the setup.

She could also easily sell out 2 shows at Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning, an indoor arena with a capacity of 15,000, where Kylie Minogue opened her Aphrodite Les Folies tour.

  14. Stockholm seems like a better choice (with a different schedule though) because she had played Gothenburg during the last tour and she played to nearly 120k people. Maybe she'll skip Sweden next time, or play Stockholm.

If she ends up playing in Stockholm on the next tour, there'll be 2 potential venues: The 67,500 capacity Friends Arena (largest stadium in the Nordics, with a retractable roof) and the 16,000 capacity Ericsson Globe.

She performed in the latter in 2000, at the MTV EMAs.

  15. Of course it would look better spread out over 3 arena shows instead of 1 stadium that didn't look full, but given her schedule this time, it probably wouldn't work out.

She did have two days off after the Gothenburg show, so a 2nd Swedish date would easily have fitted into the schedule.

She could easily have sold out two shows at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm (16,000) or Malmö Arena in Malmö (15,500).

The Ericsson Globe would probably be the better choice, as Malmö Arena is located only 30 minutes from Copenhagen.
