How does the biggest TV show on earth not have 1.3M to invite the biggest pop icon on earth to celebrate their finale?

The television production of this year's Eurovision Song Contest has a total budget of € 28.5 million, financed mainly by the host broadcaster, with additional contributions from the other participating broadcasters, a few commercial sponsors, and ticket sales.

And some public broadcasters just don't have that much money to spend. In 2010, the Norwegian broadcasting corporation, NRK, was forced to sell the tv rights to the FIFA World Cup and postpone several major drama production in order to afford hosting the contest, even though that edition of the contest was considered a low-budget affair.

So far I think only Justin Timberlake has ever performed there? tbqh for years and years I wondered why artists didn't go there to promote their singles, because the audience is so incredibly segmented! If you want to reach the gays following divas, it is your place!

Several internationally recognized artists have performed as interval acts during the show - but Justin Timberlake remains the only interval act that wasn't a citizen or resident of the host country.

These are the interval acts from some of the most recent Eurovision finals:

I'm confident the album is going to be about no later than April. We'll prob get the single no later than early March and if she's doing two singles, then prob even sooner than that.

MadonnaTribe previously reported that the album was tentatively scheduled for a Q2 release. But I agree with you that April seems more likely than May or June.

M has never released a studio album in May, and "True Blue" remains M's only studio album to have been released in June.

Maybe we’ll get a Clean Bandit collab instead? That article says the Clean Bandit album is still to be released this year. There were some rumors maybe they had gotten together with M. Or speculation, I should say, because of the IG video M posted, and Clean Bandit’s response, expressing positive thoughts about recording with her.

And Cher posted that she is cool with them but it “didn’t work out” or whatever. Wasn’t it @Suedey who conjectured that might mean it fell through because they got Madonna to feature instead?

The tracklist for Clean Bandit's new album was revealed a week ago, and M isn't featured on any songs.

The new Clean Bandit album - titled What Is Love? - does, however, feature collaborations with acts such as Luis Fonsi, Craig David, Stefflon Don, Rita Ora and Charli XCX. With one exception, the album also includes all singles released by Clean Bandit in the past 2½ years.

Did MDNA get the listening party treatment ? I know it was pulled together very quickly....

And is the listening party concept still a big deal in the music industry ?

Yes, Liz Rosenberg did a listening party for MDNA at her office 3 weeks before the album was released.

“Girl Gone Wild” (still listed as “Girls” in my hand-out, oopsy) opens the album and is, for my money, a scorching-hot song. Is it “Madonna?” No; she didn’t write it or anything. But it’s a terrific opener and undeniable (to me) fun. “Gang Bang” is like “GGW” on female Viagra (chocolate?)—it’s a dark, driving club stomper, aggressive as hell. It has a techno edge that reminded me superficially of “Control” by Traci Lords. (A song I love. And please don’t take any of my comparisons too literally; there was nothing that sounded…reductive.) Mika came up with this???

“Turn Up the Radio” is a sweeping, joyous pop-dance song as anthemic as “Get Together,” one of my very favorite post-Ray of Light songs. “Give Me All Your Luvin'” sticks out like a sore thumb on this album. I remain a fan of it, but it’s not near the top of my MDNA list.

Loved hearing “Superstar,” complete with Lola singing backing vocals! A charming and fluffy song (“ooooh, la la!”) that felt for me like “Little Star” had grown up and was having fun.

The suite of songs “Love Spent,” “Masterpiece” and “Falling Free” is probably going to please any Madonna fan I’ve ever met. They’re beautifully sung and are not cursed with oversimplified lyrics, nor do they sound like they care much if asinine radio programmers will like them. “Falling Free” is my fave song of the album so far, gorgeously sung, a total stand-out. Go, Joe Henry! Keep it together, indeed.

Now, I’d heard the bonus tracks were to die for, but who knew that a rumor would be true times 10? “Beautiful Killer” is a fucking great Orbit-sounding Solveig song (could Orbit really not have had a hand in this one???). How in the HELL this is not on the album proper, how in the HELL this is not a title track, I’ll never understand. Even the cringe-inducing title “I Fucked Up” turns out to be a really pretty, plaintive pop song. “B-day Song” didn’t seem to have its guest star—M.I.A. was M.I.A.

At some point, Nicki Minaj declares Madonna the only queen.

I genuinely loved most of what I heard. I would be shocked if many people didn’t feel this was a vast improvement over Hard Candy which, let’s be honest, was a good record. There are definitely songs on here that are personal, uplifting and inspiring mixed among the far louder “I’m still hot and young, fuck me in any hole you can!” club crushers.

  6. Over 1,000 Danish children and youngsters have been charged by the police with sharing a sex video involving a 15-year-old girl and several boys.

The many defendants face charges of distributing child pornography as part of a co-ordinated police effort that dates back to 2015 and goes by the name of ‘Operation Umbrella’.

“It’s a very big and complex case that has taken a long time to investigate, not least because of the large number of people charged,” said Lau Thygesen, a police inspector with North Zealand Police who is the lead investigator on the case.

“We’ve taken the case very seriously as it has had serious consequences for those involved because of how the material has been spread. And it must be stopped.”

The majority of those charged have shared the video a couple of times, but there are some who have shared it hundreds of times.

    Serious ramifications
The police action is the largest in Danish history involving the sharing of offensive images of children.

Those found guilty face conditional sentences of around 20 days in prison, while the conviction will go on their criminal record for at least two years. They will also spend at least ten years on the child offence registry – which would bar them from working in jobs relating to children, such as teaching, sports coaching etc.

The case began in 2015 when Facebook received reports that two video sequences and an image containing sexual material involving individuals under the age of 18 were being shared among young people on the chat-platform Messenger.

The material continued to be shared until late 2017 before Facebook informed the US authorities, which passed the info on to Europol, which in turn alerted the Danish police.

The North Zealand police district had the highest number of people charged with 286, followed by Copenhagen (183), Copenhagen’s Western Suburbs (151) and East Jutland (77). There was even one person charged in Greenland.
