  1. Well that didn't take long to hit the general media. She's not stupid, she had to know it would be misinterpreted. Especially given the racial climate in this country and this city right now, this is really tone deaf. Doesn't she believe in her music on its own anymore? Why does she have to keep pushing the buttons? And in a way that makes it seem like she's just trying to get promo rather than a genuine interest making a statement.

But if it was anything else?

  2. when i saw a M fan on twitter ask fans to make bob marley with rebel heart album artwork i knew it would get picked up and people would complain :p a lot of jerks think madonna is "below" these people and have a "how dare she" attitude about her. meanwhile miley does the same shit all day and no one cares. i think they don't get her humour.

It's not humor to me, it's madonna genuinely looking up to these figures and seeing them as rebel hearts, who fought for what they believed in like herself but in much more troubling circumstances. I think that people are misunderstanding what the album cover signifies and are automatically deeming madonna racially insensitive because they believe she's trying to degrade black people or use them as promo. It's really disheartening for me because I really truly in my heart don't believe madonna is a racist but because we as a people have been going through so much trauma and discrimination we are quick to jump on the attack of any white person who does something remotely disrespectful to us. In this case, me being a fan, I can't even see the harm. It's her promo strategy or better yet her artistic inspiration more than anything.

  3. As I continue my complete and utter immersion in everything Rebel Heart related, I honestly can't see how anyone could be even slightly disappointed in 95% of these demos. I've had some time to get past the initial excitement (granted, not much time) to actually process what I'm hearing with a semi-objective mind and I am still totally blown away and beyond impressed with the quality of this music. Inspiration makes all the difference in the world for her. All of her greatest musical achievements come from moments of either great pain or great joy. There's a lot of pain in this record, but also an equal amount of desire to make the world a better place based on her observations of the state of the world during her MDNA tour. It's all so beautiful. I've never been more moved, never so connected to her music before. And, as usual, she's saving me all over again with her messages, her lyrics, her melodies. I didn't know it was still possible for me to feel this sort of joy from music. Thank you, Madonna.

    I agree whole heartedly.

  4. You are just as bad as they are, and propagate hate just as much. It's retarded. They are fucking pop stars, who make music. That's it. People can like both, people might not. But, there is no use getting your back up and going to the defence when really it does not matter. So yeah, it's totally retarded. No need to be so uppity all the time. Just enjoy the music, man... that's it. I'm so tired of the imaginary lines people draw in the sand. It's stupid.

And for what it's worth, I don't like both. I barely tolerate Gaga, but, I see she has a lot of potential.

    This wasn't needed.
