  1. no one else finds it super odd that she is filming the tour so early! how long does 3D take to make!!!! lol

It is unlike Madonna.. all of her most recent tour have been filmed towards the end.

But during both the BAT and TGS, she filmed shows in the beginning of the tour: Istanbul and Yokohama, respectively.

As for 3D, pre-production of U2's U2 3D film started in early 2004, more than a year before the actual Vertigo Tour even started. Principal photography was done in February 2006 - they shot 7 of the 8 Latin American shows of the tour, filming with up to 18 digital 3D cameras simultaneously.

The editing process took 1½ years...

In comparison, Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite Les Folies: Live In London was filmed over 2 nights - it was first aired 3 months after it had been filmed, even before the tour had ended.

  2. Awwww. :( I was hoping that the official DVD for this tour be filmed in North America, in New York, Los Angeles, or Toronto.

If I recall correctly, the only concert DVD she ever filmed in North America was for the DWT.

The Virgin Tour was filmed in Detroit - but technically, you're right since that one was never released on DVD ;)

  3. Didnt TGS get filmed over 2 nights and the one on the DVD was a backup show and the show that was meant to be on the DVD it rained so they couldn't use it? Or am I thinking of the wrong tour? loool

The one on the DVD was indeed a backup show - the show that was meant to be on the DVD was cancelled due to a heavy storm.

  4. Nicki Minaj performed in the Phillippines 3 days ago and is scheduled to kick off the US leg of her Pink Friday Tour on Monday - I don't think she's really in Paris.

EDIT: Nicki Minaj ended the European leg of her tour only 3 days before the show in the Phillippines - so it could be happening after all.

  5. well that is good to know! only one problem remains then: it's in Herning

George Michael, Elton John, Rihanna and Lady Gaga have all performed sold-out shows at Jyske Bank Boxen - if they can, so can Madonna.

However, it would make more sense to do CASA Arena in Horsens.

  6. I don't think MDNA tour is arena sized, i was afraid to go to my first stadium concert in Coimbra, and i thought it was as close as Bercy, from the stand up parts at least

Considering that the stage fits inside arenas such as Barcelona's Palau Sant Jordi, Berlin's O2 World and Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome, it's clearly an arena-sized stage.

An proper stadium stage wouldn't have fitted into any of those arenas.

  7. Following Madonna's Copenhagen show on 2 July, Celebration has re-entered the Danish Top 40 Album Chart at #22, almost 3 years after its initial release. :)

have any of the Danes here been to Jyske Bank Boxen? how's the sound? being the primary fault of Parken, that would be the big draw for me if I were to go

I've never been there, but everyone I know who's been there says the acoustics are quite good.

  8. I don't know why Madonna never used Offer Nissim before. However, he has done unofficial remixes of Hung Up, Isaac, Jump, Beat Goes On, She's Not Me and Like a Prayer.

His biggest-selling original production remains Dana International's "Diva", the winning song of the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest.

Btw, this is Offer Nissim (in the middle) - he's 48:

  9. Is the Southeast Asian weather different during April/May/June than during January/February/March?

It's hot and humid throughout the year. March/April/May are generally the hottest months, while November/December/January are the coolest.

If she goes to South East Asia any later than April, her visit will coincide with the wet season, which lasts from May-October.

  10. By the way- Why do all big artists do Ullevi in Gothenburg whenever they go to Sweden? I thought Stockholm has a highest population in the Kingdom?

Because Ullevi is the highest-capacity stadium in Sweden.

Similarly, in the mid-00s, all foreign acts coming to Denmark did their gigs in Horsens.

  11. Weren't the stage setups for the CT and for the S&ST relatively arena-sized as well?

They were - so the MDNA Tour stage isn't any worse in this respect.

However, for the Confessions Tour, Madonna still did mainly arena shows, though she a third of the European shows and all of the Japan shows were stadium gigs.
