  1. It's incredibly embarrassing to me.. all this faux ghetto talk. It makes her look like an arse hole.

I have to agree with you. Faux ghetto on anyone is embarrassing.

When I see the likes of Banana wearing a ThugLife T shirt etc it makes me cringe. What does it mean anyway?

I think ghetto is generally misogynistic and hate when I see women buy into it. I don't think a lot of them actually appreciate the meaning behind a lot of what is said and how a lot of it is incredibly sexist, degrees women and treats them as nothing better than holes to be filled.

  2. MDNA Tour had:

    Papa Don't Preach

    Hung Up

    Express Yourself

    Open Your Heart

    Justify My Love

    Vogue

    Erotica

    Human Nature

    Like A Virgin

    Like A Prayer

which were all classic staple M hits, so I'm not really understanding this "lack of classics" talk.

Madonna has so many hits that you can never cover them all, but of what you list above, PDP was about one minute long, Hung Up was a very different version, as was LAV, Erotica (was actually Candy Shop mash up), JML was an interlude etc.

We are hardcore fans who love the dark and dangerous stuff.

The reality is that less people are interested in her new stuff (unless she can have another success like COADF). She will always get an audience, but a lot of that audience wants to see a lot of classic hits. Its not unreasonable to expect that.

  3. So, Re-invention had the hits so that the tickets would sell? I don't think the setlist was known at the time most tickets were sold.

I don't think Madonna will ever have trouble to sell a tou and I don't think she will change her setlist that much. She has the some amount of classics every tour from 2006 onwards.

As a fan i take everything:)

She has no trouble selling a tour but a tour marketed with greatest hits would bring many man casual fans out who would not normally go to her concerts.

  4. I have already voted by post and decided to leave the country for the referendum to somewhere more politically stable, Israel. For interest, I voted no. I believe Scotland and the rest of the UK is better as a Union, and that there are far too many unanswered questions around the issue of independence.

  5. Oh and Wright, why did you go to Germany for a pop concert in the first place? Let me tell you, generally speaking German audiences always suck!

We spend a few weekends a year in Berlin so thought I would combine my favourite city in the world with Madonna. I did not expect the audience to be such a dud.

Still in love with Berlin though. Just not for a concert.

  6. Do we really care how much they say Madonna has? I am sure she does not. $500 million or more, she has a shitload of money we can only dream of.

There are better and bigger things to get exercise over, other than how much money Madonna does or does not have.

  7. And that's what this conversation is about. It just seems very strange, I mean, we're not Ruby Wax, so we can't relate or understand to how she was feeling during the taping of that interview. But when watching all the vids, it's like she was psychologically hurt from talking to Madonna. And it's all just a big ol' "huh?" Cause the interview was very fun, she wasn't afraid to ask questions about aging and relationships, and Madonna wasn't afraid to answer them. Madonna kinda let her guard down and had fun during it too, which rarely everrrrrr happens.

Ruby has had well documented issues with mental health, so we may never really understand why she feels the way she feels. It might be that she felt this was her big chance to join the A list of interviewers and she blew it. She has however done some great interviews.

  8. what is funny is that she actually thinks she could have done better or taken control over a conversation with Madonna...shes madonna, you just have to ride that wave and make sure its not too hot in the room.

she didnt do a bad job in the first place...she even asks the audience after showing the clip 'see where i went wrong?'...the audience is like 'ummm...no....'

she could have used other interviews but she chose the biggest celebrity, giving credence to her credibility as interviewer who once landed big names. she also discusses madonna as if madonna is some elusive wild animal 'i shouldn't have looked into its eyes...its smelled my fear'

She obviously thinks she could have handled it better, and it bothers her. A good interviewer can lead and control the conversation, and take it in a particular direction, Ruby did not do that.

  9. She's being critical of herself while at the same time implying that Madonna isn't likeable (she failed to find something to like), that Madonna has delusions of grandeur, and compared it to interviewing OJ Simpson.

I don't see that as an insult. Most major stars can be unlikeable at points. M has had interviews where she has come across as a bitch and unlikeable, and interviewers have said such. Others have reported the opposite.
