Yes! It's sick! If only this was a single instead of... anyway, THIS IS HARDCORE RAVEDONNA!
This would have made all of us very happy, but it wouldn't do well on U.S. radio at all. It's too techno/weird. It's a good buzz single though. They really need to let the public hear some of these the way they released "The Edge of Glory," "Hair," etc. from Gaga's album. In fact, TEOG only became a single because of the great response. So if they released something like IA to iTunes and it shot into the Top 10, radio might pick it up and it could become a hit. Who knows, maybe they're planning something like that in the coming weeks.

This is what I'm saying. When Madonna does something right/hot/interesting, I will GIVE IT UP to her. I hope the rest of the album sounds like this. And honestly, I can get past the cheesy mainstream sound of GGW. But not those lyrics/vocals.
-
OH MY GOD.
-
E-single? Confusing. Is it a single or isn't it? I think doing what they did with some other recent album (like Born This Way), where they released a new track to iTunes every week leading up to the album release would be a good idea.
-
I like the idea of another segued album, although I don't necessarily think it needs to be everything. It would be interesting if it was divided into three sections.

I liked many of the remixes during the AL and COADF era. I also liked the Celebration/Revolver remixes, but that probably had more to do with the fact that I hate the original versions. The HC remixes did suck though. It's the only era where I don't own any of the singles.

Her vocals sound deeper on that demo, like something from the 90s. SIGH. I can get over bad lyrics if the vocals are good, and vice versa, but not both.

MEDIABASE: MADONNA - Girl Gone Wild: 0.044 (+ 0.034)
is it a good sign?
No. I've played the song that my times in my bedroom already.
-
maybe orchestral version is a myth?
The version that's been released IS the orchestral version. Those strings you hear? They're real.
-
If the video is indeed shot in B&W I'm sure there will be color effects.
-
The hook to "Celebration" is better. The verses to both are about equally horrendous, but it's the way she sings the words that give GGW an edge. And the production at least sounds somewhat current.
And Cher did have a minor follow-up hit with "Strong Enough." I heard that on the radio all the time in 1999.

^ ROL, Music and AL weren't really dance albums.
-
I have issues with it (shocker), but I've already listened to this more times than I've listened to GMAYL in the last four months.
-
I love the Interview photo shoot, but I can't help but feel like the description we're hearing just sounds like that shoot in video form, like GI2M. Aside from shirtless men, not one detail is different from the photo shoot.

Sounds like an awful poem someone quickly wrote. Sorry, but I call "fake" once again.
So...you mean like a poem Madonna wrote? Remember that horrible thing she recited in I'm Going to Tell You a Secret?
-
^ Maybe it will shake some sense into them?
-
^ But I thought the boxing motif was the original theme? Didn't the belt say "Give It 2 Me"? What a mess of a project.

They were by no means perfect, but sometimes I feel like Madonna fans are similar to housewives that get cheated on by their spouse and then only blame the mistress and not the husband. In the end, M is responsible for her career. If she has some disappointments due to her mistakes, maybe she will come back better next time.
I mean you can blame "Warner Bros." for a lot things, but in the end it was just a revolving door of different people and executives. The same people who were making decisions for Hard Candy were not the same ones who were making decisions for AL, ROL, LAP, etc. Anyway, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to listen to CS and 4M and decide which one would make a better single. The fact that the leaked version of CS was identical to the released version was reason enough NOT to release it as a single, let alone the lead single. Unfortunately, Madonna/Interscope wound up making that same mistake with GMAYL. Except, I think I like CS more? It's at least listenable if you ignore the lyrics and dated Pharrell sound. The hook is good.
-
Sounds hot. I hope the look is similar to the Interview shoot...but with a plot/concept or something.
-
I remember both CS and GI2M being discussed as album titles, not lead singles. From what I recall reading, Madonna wanted CS and the label wanted 4M. I remember this vividly because while I had issues with "Die Another Day," "American Life," and "Hung Up" (DAD and HU went on to grow on me enormously), it was the CS rumor when I realized that Madonna had truly lost her good instincts.
-
Meh. I was really just making a joke, but really, I don't believe there's anyone living today who's never liked anything Madonna has released prior to GMAYL. It's like statistically not possible. Unless it's a Nicki or M.I.A. fan. There's nothing about GMAYL that Madonna hasn't done before, and better. "Cherish" and "Beautiful Stranger" both have a '60s vibe, for example.
-
"Are you walking the dog, cause that dog isn't new." Need I say more? In fact, the dog without a bone thing is the only part of the review that sounds realistic!
-
^ Well, seeing as how the majority of singles Madonna has released are good/great/amazing, it makes sense that people who never liked anything she put out before would like GMAYL! They have horrible taste!
-
I totally buy that Madonna wanted GMAYL and the label didn't. However the rest of that "review" is questionable. I doubt anyone at the label is pissed at M.I.A., and I doubt they'd remove her from the song. The album is done. Some of those descriptions sound whack, but that horrible "dog without a bone" lyric is definitely something M would write!

For those who hear COADF in this song, I'm guessing you mean the Mirwais tracks/b-sides, because I don't hear Stuart Price at all. His sound is much cleaner, more...sanitized? This sound dirty.
