I don't know if this is real, it's from a guy from madonnainfinity forums.

The video is more political and provocative than the track itself. Don't worry you wanna dance and you'll be wigless. She's back.

Do you know if this guy posted similar tidbits before?

I’d say it’s finished now. If they did like 3 12-hour shoots, they probably got a lot to work with.

Well Friday, LA/Pacific time, after we got the posting here of the theater location, I dropped by the theater and they were already using the venue for something else.

They started shooting the video Wednesday and we know Thursday was a 16 hr day from yesterday post.

Thank you both for the info!

I have to say, I too am really surprised at how (so far) there has been barely a leak of information regarding anything. Even from past music video shootings, we used to get much more pics and info leaking onto the internet. Looks like M really did beef up 'security' in every area. I like it that way though  (Just a date would be nice at this point)

The song representing Portugal this year is quite stunning and impressive. It merges Fado, Oriental and I believe even Gypsy influences while keeping things fresh and experimental. I wouldn't mind if Madonna's new music is even remotely similar to this:

Somebody already posted this in the new album thread a couple of weeks ago and I remember it got quite a bad reception :sneaky:

I don‘t understand the dislike though either. It does feel a bit chaotic at some points but I find the experimental approach really interesting, mixing these different sounds together. If M did something like that with a stronger melody, I’d be absolutely here for that.

Madonna has always had something to say about pop culture and society at large. Whether it was overtly political (American Life) or an underlying message disguised as a banger (Vogue).

So this idea that she needs to stay away from “politics” is like wishing she would stay away from talking about sexuality.

We need her voice now more than we ever have. And given the nationalistic and xenophobic wave that has crashed upon the most of the Western Hemisphere, I’m interested to hear what she has to say

The fact that she’s putting drag queens in a music video to make a statement is beyond exciting and rather poignant. No one in pop music history has made bigger cultural statements than Madonna. Period.

Very good post. Sometimes I feel like I'm in the minority here, but I have never had problems with M using political messages in her art.

Having said that - I don't even consider American Life to be a political album, except for the title track and maybe Hollywood. There's some more between the lines of course, but I've never felt it was an overtly political album where M put the message above the music. She's always able to fuse the two IMO.

Apparently she's not, due to scheduling conflicts. My best bet would be Jonas directing at this point...

From what I've been told, he's not involved in the first single videos, but might be for the future singles...

Thank you robster for your info!

Let's hope we'll see her working with him (or some other fresh talented blood) on future videos then. I'm ok with Akerlund, but would be nice to see her switching things up with a different creative team

On another note, really like those outfits as well and I think they'll translate great on video with their shine and glitter. Here's hoping we'll get another tease before they wrap this up!

According to Maluma's insta stories he was getting a backrub in Miami just a couple of hours ago. He's been in Miami since the day after he and Madonna recorded and his new single is premiering on march 1st, this friday! So unless they have multiple days of shooting or a second camera team in Miami it doesn't look like he'll be in LA with Madonna on set filming a video today...

Thank you robster for the breakdown!! So yeah, looks like the only possibility of him being in the vid then is when they do a cut and paste job à la BIM.
Then again, nothing is what it seems in Madonnaland, so maybe we'll be treated tomorrow by new selfies of M and Maluma

Oh Madonna. Talking in an interview from summer 2018 about how she is over featurings, and now that we are in February 2019, what do we get? News that her lead single will have a feauture. I will always love this woman but she has become increasingly contradicting in her statements and actions the last couple of years.

  8. I agree with previous posters that Nakhane appears to be a very promising artist. I hope she will not drop these kind of collabs (if they happened) in favour of another rent-a-rapper or mainstream artist (sorry). I've also listened into the Ibeyi girls and like their sound, though as far as I know they are only following M on Instagram, we never saw them together in the studio?! So I don't think we're looking at a collab here.

PS: When is the due date for the baby?

MNation forever!! Very happy it's still here and thriving! Hope it continues to do so despite social media. The forum experience just can't be beat.

Being that her team is so aware of it, I'm sure she's at least taken a glance here before. Would love to think she's among us lurking frequently but prob not likely.

Yeah, I can imagine her having a peak from time to time, but not really active posting. I wonder what she thinks when she sees people discussing her paparazzi pics down to details like "Love how her hair is looking like that, it used to be different 2 weeks ago at LAX airport" :chuckle:

I think since M is recording in this recent video with Maluma & not Maluma himself, she is recording something for his new album since he said he's been in LA working on his new album.

Yes, I believe that's the likeliest scenario as well. Given that we heard nothing about new sessions for M14 since months, it'd be a bit strange for M to suddenly go back working on it. (Then again, I could be completely wrong because we never know with M these days lol)

My guess, however, is the album is finished and they're now wrapping up the collabs that have been rumoured to happen since quite some time.
