    It obviously is. Remember when GMAYL leaked in november? It was a SMASH (I even heard it on the radio more than twice), and it obviously affected the official sales. She should just drop the 1st single with a Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Madonna.com announcement once it drops on iTunes to help it spread a little faster than a leak would. That way you avoid leaks and the surprise factor will make it rise and rise on the charts.

    Not her best single but it was fun. Should have been only with Superbowl and then the real 1st single of MDNA...

    Madonna is at the same time the girl who sings GGW and the woman who can sing Falling Free.

    It's her artistic freedom to be all that...Some people are lost with that but I think it's great, you never know what's going on.

    She will have time to release an album that will be entirely conventional, without challenging what people think of what a woman in her 50's must be.She will have time to do so whenever she wants it.

    I don't see the comparison with Prism and the fact that it is full of singles. I think M's albums are full of potential singles too, they're just not exploited the way it used to be. Even in MDNA, many songs could have been singles and hits, but Madonna isn't 30 and radio won't support her in the same way than before.

    She will keep on doing exactly what she wants though. She's brave and fierce, and she can be vulnerable too. Why complain ?

    Of course we don't have (and we can't) like absolutely everything, but she keeps on entertaining us the way no other artist with this longevity had ever done. Never forget that !

    Without Madonna, with Justin only, 4 Minutes could not have made so good neither. Madonna made it work too !!

    The fact is that the song like this is very good, even if it's a very special song for Madonna.

    Madonna needs a legitimate Madonna only hit, and the last time that happened was during Confessions.

    You mean mega-hit for sure, cause GMAYL was top 10 charted almost everywhere.

    I know. It benefitted because it folowed 4 great COADF singles and the Justin connection. But it was shit. Everything went down from there...

    I disagree. I think 4 Minutes was a great single, no wonder why it became such a worldwide hit.

    Sure it doesn't represent M's pop, quite different but it's great music and it announced the RNB vibes of Hard Candy (great album to me).

    GMAYL should have been a Superbowl single, and not the lead for the album.

    Sure she can still have a top 10 hit, even a #1, but what is this depending on ?

    -quality of the single

    -promotion

    -good-looking M's face

    Feminists should be focussing on the fact that the media constantly put her age into her face... Do they say to prince he's 54 now ??

    I do think she's remaining true to herself and to who she wants to be, regardless on how old she is and no matter what people will say about it... she really doesn't care what people say, I like that.

    I read somewhere that American Life sold over 1 million copies in France alone and was quite popular there.

    Didn't she also give a speech to that effect in Paris on the ReInvention Tour?

    Yes, she did give a speech about France being the country where it sold the most, but the record sold around 450 000 not 1 million.

    Why is she so resistant to playing the hits properly?

    Thank God she doesn't doesn't repeat herself...

    I was a big MJ fan, but I was tired of him doing the same hits the same way everytime (and he was about to repeat it in THIS IS IT).

    OPEN YOUR HEART was everything in the MDNA Tour, and I liked the sticky version of VOGUE more refreshing than the MDNA version... Sure it chanllenges people not to hear the original versions everytime, but isn't that what Madonna does best. She wants that ! + it would be so boring for her to do things people expect her to do. I'm glad she really does her shows the way she wants them. I thinl people who go and see her performing live knows about that by now !

    Her legacy is affected in an ultra-positive way by reinventing her oldies. How exciting it must be for a new fan to discover all this incredible carreer...

    and by the way, it's not only the music, but the choregraphy, the moves.. she likes to change everything, it's an incredible amount of work. She should get credit for it, it's amazing and so much more interesting for us...

    I'm not saying it's great everytime (I don't like Hung Up in the tour, and we all have different tastes), but at least yes, she still works her ass off to propose relevant shows and music.
