  1. :wow:

TORTURE! March 26th can't come soon enough!

I'm sure by the time the album is due the promotion will be in full swing.

Does anybody know anything about the iTunes bonus tracks? I mean will they be remixes or possibly new songs. I know a song called Kids has been mentioned somewhere and that SIA did a song with M that was rumoured to be on but then was off the album.

Also I've preordered the album from iTunes UK - can anyone tell me how do I get the pre order? Will they email or will it just be there on the 26th?

  2. Madonna can never please everybody. She takes a risk and releases something unexpected, while some don't like it she usually gains new fans who like it. And next time it happens again.

As for UK. It would be Top 10 if they counted her all sales like everywhere else. People who got it with the album (excluded sales) won't buy it again.

I'm from the UK and have pre ordered MDNA deluxe on iTunes when it was first available and haven't bought the song again. I think the label clearly have focused on getting good album sales rather than the single in the top 10.

If I'm honest radio haven't supported this track really and the general public here probably don't know she has a song out. I know when I look on iTunes I tend to see what's in the top 10 or possibly 20 and then purchase the odd song . I think few people actually scroll down the top 100. If those single sales had been allowed and she'd been in the top 10 I'm sure she would have got more casual sales.

I also think in the UK Madonna is certainly NOT over. Nor have we turned our back on her. She will top the albums chart and the tour dates will do well here and keep selling nearer the time of the concert. BUT she does need to promote over here. Perform on TV. Magazines. Radio push - get interviews etc. The UK is a solid Market that she will always be able to succeed in but she has to do something to remind us of her brilliance. The Superbowl was amazing but only hardcore fans in the UK would have stayed up to watch it or record it. News did cover it but although it was positive it was only short lived.

I see GMAYL as a fun catchy song with great video. Is it a Madonna classic? No. It isn't her best lead single and doesn't compare to music or hung up but it's fun and fitted in well with superbowl. I do think her next song Girls Gone Wild will do the business in Europe. I also think MDNA will sell very well and at the end of 2012 we won't be focused on the chart position of GMAYL at all.

One final thing. There's a lot of nasty comments about Madonna, other artists and even between people on the forum. It's just not necessary. It's possible to love Madonna and lots of the other bands and artists that are around. Let's all enjoy the work she's done and her continuing success!

  3. Although not her signature song, here in the UK Beautiful Stranger had a massive impact and was generally loved by lots of people I know (many who did not previously like M).

Holiday is another possible M signature song.

Difficulty is that she's had many great, much loved, songs over the years and has stood the test of time - making it difficult to select a signature song.

Maybe just maybe a signature song may come on the next album ;)

    Long reign The Queen!!!!!

  4. Where is this tracklist from please?

I can't find the tracklist online so hoping it's fake.

Also if Guetta has only reworked Revolver would he have worked with M in the studio? He didn't record the original vocal and she didn't re record it with him so I guess she wouldn't turn up and meet Guetta to hear a remix?

I really think if he was nervous working with or meeting her it has to mean a new single... That's what I'm hoping for anyhow

does anyone know if Guy O has commented on it?

  5.

I really hope it's not Revolver - feel a bit conned if it is as it does sound like Guetta is pushing a 'NEW' song that isn't already out there....

I was praying for a great radio song that would do for M what Beautiful Stranger did for her in 1999 - e.g. fill in the gap between albums and remind radio how GREAT she is in a quiet time musically for her .

    Still until it's officially confirmed as Revolver I can keep hoping ;}

  9. I look forward to laroux albums and tours in 30 years! LOL

It's so easy to attack M and get headlines but the truth is the fact they constantly refer to her means she IS still relevant!

By the way I think Little Boots are so much better than laroux! I find laroux music sounds like a cheap unfinished demo.

  10. I bought that video collection in my asda today.

They had single cd, double and DVD in the cd size case.

There were a few people looking at the cd. One girl said 'I'm going to get my mum this'

Think it's gonna sell solidly to Xmas

Do these DVD sales in the cd box count as DVD or cd sales?

  11. I hate to admit it but its true. Warner have thrown this project together cheaply because they simply can't afford to be spending money on an artist who has no real further financial benefit to them. They're not making anywhere near what they used to 10 or 20 years ago. They really won't make that much on this compilation, and if they aren't able to release anything further of Madonna from here she's a worthless investment.

Madonna is already making alot of money with Live Nation, alot more than she has made for Warner in recent times. Meanwhile, anyone who downloads instead of buying music from any artist at all can be held accountable. Record labels are going to be dead soon enough. For Madonna it's not a bad thing. I can see her Live Nation products being of much higher quality because they will have the profit to justify spending lots of recording, packaging, marketing etc. So that is the positive side to all this. She's got a better deal now and I bet she has been desperate to move on from Warner in the last few years.

I know that you say they are throwing this collection together cheaply but I don't see it as an excuse for the mistakes.

1- getting the songwriting credits wrong is unforgivable. Even a small label would have no excuse!

    2. The sounds on music that shouldn't be there- again unforgivable. Have they no quality control.

    3. Releasing a remastered best of will make money with reduced outlay! They don't have to pay for a new album to be recorded and mixed. Marketing costs are the main spend on a project like this.

WB have let her and us down with the mistakes but there is a lot to be happy with here and I'm pleased that she is doing well with the album in the charts. I hope the USA gets behind her. Fingers crossed it will be uk #1 todAy.

  12. Has anyone managed to get a response from Guy and Warners?

I'm sure they will correct any mistakes for future pressings.

I did notice Music today on another cd player. And I seem to have to turn revolver up to hear it as well.

The booklet mistakes are unforgivable. If I was one of the uncredited songwriters I'd be so angry. Maybe it's the people who made these songs that will kick off and get things changed.

I can't believe they let the cd inlay mistakes happen and I can't see why they haven't said anything yet.

To end with the positives I'm still happy with the majority of this album. Into the groove and who's that girl sound amazing and like a prayer is to die for!!! Lovely.

I'm loyal to M and always will be but the mistakes on this make me feel like Warners are sending her off with a kick in the teeth rather than the fanfare she richly deserves!
