  1. LAP, even though it's been done on a big stage many times before, does indeed sound like a very reasonable choice as it's the perfect song for a dramatic powerful performance, however I think Hung Up could be a great idea as well since it was a mega-hit in Europe and particularly among the younger 90's-00's generation it's the song people associate with her the most (from my experience).

I guess it will depend on what kind of performance she's going for. HU would be perfect for a big flashy disco-style performance, whereas LAP would work well in a theatrical setting along with some kind of spiritual/political message. She can pull off both styles perfectly.

Stylish queen, that's the M I love!

As for the IG clues, I'm really enjoying this rollout and am honestly very surprised about it all (in a positive way) as I absolutely did not expect this approach at all. It's so cool to have an artist who's close to 40 years in the business still being able to create such an excitement and drum up her fanbase around a new release.

I find Madame X to be an interesting title, it's a very Madonna-esque title indeed and open to interpretation like many previous album titles are so it fits well into her discography. Though I have the feeling it's not the actual album title, but like others said more like the character she's going to take on in her videos (and tour?) for this era.

In any case, very exciting times ahead!

  3. I'm late as always, but I jumped when I heard the news a couple of days ago - it's a secret Madonna dream come true for me. Whenever I watched the contest, I've been thinking for years how great it would be to have Madonna perform there. Now the moment is finally here :inlove:

I do believe though - which is something I said before and I absolutely stick to - she must do it right and bring her a-game. This is a moment to reconnect the general audiences all over Europe with M's music, which bears A LOT of potential since there is still lots of genuine love for M here (at least speaking for the couple of countries that I have spent some longer time in). This performance is the perfect opportunity to remind millions of people of her greatness and the reason (well, one of the reasons) why she is one of the greatest icons in pop music - her outstanding artistic performances coupled with timeless, universally appealing hit singles.

This is not a moment to pull off a "Hey guys look how I'm still a badass bitch"-BIM style performance with a messy song, unfamiliar guest stars (because Maluma and Anitta are absolutely NOT famous here) and whatnot. I hope that doesn't sound condescending, because I do believe she can nail these kind of performances as well - the BIM Fallon performance was actually one of my favourites from the last couple of years. However, I do not think that's the kind of Eurovision performance she could draw the greatest benefit from.

But, having said all that, I have no doubt she will make this work. I like the comparisons with the SuperBowl because indeed, it was a very similar moment in terms of impact and the potential it carried - and as we all know, she delivered a performance only M could do. So, in other words....bring. it. on.

(Oh and screw the 'criticism' coming from people who want to force their "Boycott Israel" narrative down everyone's throat and completely distort the whole context of this event.  I understand there are legitime reasons for concern and anger about Israel's politics, but why direct this towards a pop singer performing at an international song contest?! :dazed:Again, a case of fighting the wrong enemy, as is happening so often recently)

madonna running in the garden in a brown wig, likely wearing a beautiful floral gown is giving life :dramatic:

Omg I love that thought! And with the Baroque palace as the backdrop maybe. Sort of like the Vogue Photoshoot from last year come to life, I would love that!

Whatever it is, she‘s definitely putting a lot of effort into the visuals with so many location changes already. Also really like the fact she’s shooting so much in Portugal, and in beautiful outdoor places on top of that.

I assume that Baroque palace thing is not the same as the Belas shoot a couple of days ago?!

    I can‘t keep up

Not looking great. I so did not want a song about American politics. It is the last thing she needs.

No idea how legit this newspaper is, but I found this part quite interesting...

Channel 12 news reported that Madonna is expected to perform for about 15 minutes towards the end of the Eurovision finals, as votes from around the world are counted and ahead of the announcement of the winning entry.

Imagine! A SuperBowl type of show with several songs :dramatic:

I also don't mind a performance with a controversial theme, however depending on the topic it might not be that fitting for Eurovision indeed. If she wants to address problems concerning the US politics, it would be a bit odd to use a show for European audiences as a platform for her message...obviously Europe has its own problems that in many cases don't relate to what's going on in the US.

Of course, this is all just "what if" speculation because the fact of the matter is, we know nothing about what they mean with 'controversial'...

Sorry guys but you know how occasionally on Google when you type in Madonna new album it usually says rebel heart. But there's been a few errors just random people's albums there instead. It's different again its not a Madonna album and it's from 2017 but do you think it's because they are gearing up to update it. I took a screenshot

I always had the feeling the new album was already released!!

Can't wait for the Transmission Impossible World Tour feat. Paulina Rubio

  7. One thing I‘m wondering...there was this one tweet a couple of pages back, with a fan asking the Eurovision account if M would perform and they responded sort of in that cheeky way...would they go out of their way to respond to a random tweet just like that? I was thinking it‘s a sign there really was, at the very least, some negotiating...I could be totally wrong, though.

Still crossing my fingers this is going to happen!

  8. There's no cover album leaking, however that did make wonder though...Surely there must be studio versions of at least some of the covers M was performing the last couple of years, and I very much hope they see the light of the day. I know most fans aren't too interested in her covers (well, after the trauma of Imagine, it's natural) but in the last years she's been choosing some interesting songs. I liked Between The Bars and thought If I Had A Hammer sounded very pretty.

Honestly, she could make the wait a lot easier for us and take some time pressure off of her as well by releasing some of that stuff from her vault. Personally, I know an EP of those cover versions would tide me over for yet another 2 months. But I know, wishful thinking :newspaper:

  9. I know this is literally desperation, but I'm wondering is there a typical day on which they drop official announcements? If I remember, the official announcement for MDNA came out on a Sunday, whereas with RH we got it on a Saturday (alongside with the 6 first tracks on iTunes), however as we all know this was a spontaneous reaction to the leaks... I used to hear Thursday is a common day, but I'm thinking in the internet age it hardly matters, no?

Thanks. Interesting, but of course he could be just making it up...He also claims they were shooting a music video in Morocco?! Not sure if that stuff sounds believable.

My first ex boyfriend knows people in Jonas Åkerlund's team. This must have been more than a month ago, even longer, when he met a guy in Stockholm called Jonas Karlsson telling him they've been shooting a video with Madonna in Africa. Morocco. If it's a music video for her new album or something else I'm not 100% sure of. But my ex was pretty sure it was a video for her new album because it was kept under lid.
