It's alright. I agree with the poster that said its in Jump territory, but slightly better than celebration.

i realy hate that fonzy hand gesture of hers... good thing she looks great in the video that it can be overlooked...
Oh my god that popped out at me too. I hope theres not too much of that, its really annoying. Love the single cover though, she looks like Megan Fox.

Completely agree! I havent instantly liked a song like this since the Music era.
-
She really needs to get someone else to write the lyrics, she uses the same ones over and over again. Shes been really uninspired lyrically for the past 8 years so I think its time to just let someone else do it. Other than that I think its a great fun album track, but not first single material.

I wonder how she would look like with her hair dyed blonde.
Gwen Stefani. To me she looks more like her than Madonna, which isnt much of a stretch as Gwen does look a lot like Madonna too, but my god Lourdes really reminds me of Gwen in these pictures.

The only two that I cant even make it through they're so bad are Human Nature and She's Not Me from S&S. Her screaming and screeching through them never fails to grate on my nerves.

I think people say she's not talented because she doesn't have an easily definable , obvious talent , like singing or songwriting. that doesn't mean she doesn't have it , otherwise she wouldn't have gotten as far as she did. It's there but it's not easily seen.
Thats so true. The main 'talent' she has is herself. The unique looks/personality/message. And the amount of confidence she had to back it up should be seen as a talent as well. Her music and singing abilities are average (for a a professional, shes much better than the average person though) but most people with average talent dont have everything else going for them the way she has.

She looks great, but I am sick of the blonde hair. I wish she would go dark again One can dream.
I'm sick of the shade of blonde. The dullest kind of blonde you can get. I wish she would either go much lighter or much darker blonde. Or streaks. Just something different. But other than that, the best shes looked in ages. She looks naturally youthful rather than tightly pulled.

Gwen Stefani or Mary-kate Olsen. Nah I think Lourdes is the only person who could pull it off. She's the only person who looks exactly like her. I hate watching biopics where the actor is uglier then the person, or has completely different features. Like Jonathon Rhys Meyers playing Elvis. He looked a bit like him but was nowhere near as attractive. And all the women who have ever played Marilyn haven't even remotely looked like her. Actually I only noticed the other day that Britney would be perfect to play Marilyn. They almost look exactly alike.
I cant think of anyone as similar to Madonna whos famous.

It actually doesnt sound as bad if you click on the site and read it with the bloggish type atmosphere. Reading it on here though definitley makes me gag a bit

Open Your Heart for favourite single/filmclip, and White Heat overall favourite song. It really is her best album though, everything about this era is perfect. I love how cartoon like she was.

Hmmm well I really dont see how Britney's copied Madonna. If anything shes taken much more from Janet. Christina's been more of a Madonna/Mariah hybrid. And Lady Gaga has only recently been imitating Madonna, for the most part of her career shes been pretty original (as original as anyone in the entertainment industry can be). Of course every popstar is bound to do something similar to Madonna, but Madonna has also gotten some of her ideas from others too. People probably asked the same question about Marilyn Monroe back in the day, actually you could still ask that about her now.
-
It gives off the same vibe as Christinas video. Why'd she have to be inspired from the same Madonna videos as her? I can just see the Christina fans saying OMG now Gagas copying her!

i dont need to convince anyone of anything. im convinced. i dont need approval of my thought process, im not a stupid weakling that speaks from the bung. you think what you want and i know what i know.
as i stated, michael was the pinnacle of stardom and madonna caught up to that in 87 with the whos that girl tour. she then left him eating her dust and attained stardom that is only reserved for those that have died. few others have achieved that in life - garbo being another.
that is why, madonna is a star to the stars.
And I would agree with you about Madonnas status but your refusal to acknowledge Michaels mega stardom and the fact that he achieved the highest kind of fame there is even when he was alive makes you seem in denial. Like your downplaying him to put Madonna higher when in fact they were equal alive and now Michael has the edge in death.
-
you know, i wish that QB wont have a real discussion because what is THE PLOT? madonna has the type of fame that is reserved ONLY for the dead (marilyn, james dean, presley, lennon) and has since 1989 when she left michael eating her dust with his 1987 pinnacle.
You sound like you're trying to convince people of the fact. Especially when it comes to Michael, you know now that hes dead he's the only other star in Elvis league. I love Madonna and theres no denying her Legendary status but I think the fact that she is living to an older age and theres no tragedy factor to her I cant see her being in the Elvis, Michael, Marilyn etc crowd. I see her becoming more the Brigitte Bardot, Paul McCartney, Liz Taylor kind of celebrity now.

WOW I havent been this impressed with a photoshoot in seemingly forever! The transition of her image from content English housewife to single older woman Vamp is complete, I love it! I hope she keeps it up throughout the whole era.

Crap videos aside, was she really that bad in 2000s?
No she wasnt complete crap, but it was too hit and miss, whereas it had always been hit for me prior to American Life. My biggest dissapointment was the crow vocals starting with RIT. I dont even really enjoy her voice anymore, its my love for her why I still follow and listen (and I still love the music every now and then). But I would enjoy the albums much more if she had the beautiful voice she used to have.
-
I have no concerns anymore. All my worst fears came true in the 2000's and even though it was dissapointing it has actually been quite freeing as now I have no expectations and can just enjoy her when shes good and just ignore it when shes not.

Almost exactly the same, just a less good looking version. Like looking in a carnival mirror.
