Good luck Jamesy.
Chelle, you should work for the samaritans x
Thanks,
And yes - she's so great. Chelle's contributions to these topics are miraculously keeping me smiling since yesterday morning through all this!
-
Jamesy, that's the worst!
Pud I am loving your current pic / avatar combo.
-
OMG Jamesy do you know Alyssa, shes a big Madonna fan, best friends with Kat. She's in the same boat. I can PM you her Facebook. Shes Puerto Rican so she can help out in that respect but she posted about PR refunds last night
Hey that would be great Chelle! This whole thing has turned into such a disaster but I will damned if I don't at least get my concert ticket money back! Thanks. :-)

Anyone know anything more about how to get ticket refunds for the Puerto Rico concerts?
I got an email from the ticket website today (Ticketpop) and (as I feared) it doesn't sound like it's going to be easy.
Says I have to call an automated service in Puerto Rico and leave my contact number - then someone from their office will call me (at what time of the day or night, no indication is given). But will they call international numbers? Is that realistic? Sounds very very primitive. Do I need to include international dialling code on my contact number that I speak into their system? Will they understand my accent on the recording - in English?
FUCKSAKE! I bought the ticket online - refund should be an online process.
-
Ooh can that person on Twitter call up and get my BA flight refunded. I'd happily pay £250.
LOL!
Get them to call for me too please!
-
The sheer arrogance of it all gets to me a little.
It's kinda like "oh well - nevermind - I'm a perfectionist - it's no big deal".
Except stuff like this is costing lots of people a lot of money and a better excuse and explanation is in order.
And please think of it like this - if we're really to believe that with over THREE MONTHS to go, they are cancelling all these shows cos they're worried about a few days of extra rehearsal and preparation, then are any dates scheduled for the first month of the tour reliable?
When they're actually CLOSE to tour opening - that's when issues to do with rehearsals, stage construction, videos etc. etc. really come to light. They may just swap around a load of other dates on a whim closer to the time.
Oh - and as for refunds - even though it's trivial in comparison to everything else - can't imagine anyone will get that ridiculous Live Nation $25 "pre-sale" fee back, who purchased it specifically to buy for these first shows.

What a load of shite to wake up to.
Booked Puerto Rico. Non refundable. Fortune.
What the fuck am I gonna do there on my own now??
The old bag needs a slap for this.

Even so, the Tidal deal was sealed in January behind closed doors (see here) and she would have known the topic would be hot when taping J-Whi.
I would be intrigued to hear her elaborate on Tidal – their PR lingo so far has been totally overblown, they're making their business sound like a landmark moment in the history of mankind without actually going into any concrete detail as to how exactly this will change the course of history.
Either way, I am really happy J-Whi will ask her about parenting. Now there's a fresh angle! I wonder how she juggles parenthood and career
Agree with you on all that! :-)
Can't imagine Tidal was on the mind of Jo Whiley tho when she interviewed Madonna.
Unless the interview is actually taking place today I doubt we will hear anything about that.
-
Motherhood and the Fall? After this Tidal announcement?! I want her to elaborate on that and what her vision for the future is...
I'm guessing this interview was taped a short while back. I wonder if possibly even the day after the BRITs when she was in London? I doubt it's a phone interview - so unless Jo Whiley travelled to USA recently...
-
What does that "1 hour, 57 minutes" mean?
That'll just be the duration of the show once it's available to listen to again on the BBC website.
Sounds like the Madonna interview will be aired in parts during that 2 hour show tonight.
-
Just in case you hadn't heard - a new Madonna interview airs on BBC Radio 2 tonight at 8pm.
Should be a decent interview.
Jo interviewed her for BBC Radio 1 in 2003 and then again for BBC1 TV in 2008.
She introduced Madonna at her HMV London promo gig in 2003 also.

And then there's this

23 March 2015According to Cape Town Lately’s sources, Madonna and Katy Perry will be performing at Cape Town Stadium in Green Point later this year.
Cape Town Lately has it on good authority that the two female superstars are likely to be on stage in the Mother City in 2015.
A few more arrangements and confirmations are needed before an official announcement can be made, according to sources. However, it’s believed that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.
Sounds unlikely - but I wonder why they would print something like that today from nothing? Maybe 2016 as part of the Southern Hemisphere leg of the tour? -
2nd dates for Miami, NY MSG and Toronto:

Miami - Sunday Aug 30th
NY MSG - Thursday Sep 17th
Toronto - Tues Oct 6th

A price drop? Is that a possibility? Haha
As it gets close to concert date it's common to see massive price cuts on resale tickets as sellers panic that they might not get rid of them.
The concert ticket is an unusual commodity - its value can fluctuate wildly - but come the day after the show it's worth a big fat zero!

Here's a rare clip I taped in 1993 of Jonathan Ross interviewing CHRISTOPHER WALKEN - and a brief chat about the BAD GIRL VIDEO and MADONNA:

Here's Jonathan Ross on Loose Women - lots of talk about tomorrow night's special:

In tomorrow's Sun apparently.

I can't believe how cheap the tickets are in Europe. The same seats are 3-4 times more in the US. Wtf.
The floor seats in USA are £270 and in UK are £200.
On previous tours they were always roughly the same - but the UK pound is "strong" right now and I think that partly explains the bigger difference.
Remember you can't compare the USA prices to most of the other European gigs - cos those EU gigs are standing / GA - which will be way cheaper than a seated concert no matter what.

Howard Stern parodies Madonna on his show in 1991:
-
Golden circle in Stockholm? Why? There was none in Amsterdam or Antwerp!
Someone said yesterday the Stockholm venue was the biggest on the tour so far - capacity of a small stadium rather than an arena! That mus be why!
-
Ticketmaster now have the Birmingham Seating Plan up!
-
This is true
But people are in fear that tickets will get sold out, and will have to buy something far from the stage.
I understand - and I've been there myself and I know that the fear takes over!
Just be careful I say. I hated that feeling of being pressured into buying a ticket and then finding one much better in the normal sales or elsewhere.
That's what these fanclub presales are all about IMO - making you feel pressured.

Yeah I'm kinda flabbergasted about the London situation similarly.
She went on Prime Time Saturday night TV here for a full hour with 2 live performances - the first time that's happened in the UK in 10 years - and tickets went on general sale Monday morning after that. So she had the kind of FREE ADVERTISING most acts could only dream of.
Yet she could not sell ONE night at the London O2 with sufficient speed for them to add a 2nd date immediately. In fact it took weeks and weeks before they felt confident to add a 2nd date - and the plans for a 3rd date were binned.
London is one of the largest and richest cities in the world - and MADONNA can basically only sell out one night at an indoor arena comfortably - even with massive primetime TV promotion happening.
I remember CT - they were adding extra London gigs faster than you could blink - as each one sold out. Ended up doing EIGHT nights!!
