They're preparing the stage now! You could see the stage guys running in the background before they cut to the performance recap
-
Hahaha they keep hinting at the M performance and then sb else takes the stage
They know how to hype her!

Now THIS is Eurovision
Exactly!!
I love our crazy camp Europe How much more peaceful things would be if Europe was like that every day!
I just wish more countries would sing in their local language again, like it used to be until the last 10 years!

Omg that Denmark girl is giving me serial killer vibes

Omg omg I just came home and missed the beginning, did they already say something about M???

Madonna sounding like an eastern european zlutthis is so catchy i'm LIVING!!!!!!!!
Omg now that you mention it I can't unhear that
I do love the power in M's vocals though! She's sounding very energetic delivering her divorce from Maluma
From an artistic point of view the song is trash of course, but at least it's catchy trash with a fun M! Don't mind it on his album.

Well by the looks of her latest story she's definitely tying the performance into a political context. The 'Wake Up' projection, then what looks like fire / destruction on the screens...will be interesting to see how this pans out!

Okay putas,
same procedure as with the last songs! Let's rate M's newest endeavor into Jamaican dancehall!
Personally, I'm gonna go with 'Good'. Normally it's not the kind of genre I listen to a lot, nor am I a fan of
QuavoKuVo, but M did a good job making it her own and it stayed in my head right after the first listen, so that's always a good sign Highlight to me is definitely the bridge, plus M chanting "Let your love shiiine" into Quavo's verse. If the voice effects were a bit toned down and the hook a little stronger, I'd give it an excellent. Now it's your turn!

Are we sure this is out everywhere on Friday? It says 19 May in my iTunes store (Germany here).

It‘s interesting! I definitely get the comparisons to UB, though I have to say this feels like UB on steroids lol (in a good way)
Out of the 4 songs we know, it‘s so far indeed the most fitting for Eurovision IMO.
-
Seriously, what a MESS (but I‘m living for it ) Can you imagine the drama that was going on backstage when M was denied entry??!
On another note, in her latest IG pic of the rehearsals she has her grills on...do we think she‘s going to unleash them on us again? Personally, I hope not - yes yes we got it by now, she‘s M, she can do what she wants, basic people don‘t get her etc. - doesn‘t change the fact to me the grills are unflattering and take away from her looks.
But let‘s see...

Is it good or great? (just kidding )
And do friends approve of it?

Omg this is EXACTLY what I've been dreaming about!! I LOVED the Met Gala performance and one of my first thoughts after first watching it last year was "This should be seen by much more people". Artistic performances with dramatic staging is something M completely excels at, so it's a GREAT decision to showcase that talent of hers in front of a large TV audience. Kudos to M!!! She knows her audience.
Also, to the people who are disappointed it's a similar performance, keep in mind majority of the audience will have never seen the Met performance so to most it will be a new experience.
Oh and does anyone else think that kind of performance will probably mean LIVE singing? This is the other thing I've been really hoping for, as it would be a bit odd for M to lip-sync after 2 hours of (mainly) live singing. Crossing my fingers!

Madonna’s entourage includes rapper KoVu, a choir of 40 people, 25 dancers and dozens of choreographers, staging, lighting, and video art personnel for her performance.

MadonnaRama just uploaded all the pics from the magazine spread in HQ. Gorgeous!
I think this is my favourite:

The shot of her in the audio video is mesmerizing! What a beautiful styling Couldn't take my eyes off the clip despite the 50+ loops
I find the song itself, after several listens, to be quite solid and I appreciate that the featurings this time are really worked into the song rather than used as mere add-ons. I do have to say for some reason, I still can't help feeling reminded of Ariana Grande a slight bit..probably because of M's similar vocal delivery in the verses. Regardless of that 'impression', it still makes for an enjoyable listen.

Sooo, I see Mother Monster Advocate has risen from its 2014 grave and chose to rate this song. Guess which rating it picked?

This is breathtaking! She’s so amazing! Her rendition of Sodade is mindblowing! Hopefully, she will give us the chance to listen to the full Lisbon Sessions, the songs that she mentioned during the interview with Keith...the ones sung in portuguese with the musicians she met in Lisbon. Looking forward to June 14!
Yes, fingers crossed. It would be an absolute shame if those sessions will be relegated to small promo clips she shares on her IG.

Have just come around reading the whole interview (well, what has been posted on the site so far) and going through the pics. I agree with others that she is very spot on about where she stands in society, and it's good to see her voicing it! The pics themselves are exactly how I love M the most - classic and elegant, pulled off in a way only M can do it (and the black hair is a welcome bonus ) The promo vid just topped it off.
Was surprised to read they were taken in her London townhouse! Was assuming the whole time they shot it in Lisbon. I don't think we ever got an inside glimpse of her London apartment before, no?

Somehow I agree. Madonna being American may be absolutely unaware of the exposure of the festival?
That's why she has a team of advisors who - I assume - have explained that to her...

He's basically pulling the "I can't be racist because I have black friends" card. I didn't follow the controversy around those supposed homophobic statements they made (trashy trip hop music groups don't get me interested), but that is a ridiculous excuse.
I'm looking forward to the performance regardless of what she decides to play, however I absolutely stick to what I said earlier - I expect nothing short of a great professional performance since Eurovision could very well mean a turning point for her further success in Europe. If done right, it could greatly boost her popularity among the general public again as the potential in most European countries is still absolutely there. If not, she's going to cement the trend of declining interests. Sorry but that's how I feel about it.
