Oh my god i see a handful of empty seats and people possibly walking towards the exit before the show starts. I hope this complete tour flopage does not overshadow the her inspirational speech.
But to be serious I am pleased she said what she said. Nothing will happen to her. The regime will not arrest the biggest star in the world for speaking out as it would show them for exactly what they are, and cause diplomatic incidents. They obviously did not expect the backlash they have had against their stance on Pussy Riot, and are now, in their eyes, stuck between and rock and a hard place, show weakness and release them or bring on the full force of the law and appear to be going backwards into a totalitarian communist regime.

I love the excitement from the media when Madonna visits new places or places she has only been once or twice before. Its like a (real) royal visit. How I wish there was still that excitement in the UK.
-
now they gotta give away 10,000 tickets in a matter of hours!
Maybe M and her crew will be outside before the show giving tickets away, after all selling only 40,000 is such a failure! Isn't that what happened in Vienna?
-
actually, i just talked to a friend who was there working for her and she said that the reason why she was over 1 hour late was: she didn't wanted to perform in front of 'not so many' people so her tame went outside of the stadium and gave people tickets for free.
So there were lots of people just passing by who got free tickets, and happened to have nothing to do so went to the show? What a crock of shite.
Its not like she is Kylie, Janet or Mariah and cant move tickets in some areas. The boxscores have proved that. Can some people just get that through their heads?
-
I think he pounded her good and went down on her sweet hair pie, and then she was like "oh, I gotta get going. Don't call me, I'll call you." And that was that.
You know her special place is as smooth as baby's bottom, and I can imagine his is too. I bet he rode her like a horse, probably anally as well. I wonder if she spits or swallows, or maybe he is a felcher?

Stunning numbers for Edinburgh. I just wish the papers would now print it and show that all the talk of low ticket sales and attendance was just a pile of shite. Hopefully the next time she tours she will play a few nights in the new arena in Glasgow.
-
We will see when the box score comes out but I expect 40,000+ at Edinburgh and 30,000+ at Dublin. Madonna is the only artist I know who can sell that many tickets and people call it a failure. We know she charges $1 millions plus per show, so I have no doubt that Dublin made way more than this otherwise they would have cancelled. And to be honest if the tour has under performed in some markets, then she will need to re-think her strategy, and that can only be a good thing.

what does that mean?
Hen is a term used when addressing a girl / woman. Basically it means "go for it"

In a stadium gig with GA standing in Europe, each person is allocated a specific amount of space on the pitch. What happens is everyone pushes forward so there will always be a gap at the back and side. This has happened in every stadium gig I have been to in Europe. Its due to health and safety law and to avoid the pitch being so full people cannot move.
I was there, the stadium was 90% full. There were a couple of empty sections on the back left hand side, but everywhere else was full or near full. This show is a success, and will probably be the biggest single grossing show in Scottish history. There is no other female artist in the world right now who would be able to fill the stadium like Madonna did. When she tours next we will have the new 12,000 seat arena in Glasgow. Hopefully she will come and do two or three nights at that.

Ok lets take stock of last night. To begin the stadium was about 90% full, a couple of empty sections but a huge amount of people at the gig. Personally I was surprised how many people were at the show. She came one just after nine, by which time the crowd was in a state of frenzy. One of the best crowds I have ever had at a Madonna show and they went insane when she came on. The show was amazing, she was in a brilliant mood and the stage is just stunning. Everyone around me was on their feet singing and dancing all through, we never sat down once. A huge amount of love for her.
All the songs were well received, particularly the old ones, and yes I was disappointed she cut a couple of songs but most people would be unaware of this as they are not Madonna geeks like us. Its her perogative to change her show, most artists do it, she has not signed a legally binding contract with us to perform a specific set list, so get over it. For me the only song that did not work was Revolver.
I was sitting with two women who had never seen her before and they said they did not know her new stuff, but they sang and danced all the way through and after the show vocalised how she had completely blown them away and it was much better than they expected. Like watching a movie, they said.
My friends on the other side complained of sound problems, but I believe this was the acoustics of the venue.
Overall a brilliant well received show. How this can be reviewed badly, I have no idea, but hey this is Madonna and people hate her for the fact of who she is.

Amazing show, brilliant crowd. Will post more info later when home, but fuck the doom mongers!

Plus, anyone think this free ticket "leak" was done on purpose to guarantee filled seats?
I just find it odd how they are going to let people use the tickets for free when usually they cost £90 a head.
No. They would give them away in competitions. She has sold 40,000+ tickets to the show so she does not need to give away freebies. Even if there are empty sections, it will still be a massive success, probably one of if not the the largest single gross in Scottish history.

I wonder what time she will come on? I am hoping she reverts back to 10pm+ as I want it to be as dark as possible.
Whatever happens I am sure she will get an amazing reception for her first Scottish show.
-
Anyone know how much the tickets will be?
-
The show started a few minutes ago.
Interesting. Its not like M to care!
-
The Mayor of London said the show at the weekend should not have been cut off. They have tried to blame Health and Safety and they have replied saying it was not a health and safety issue. I think Live Nation over reacted. I will be very interested to see when she comes on, and will be surprised if its within the next hour.

I bet this is one of her most dreaded shows on the tour she knows its gonna piss it down, she'll get ripped to shreds by the media even if she puts on the greatest show of her entire life, the audience will no doubt be shit and shes gotta perform three quarters of the show in broad daylight
i agree she should fuck England off on the next tour.
The weather forecast is ok for tomorrow, 70 degrees, dry and cloudy. No rain forecast.
-
its tomorrow
Is it? Christ my days are fucked up!, i have put the 17th on all my work correspondence today! All this talk of peope already waiting had me thinking it was today as well.

Sounds like a perforated ear drum. See your GP for antibiotics and possible referral to an ENT surgeon, but a lot of them heal with simple antibiotics and time.
You can go and see the out of hours GP tonight and get a prescription.

Its all went quiet on the London front. Anyone reporting? Has she started?
-
Ticket master cancelled my fucking tickets to the show, just found out today. Have managed to get more but they did not have the decency to tell me. Its just by chance I called to ask why I had not received them!
Anyway there are ten of us going, including my mother. Is this a common theme in Edinburgh? And yes Edinburgh is a stunning city.
-
If the curfew is 10:15 I guess she can't start the show too late.
I recall the same discussions before S&S at Wembley and she started late. She does not care, and I cant see the promoter switching her off!

Russia's Deputy Prime Minister just called her an ex-whore on twitter. Just reported on BBC Radio 2 News. According to BBC he used the strongest insulting word that can be possibly used in Russia.
