  1. But for example, Argentina MDNA tickets for December 2012 went on sale start of May 2012. Definitely possible for very early ticket sales.

They will always try and sell tickets alongside other big promo activities. Kinda 'free advertising' - dependant on the date of the promo activites, not the concerts themselves. :-)

  2. Why did the Daily Mail start this "controversy"?

    It's 6 years old now:

    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a173150/madonna-song-not-played-on-radio-1.html#~p4DYlxExK9e0Ik

"Miles Away" was the last Madonna song playlisted on Radio 1 and although I **love** her new single I'm fine with Radio 1 not bothering with it.

I can still remember in the 90s being annoyed that it seemed MTV didn't want Madonna as much as in the 80s and instead VH1 was her new home. I hated that!! But that's life. Her main fanbase gets older (like everyone does) and these channels are trying to target specific age groups.

In the case of Radio 1 - they're bound by law to not deliberately aim for audiences older than 20-somethings. Lets face it, the *majority* of Madonna fans are 30s+.

Is it not a bit like us expecting Madonna's TV appearances to be on the kids or even pre-school channels?

  3. So according to this article, will be broadcast next month. It'll be probably be on during release week.

Like I said earlier in this thread - that would be my guess.

If you think about these things - her appearance is pure and simple about selling a product (her album in this case - or maybe also concert tickets).

Although promotion in advance of an album release is always useful - the ideal situation is to have the promotion when the product you're trying to sell is available to buy. :-)

She obviously has no control over the timing of Grammys or Brit Awards or any live TV event - but otherwise she and her team will be trying as hard as possible to have big TV appearances happening when the album is available to buy. That's how most everyone does it. :-)

  4. Yes, this album has already surpassed MDNA and HC EASILY!

Confessions, AL and Music are my absolute favorite M albums ever (the holy trifecta). This album could even surpass Confessions (!!!) but I need to hear rest of the tracks first. However, RH wont touch glorious AL or magnificent Music, or at least I feel like that now. Time will tell..

    :-)

I find it difficult personally to be objective about these things cos I must admit that in 2003 and 2000 I was raving about American Life and Music.

So I have to remind myself of that - when I say what I just did about Rebel Heart (shitting over everything from the last 2 decades).

But I honestly can't remember when I so LOVED Madonna songs as much as I love the RH songs I've heard - except back when I was a kid in the 80s and I was obsessed with the songs off TB, WTG, LAP etc.

Joan of Arc is for me, a complete masterpiece of a song, the likes of which I haven't heard from her in decades. It's STUNNING in the extreme. The melodies on this album are off the scale. The lyrics are mind blowingly good.

  5. One of the best Madonna songs since the 80s in my opinion.

Same for loads more songs on this album that I've heard so far.

Rebel Heart album so far shits all over MDNA, Hard Candy, Confessions, American Life (obv), Music and Erotica.

Possibly also Ray of Light and Bedtime Stories - but I don't want to commit to that opinion yet. :-)
