  1. Looks like it...and even if it does, I for one won't be able to hold out till the 26th.

The HC leaks almost KILLED me.

If it leaks, i guess all the pre-orders on itunes will be automatically available. These pre-ordering thing was genius to fight against the unavoidable leak because the album is now already sold and people who bought it will rather go for the good copy they bought than a mediocre rip (especially since Universal said they upgraded the digital quality of their releases on itunes). Genius :)

  2. So that means that acustic stuff Orbit is doing with M right now is really not for the album as it's already 100 percent finished. Otherwise they wouldn't have let magazines listen to the album already.

Could be for his own album. He has a new strange cargo coming up. Could also be for a special edition of MDNA around the holidays. Could be he was joking :)

  4. I've been listening to the song many times now and i really don't like it at all. I'm happy for those who like it though. It's a matter of taste and taste is subjective. I don't have better taste than the next person so i won't call this song shit but i really really don't like it. Deleted from my itunes. Looking forward to the Orbit collabs now.

  5. It surely is better than what i expected from the megamix clip. It misses something, like a good bass in the same way GMAYL did not know if it wanted to be surfer rock or generic dance music. The melodies are good, the production not so much. It's very kitschy. Yet i remember the uproar when Vogue was realised (right after the critically acclaimed "Like a prayer" album) people said it was generic, stupid and compared it to another contemporary dance music act at the time Technotronic whom people thought (at the time) was pure shit.

  6. She's unlikely to sell 1M by the end of the year.

It's really, really difficult to have a real conversation about Lady Gaga when almost everyone in the room hates her and is incapable of being objective. You guys are so blinded by your distaste for her that you can't see past the Madonna comparisons to what I'm actually saying. I do think part of it has to do with exposure, and I also think the "quality" of the music matters. I happen to like BTW a lot, but I can see how it wouldn't resonate on pop radio like her past hits. These are all factors.

XXL and 12:51: Madonna appealed to the gays from the start too. But "Just Dance," etc. had broad appeal. A song about trannys and lesbians and videos with men in tights and heels are taking it to a level where it's inherently going to alienate more casual fans who are just listening for the pop songs and the fun costumes. She crossed a line. Nobody's talking about whether the controversies were "good" or not. You guys are confusing what I'm saying with me saying Gaga is as good or controversial as Madonna was. For the last time: That's not what I've been saying. Read what I'm actually saying! Kurt did!

Supernatural: You're confusing "stunts" or individual controversies (which Madonna has many of and Gaga has few) with an overall tone. Gaga's images have become more and more subversive, and more and more gay. That is one factor that is turning off Middle America. I'm not saying it's the only one, but it's one.

When are we going to stop blaming record labels and start blaming Madonna for making shitty music and trying to pass it off as art?
  7. Whether it was intended or not, it still became the FIRST single from American Life. It may have not been conventionally released or promoted as the first single, but it became the first single. You can argue anyway you want, but the fact comes down to... "Die Another Day" was the first single from the album, whether it was intended or not.

As for "Live to Tell", the song was indeed promoted as the single from the "Forthcoming album True Blue". It's mentioned on the back cover sleeve of the single. Yet, the song before it landed in Madonna's hands was a project for another movie indeed that Pat Leonard was involved with. At the time, he hoped Madonna could write lyrics for the song. The song was rejected by Paramount before it reached Madonna's hands. When it did reach her hands, she wanted to use it for Sean Penn's film AT CLOSE RANGE. The intention wasn't to even use Madonna as the lead vocals. At any rate, I believe I read somewhere the song was actually the last song she worked on that went on TRUE BLUE.

During the Shangaï Suprise press conference in London she said that the name of her forthcoming album was "Live to tell".

  8. The UK dates will sell out. No worries. In 2008 the economy was no less shitty than it is today and she still managed to sell out 2 stadiums and three arena gigs, 9 months later (*waits for the usual suspects to point out she cancelled some 2009 gig in Manchester*). She is going to have another record-breaking tour. She is Madonna not some average pop starlet.

It seems like on top of that there are some problems with Hyde Park residents and the concerts (hers, Springsteen, U2..) are possibly gonna be cancelled it's all over the media so i doubt people would buy tickets for a concert that may be cancelled and silly of her to do it in Hyde Park because people will enjoy it for free anyway even if they see shit (which is also the case with some standing paying tickets).

  9. I never understood the passion for chart position. This is not what music is about. If i had real interest in chart positions i'd have a passion for car racing which i don't. No single from "Bedtime stories" charted very well in the UK and it did not sabotage Madonna's career. Most of the songs i love never chart anyway and most of the songs i hate do. That said there's something really odd about "Give me all your love", it's kind of irritating. I just took a look at the uk charts for feb. 18th and most of the song on the top 60 are as annoying as "GMAYL" if not more....David Guetta ? I mean really ? As a french person i hereby present my apologies to the world in the name of my country for spawning this disease.

  10. With a total of 6 posts in all threads on this song im the one being dramatic? You got me! LOL I could care less about the success of the song im not getting any money out of this the ones defending this song are more dramatic with 100 posts(100 word essays) etc.......LMAO

    Irony.

Well 6 posts about this song is already a lot for someone who does not care about it. Just sayin'

  11. Honey i also said who cares about number 1,2? It's about quality. The song is catchy but crap. I come on here once a day to see some news so i don't go by what members are saying i go out watch TV, listen to the radio(montreal usually love Madonna) my friends at my brothers 3 bars in Montreal the the majority of people think it's crap. Some people need to get out more. TMZ(one guy said is was crap), ETALK,MUCHMUSIC they all have said they don't like the song.

Or atleast ill say that is how it is in Montreal.

If everyone loves this song everywhere else i apologize for speaking on your behalf. LOL

So you're speaking on behalf of ALL Montreal ?

  12. 1. ADELE - Set Fire To The Rain: 146.785 (+ 0.971)

    2. RIHANNA - We Found Love f/Calvin Harris: 130.068 (- 1.614)

    3. FLO RIDA - Good Feeling: 117.905 (- 1.862)

    4. BRUNO MARS - It Will Rain: 103.606 (- 2.068)

    5. KATY PERRY - The One That Got Away: 98.510 (- 3.151)

MADONNA - Give Me All Your Luvin': 21.882 (- 0.301)

    RIP

The song is not getting any good call out scores. Expect it to disappear very soon.

Huge floppage around the world. First time in history that BBC Radio1 is totally ignoring a lead single by Madonna. Not even C-listed! The UK couldn't care less about this song. It's very sad. Even Nothing Fails was a smash compared to this.

BBC radio one said prior to the release and even before the leak that they would not be playing Madonna because she was not in their age demographics.Even Boy George (not one of Madonna's biggest supporter) called them out on it.

  13. We'll have plenty of time for the inevitable meltdown AFTER the album is released so why being so negative right now ? I too did not like the snippet we heard of GGW, it sounds like a yiddish chant remixed in Ibiza circa 1999 but it's just a snippet and the whole thing must be good if they decided to release it as a single. So i trust Madonna and her team on this one. Maybe it's not an edgy album but it seems like it's not what she tried to achieve. She wants fun pop and we need fun pop :) (I don't feel the remixes either, awful dj's).

But hey, if this album is a big seller she'll have more freedom to experiment next time. I feel this album is like "True Blue" something i hated so much when it was released and hated for years until one day i listened to it for what it is : a pure pop album that sold shitloads and established her as pop royalty and after it we had "Like a prayer". Patrick Leonard just produced Leonard Cohen last album and is receiving praises for it. Joe Henry produced the wonderful latest labum of Me'shell ndege'ocello. Stuart Price is back on being Jacques Lu Cont. so they are still around and maybe they'll be back one day. We all love Madonna for different reasons and different songs because her catologue is so rich and varied that she can't satisfy everybody at once. I'm still rooting for her to make an album with James Murphy or anyone on DFA records. Can't she just have at least a single remixed by Juan MacLean, Shit robot or Holy Ghost ?
