Madonna sold 78.300 tickets for Stade de France and 48.000 for Nice. Source: ticket net.

If this is true then much more in Nice as S&S was around 41k, and more in Stade de France for one date as she averaged around 69k each date S&S?

  2. ‘Granny in fishnets’ Madonna fails to draw Murrayfield crowds

No tickets for seated or standing are available on Ticketmaster now, so would say its sold out. I know secondary tickets are available, but thats the same for every artist. Only with Madonna can people turn her selling out a stadium into a negative.

  3. Are all of these pieces written by interns who were born just 5 years ago? Maybe they should compare Gagas Tour to the Who's that Girl tour to have a more reliable perspective taking into consideration the number of years both women were in business and the number of albums released. So, Madonna sold out (old) Wembley stadium in 18 hours TWICE. 144.000 tickets.

But they wont as it does not make for a good headline, and to be honest saying such things makes us sound like Kylie fans who blamed the snow for Aphrodite flopping. I am happy to accept that in some markets Gaga will sell more records / more tickets. Throughout Madonna's career there have been artists who outsell her at a particular time, but there have been few who have had been as consistently successful as Madonna and who can charge such prices for a concert ticket and still sell out large venues. Best to ignore the negative articles. They have been printing them since 1984 and Madonna is still here and seen many "successors" come and go.

What a terrible and very sexist article. Male artists of Madonna's age do not receive such treatment, people don't go on about U2, Prince, Bruce Springsteen etc because of their age. Once again it shows that despite the move to equality, women of a certain age are judged completely differently from men, and the sad thing is in a lot of cases, it perpetuated by women.

Does anyone know the true picture with regards to the Murrayfield show?

  5. Live Aid 2005 had about 200,000 in Hyde Park. So Live Nation will just add tickets all the time as long as people are trying to buy them.

i think the rules have changed and they cant take anywhere near as much as this now. Isn't it around 65k maximum?

  6. Does that mean it's not sold out yet? Otherwise, why bother? :(

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think the first batch of tickets have went, and they have released more? Hyde Park can expand to accommodate (unlike a stadium or arena) It will be sold out as if they have sold 50,000 tickets then that will be how much were "available". If they can sell 10,000 more then all the better

I am going to the Edinburgh show. Does anyone know how many tickets have been sold for that? I am guessing 60,000+?

  7. this is the beggining of the end!!!! scary!!!

Bullshit. Never count Madonna out. As I said elsewhere, she just needs to stop resting on her laurels and do some fucking promotion. No artist can rely on their name alone these days. Whether we like to admit or not, no artist is so big that they don't need to promote their product. She went to town for W.E, so why not for this? And don't give me this shite about the tour is so soon, they choose that timescale and maybe just maybe in the future they need to re-think it. As for her not being in the know, thats no excuse. She should not remove herself so much that she cannot see the wood for the trees.

  8. Can someone tell me what the fuck is happening here in the UK with this album and potential singles? It is one of her biggest markets and two weeks post album release I hear nothing.

I know her tour dates have sold well, Edinburgh is near sold out with only seats at the back of the stadium left, I am sure Hyde Park will have at least 50,000 people at it and Birmingham has sold well, but she can do so much more.

  9. In Buenos try and book a place in 'Palermo' it was my fave district. there are lots of apartments there like this: http://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/29990

If youre going down south theres a great town you can fly to cheaply 'Bariloche' its so cute. The whole country is amazing, the clubs and bars are great, the huge gay one in BA is about £5 to get in and you get free drinks all night. There are even beer fountains, you can pour your pints yourself.

Thanks mr. Booked the Axel Hotel already. Dirt cheap, less then 50 quid a night for both of us.

  10. Soo jealous. I went a couple of years ago you will LOVE it!!! :wow: They love madge there soo much, she is everywhere. I was gobsmacked.

Hardly anybody speaks English though, they look at you like you are from another planet.. its hard to buy anything. OMG I wish I was coming with you, Argentina is the best place on the planet.

Yeah very excited too, but have Athens and Egypt before then. Any tips on places to visit in Argentina or Chile greatly appreciated.

  11. Did he really shit on the floor? Honestly :rotfl:

Surely not? Even Pete Burns would not go that low, or would he? Imagine rimmig that chocolate starfish.

Boy George has apologised recently for everything he said, admitted he has been an arse hole. What is interesting is one of the writers on MDNA, Alain Whyte, is Morrissey's main song writing partner and was his lead guitarist. What a small world.

  12. Not sure if she will as it would mean three shows in a row as she is playing London on the 17th, Birmingham on the 19th and Edinburgh on the 21st, unless she does before or after the London and Edinburgh dates where there is a bigger gap.

  13. Brussels is the same mess.

I wish people would stop getting their knickers in a twist over sell outs or not (I used to be one of these people but now think differently on it). So many people have complained about ticket prices and large venues. If the tour does not do as well in defined markets as expected then they will have to re-think their business model for next time, smaller venues, cheaper prices, more promotion. Sometimes an artist and their management can take things too much for granted, and need a wake up call.

Hyde Park will "sell out". Its not a stadium with a pre-defined seating and space. The venue can shrink if needed, so if there are 30,000 people it will be full as the space will be for 30,000 people. That being said the fact there was a week with tickets unavailable makes me think that the original allocation has sold and they have released more tickets. Plus its not until July, a lot can shift between now and then. S&S at Wembley did not sell out until a few days before the show.

  14. I have seen lots of songs on set lists that I have not necessarily been fond of, but Madonna has the ability to take a weak song and make the performance great. I hated Mother and Father before RIT, but live it was amazing, and I now have a new fondness for the song. Other weak songs well performed, in my opinion, include Get Together, Spanish Lessons and Candy Shop. I am relaxed about Revolver (if it is included) as the whole experience will, as always, be amazing.

  15. :nocomment:

It is not unusual for more tickets to be released, particularly once the stage dimensions have been finalised, or on a site like Hyde Park which can expand a little (did the same not happen with one of the Canadian shows)?

Does anyone know how many tickets have been sold for the Edinburgh gig?
