All those extra copies I've bought is helping then!
I'm telling lots of casuals about it and pointing them to the 9.70 tesco store!
I'm sure this will be a very in demand Xmas gift!

Like I say to everyone here if you are buying for Xmas do it this week! The 9.70 tesco and 10.97 asda prices may not be there next week!

If she is doing x factor they won't announce it until after the boot camp stage of the show.
It's boot camp next week. Maybe week after too.
I think M will do it. I also think she will do other promo this year.
As for number 1 this week! Everyone buy those Xmas presents early! This is the best chance week for number 1! Every sale helps.

I'm going now to buy the extra copy for my son I was going to buy in a week or so.
He's 6 and has stolen the copy I bought yesterday. Out of interest he really loves Burning Up - played it about 4 times this morning before school. Doesn't bother him it didn't top the charts ;} Very good choice for this cd!
Off to purchase now! Maybe I'll do the job of putting Madonna's cd over every other album in tesco's while I'm in there!!!

I think the fact that Tesco have it featured in a good position in the store (special new music display box and Number 1 in their charts) - means that a lot of casual supermarket shoppers are going to snap this up.
I see this week as very importan to get number one - maybe her only chance with the album BUT I think peak sales weeks will come later this year.
I'd like M's camp to get her to do some promotion for it! Confirm the X factor and get her on the European MTV awards maybe Children in need in the UK like she did with Hung Up.
This compilation still has a lot of potential! BIG sales will come.
Finally - does this midweek sales include all the pre orders? From HMV and amazon?

I bought the cd today in tesco uk.
They only had the double!
Number 1 in their chart.
Listened to it. Can't hear the problems posted on here!

Ad in x factor was very good. I think dermot oleary the x factor presenter did the VoiceOver on the celebration tv ad.

As much as I'd love a #1 in the UK - what I want more is big sales in the run up to Xmas .
November 1 was rumoured x factor date but it's all gone quiet.
She needs to push big with this album as success will set her in a good position for the first live nation album. She needs promotion and advertising .

If warner are doing the video they'll drag up Maradonna and little jimmy crankey and hope the fans don't notice

The Queen of Pop Vera Lynn is #1 just now in the album chart.
Yes but Vera is a ruthless publicity machine!
She's pulled out the stops throughout her career and this release has seen her go to extremes

I mean it's going to do well because it's a greatest hits from the queen of pop! However if they spend some money on advertising and she does some real promotion it could be massive!
I'm in the uk and would be disappointed with anything less than 1 million by Christmas!

Uk love greatest hits! Whitney did one last year that sold 400,000 plus with no promotion whatsoever! Celine did over 450,000 with her my love collection too. I'd consider M to over double these sales!

BUT on this song people say she's no longer the Queen! How stupid!!! Does her career depend on single chart positions? No
She's the queen because of her long career! If she never had another hit she'd still be the queen forever!
Let's see how well the album does here in the uk. I still think that's where the big sales will come! Still think a million for Xmas here in the uk !
As for people saying gaga is the new queen. Well I like her stuff and she's breaking download records.... Let's see how she's doing in 25 years

I think the whole Frozen thing is stupid but they better replace it with something and not leave it missing 1 song.

Vera has always promoted her music and has done anything for success!
It's rumoured she even started World War 2 to boost her (at the time) flagging singing career.
With the new hits package she gets remixes by timberland and timberlake, duets with britney and is given the Will I am treatment.
92 year old Vera insists that while her sugar is "still raw" it's remains rationed as it was in WW2.

Re the DVD - on play the amaray is 12.99 and digipack is 14.99
Is there any reason why the more expensive one will be better?

Yes she should take a break for herself. For her family too.
I think the next album will be different more mature maybe. I think we will get great effort from live nation to promote re videos etc.
On the subject of sexy M. I always say The Power Of Goodbye was one of her sexiest videos. She was vulnerable yet powerful and so much was implied. Maybe that's the way her sexiness will go. And yes I still believe she will be sexy forever!!!

Today I improved celebration on my iPod.
I added a couple of more songs that fit in sound quality wise
Angel - from the remastered LAP album
True Blue - from the remastered TB album
Get Together - UK single version
American life - uk single version
Give it 2 me - uk single version
I also swapped 4 minutes for the cd single version.
I as delighted with the album originally but now I love my own version!!!
Just wish some of the other albums were remastered so they'd fit sound wise. Deeper and deeper , playground and rain didn't match with the remastered songs
