So they are " focused on the tour" but she still finds time to promote her latest perfume

    :lmao:

exactly. how reductive. oh, maybe this is another non-traditional promo for MDNA.

  2. what's more, do they really intend to rely all on the non-traditional promo? they need to at least have a fall back plan, to promote it with performances and interviews on tv. they can do less of it, but still do it! how can the tour be a reason to cut down on these? the tour can start a month later, and the tickets can still be sold right after superbowl. there would be almost no effect since they can continue to add shows into 2013. the promo however can't wait. once it loses steam it's hard to pick up. and they also lose the chance to hit at any of the chart records.

That's exactly what i'm trying to say. oh well, it's a woulda coulda shoulda situation, and it's all up to M now (as all you ppl say).

  3. ^^

I know the concert is important for her, but they could have done what she did for Confession and Sticky & Sweet Tours. There was a plan for success there. Why reinventing the wheel?

I just think the timeline is all wrong. she should be free from rehearsal on her debut week. Just one week to promote the god damn album!

maybe they should have just postponed the tour a month or so. they're exhausting the queen.

  4. Let's just flash back to COADF please -

    Australia

    Japan

    etc. etc.

    + generic junket type things...

    I'm just SAYING...

even there was a mini concert at Roseland Ballroom for HC promo, and hundreds of ppl were waiting in line just to see her. i can just SIGH!

  5. I can't wait for the next album launch: You can only get a copy by buying a $400 concert ticket.

I guess that's what going to happen from now on. You have to buy the concert ticket to get an (free) album. But hello? She can't fucking go on tour when she turns 60. she'll fucking die on the stage!

Perhaps they're planning on the Truth Or Dare Bundle. Buy an overpriced perfume bottle, get a free MDNA album. is it going to be like this from now on?

I just can't believe that the tour is more important than the album. they should have the same priority! I think it's all SNAFU at interscope/livenation.

Most of my friends and colleagues at work had no idea she even had a new album out.

I played it at work and a lot of people were saying, "Oh I had no idea she has a record out."

And most "close friends" that I forcefeed Madonna to (we all do it - don't be shy) have all really liked "Girl Gone Wild" and "Masterpiece".

I've yet to meet a single person (non-hardcore fan) that actually liked GMAYL.

Suedehead, you're so right. Not many ppl know her new album is out YET! And i thought non-traditional promo work. what a joke.

  6. why would she release anything radio friendly when the radio stations don't even play any song from her latest album? either interscope or M picked the wrong single choice from the start. There are so many potential tracks on this album, but they picked GGW instead of I'm Addicted/Love Spent/Gang Bang. Now I kinda doubt if they will ever pick any good song as a single.

Again, don't even bother with TUTR. it will go nowhere.

  7. LUV Madonna, but this is boring as hell so far. Too many shout outs to celebs. All the kiss assing to Perez. C'mon? Answer some interesting questions? I like to hear more about her music, tour and her thoughts on state of her singles.

sure this will be her last. it's getting annoying so far. i wanna hear shit about the tour and mdna.

  9. lol reQuiem4ahole I would have gone ballistic had I not avoided this forum and saw the spoiler description in the subtitle, wonder when you added that. Though I'm getting more of an "Isaac" than "Shanti" vibe here.. but same difference really, cut from the same cloth.

And call me naive but I really didn't expect Orbit to recycle quite so many of his old stuff and expected more forward thinking new stuff, it's a shame but in that sense he really is a one trick pony. That very tired shuffling "Beautiful Stranger" beat crops up god how many times. It is forgiveable though as the songs are all so strong.

Oh loomer. You're not naive. I can guarantee, Orbit will be using his signature "BS" beat again and again. I'm sure he was producing these tracks as a filler for each album; however, all of his tracks with this "same shit different bowl" beat (he must have a name for it) turned out more than decent. Amazing almost got cut as a single. I'm A Sinner is a good contender as well. I kinda wonder, if he gets to work with M again, what the next sibling would be called. Amazing Beautiful Sinner? :lmao:

PS i love my new name :lmao:

  10. The album redemption is kinda lame, because it's the clean version of MDNA, which leaves off the most important song on the album, Gang Bang  FLOP.

Live Nation planned this so well by putting up the clean version for redemption. Of course, they had to leave out the best track Gang Bang whereas Some Girls was still included. This forced ppl to go out there to buy or order online for the explicit version. I also think the deluxe edition played a good part in this as well since it was on sale from $7.99 (fab.com) to $13.99, so I bet most people have at least two albums (even plus the Superbowl pre-orders). This is why the first week sale numbers are so high!

I guess the redemption this time is about 25% which is about 90k. (did the number come out?). that's pretty high compared to what lionel richie has to go through to sell near 200k.

Good strategy, even better, without tiring the queen!
