Congratulations on your first time back to your office! This is the way to do things properly unlike other countries that have dealt with (and still are) the health emergency recklessly

    Thanks 😃

Most of my colleagues have opted to keep working from home 2-3 days a week for the next few months, but I need an ergonomically correct workstation, which I don't have at home.

Btw, the Danish government just announced a partial reopening of our borders. From 15 June, Denmark will open its borders to tourists from Iceland, Germany and Norway if they can prove that they have booked a minimum of six nights at at a hotel, holiday house or campside outside Copenhagen. Tourists from Finland and Sweden will most likely be allowed to enter Denmark later this summer, but tourists from other countries won't be allowed to enter Denmark until 31 August at the very earliest.

Similarly, Danish authorities no longer advice against travelling to non-urban areas in Iceland, Germany and Norway. However, until 31 August, Danish residents travelling to any other country will still be urged to self-quarantine for 14 days after returning to Denmark.

  2. For the first time since before my Madame X show in Paris was cancelled, I spent a workday in my actual office today 🙂

We obviously have lots of safety measures in place. For instance, meetings are to be held online or outdoors, multiple employees aren't allowed to use the same work station, and the canteen currently sells only food served in portions (no buffet)

So, the Danish government has now reached an agreement with all parties in the Danish parliament on stage 3 and 4 of the reopening of Danish society.

Stage 3 of the reopening will be implemented from 8 June

    • Museums, theatres, zoos and aquariums and amusement parks
    • Public-sector research activities requiring on-site presence
    • Adult training courses aimed at unemployed people and language schools
    • Folk high schools
    • Evening schools
    • Public-sector offices at great risk of developing major backlogs of unexamined applications

If the situation develops more favourably than anticipated, even more public-sector employees will be allowed to return to their offices.

Stage 4 of the reopening will be implemented in early August

    • Upper secondary and futher education institutions
    • Music venues and night clubs
    • Indoor fitness centres, swimming pools and play centres

Even though many young people seem to have forgotten the concept of physical distancing, things appear to be progressing better than planned here in Denmark.

Along with upper secondary schools, all parts of Danish society that were suppoosed to reopen on 8 June will be allowed to open already next Wednesday, on 27 May - with museums, theatres, zoos and aquariums being allowed to reopen immediately.

In addition, there are significant regional differences in the epidemic in Denmark. Therefore, all public sector workers in the three westernmost regions will be allowed to return to work in a week (yes, that includes me 😃)

The Danish government announced that the next stage in the reopening of Danish society will be more extensive than originally planned, though public gatherings of more than 10 people will remain banned for at least a another month.

    • Professional sports can be resumed immediately, for the time being without any spectators
    • Outdoor association activities can be resumed immediately, within the limits of the ban on public gatherings
    • Malls and department stores will be allowed to open on 11 May.
    • Restaurants, cafés, lower secondary schools (including boarding schools), vocational colleges, libraries, and places of religious worship will be allowed to open on 18 May.

  6. Danish police have now issued a ban on staying at certain popular meeting points where people have repeatedly broken the ban on public gatherings of 10+ people.

Walking and biking in those areas is still permitted, while sitting/picnicking/partying etc. is banned and results in a fine of DKK 2500 (~ $ 365).

  7. Gatherings of up to 500 people might be allowed in Denmark after 10 May, depending on how the situation evolves. Most likely, the upper limit for public gatherings will be continuously adjusted. However, it is now clear that gatherings of more than 500 people will definitely not be allowed in Denmark until 1 September at the very earliest.

Furthermore, Danish health authorities announced a change in their testing strategy. The following groups of people in Denmark will be tested from now on:

    - Everyone with any symptoms of COVID-19, whether or not they require medical treatment.

    - Everyone who is admitted to hospital as an emergency, regardless of the reason.

    - All health-care workers.

    - A representative sample of asymptomatic Danes.

  8. According to Kåre Mølbak, director of the Denmark's national infectious diseases agency, we'll have to keep practicing physical distancy until a vaccine or effective treatment is widely available. And he doesn't expect that to happen before sometime next year at the earliest.

He also expects that mass gatherings will have to remain banned in Denmark until then.

@Msig I am always impressed by the high level of social responsibility and discipline of the Danes, without any rigid containment measures by the government. To achieve the same level of containment in Quebec, the government had to impose strict rules and impose onerous fines for people who did not respect social distancing measures. You are truly an example in terms of people who are involved for the common good of their society.

Believe me, there are a**holes in Denmark, too.

Nonetheless, according to the Danish infectious diseases agency, it would be completely safe to reopen a wide range of Danish businesses immediately, as long a majority of adult Danes keep practicing physical distancing and maintaining a high level of hand hygiene.

Workplaces that might be reopened immediately include service businesses and public-sector offices. However, Danish health authorities recommend that restaurants, cafés, pubs, nightclubs, sports facilities, and boarding schools remain closed for the time being.

  10. The Danish government just announced that it will move more rapidly than originally planned in lifting Denmark's coronavirus restrictions. At the moment, our government’s key priority is getting more Danes back to work, although working conditions won't return to normal anytime soon.

The number of coronavirus-related hospitalisations in Denmark has fallen by almost 30 percent in the past two weeks, and the daily number of coronavirus-related deaths also seems to be falling.

I am very curious about why some countries have less cases and less deaths than others. The fact that many countries with extreme lockdown for weeks are doing worse than others. I guess it's some genetic thing. That will help to find a vaccine.

I think what has worked is that the lockdown measures were introduced literally hours after the health authorities had confirmed the first case of person-to-person spread within Denmark where the source was unknown.

The number of patients hospitalised in Denmark with COVID-19 has fallen every day for almost a week, and the number of patients needing intensive care is well below the maximum capacity.

The Danish government just announced that the coronavirus lockdown measures in Denmark seem to be working.

Provided that the number of new hospitalisations remains stable for the next two weeks, the Danish government will begin a gradual and controlled opening of the Danish society after Easter.

Denmark's Prime Minister announced that daycare facilities and primary schools will re-open on 15 April. Additionally, upper secondary schools will open for students in their final year.

All other current lockdown measures have been extended, for the time being up to and including 10 May. However, the ban on mass gatherings will be lifted no earlier than 1 September.

No 9th and 10th form-level school-leaving examinations will take place this year; marks given for the year's work will count also as examination marks.

  14. The Danish Prime Minister just announced some additional emergency coronavirus measures, effective from tomorrow at 10:00 CET, for the time being up to and including 30 March:

    • All public gatherings of more than 10 people will be banned.
    • All indoor sports facilities, hairdressing and tattoo salons, solariums, dine-in restaurants and cafés, bars will be closed.
    • All shops located in indoor malls will be closed, except food shops and pharmacies.

According to the The Moscow Times, there are 114 confirmed cases in Russia, including 53 in Moscow and 10 in St. Petersburg. No deaths have been reported so far.

  16. Hi 🤗

I've been working from home for a week now and I also go out only for essentials. It's driving me mad but at least I have more time to get things done in my home, as all of my after-work activities have been cancelled for the time being.

I had tickets for the 10 March show, but that was cancelled, and in the end I didn't go to Paris at all.

  17. Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) - the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway and Sweden - announced that the company will suspend most of its international flights as of tomorrow. 90 % of its staff will be sent home on paid leave.

In the next few days, a limited number of international air routes will be upheld to enable travellers to return home from their destinations.

The curse of Madonna for the backlash she got last year in Israel will probably prevent the Eurovision from taking place

It looks increasingly likely that it won't take place in Rotterdam as originally planned.

Word has it that the EBU's plan B is to have all participants perform live via satellite from their respective home countries.

  19. Starting tomorrow at noon, Denmark will effectively close its borders, for the time being up to and including 13 April.

Non-Danish citizens who can't prove that they have a "legitimate" reason for entering the country, will not be allowed to enter the country.

  20. Danish citizens are now advised against all non-essential journeys abroad, for the time being up to and including 12 April.

Danes currently travelling outside Denmark are urged to return home as soon as soon as possible, as they risk stranding abroad.
