I don't care what anyone says Holiday whips up the crowd like no other song.
Agreed - I watched the Sky broadcast and could imagine how perfectly it would fit after ITG, instead of the momentum dropping Heartbeat which was one of the low points of the first outing.
I love the side parting and it's nice to see the heir to her throne attending to show some respect.

I watched this and it reminded me how I was utterly underwhelmed by the show last year. It had moments of her usual genius - Into The Groove is in the top 10 of her live performances but it really was mediocre on the whole and it has the worst opening of a Madonna tour ever. I was glad I didn't get tickets for this year's trek.

MJ [They Don't Care About Us]
This should rocket following the release of the video.
-
Sounds perfectly PLAUSABLE to me - Madonna knows she has to latch on to the latest big thing to keep herself CURRENT
-
I agree entirely with the Independent review - the guy who did it was totally lacking in any objectivity and it seemed to be as much about the misconception that Kabbalah is a cult, as it was about her adopting African babies.
-
It would make sense to put the DVD out in September and the album out in November.

it's something...more obvious
Hits it is then.
Oh and at that tracklisting but it could be true - it would be just like Madonna to fill a disc with flops at the expense of bonafide hits. That said, I doubt she'd include American Pie and surely Rescue Me will be left off to maintain sales of TIC.

Only good thing is that I doubt anyone really watches channel 4 before 9.00 pm these days.

Saw a clip of this and it looks like it's going to be SCATHING - they said she chose both of them from a video line-up and that Mercy's father and grandmother didn't want her to go to Madonna.
-
I like Iconography - I just hope they don't subtitle it - The Greatest Hits but they couldn't in the US anyways as she's not exactly had many this decade. The title also suggests that it will only be the definitive hits that make the cut so we're looking at a 2 disc set.

I've heard loads of different sales quoted for Thriller - nevertheless, it was one of those one off phenomenons that I don't think could ever happen again.
-
Number Ones was four quid in HMV - I'm surprised they didn't hike the price but it must be due to a deal they've already done with the label.
I only have Bad on CD so I might buy the remasters of OTW, Thriller and Bad - is Dangerous any good?

Fuck GG. She lost any credibility when she went on Celebrity Big Brother.
And then chickened out of it.

Kay Burley on Sky News said that not even Madonna comes close to him in terms of sales.

I think it's more of a case of the public and media going through love/hate cycles as far as Madonna's concerned. She's got plenty more spells of ass kissing/ass kicking to come before she shuffles off the planet.
-
I wonder if Madonna will actually say something on camera? She's very dignified in such circumstances and wouldn't just film something for a bit of cheap publicity.
I don't think she'd hold a press conference or anything but I expect she'll reference it at the opening night of the tour in a week or so. She commented publically on Diana at the MTV awards and later on Oprah so she'll no doubt speak on the matter, when inevitably she's asked, in her next round of doing promo.
-
Another recurring comment I've been hearing is that Madonna and her music pretty much go hand in hand - you either love or hate both. Whereas with him, there were people who were crazy about him but there where those who thought he lived up to the Wacko tag but couldn't deny his genius as an artist.

One word - RESILIENCE. Many MANY opportunities for Madonna to go off the rails, fall into drug use while in NY or after some of the tremendous backlash and being a pariah from 92-94 - have a new respect for her inner strength - how many have been consumed by the fame now? Elvis, Janis, Jim, Jimi, Kurt, MJ, etc. etc. - Madonna keeps it goin - wow
It was evident from the start - I remember an article in the early days which commented on the Marilyn Monroe comparisons and said the big difference is that Madonna will never be found dead with a bottle of pills beside her.

He has three albums in the UK top 20 chart as of Friday's midweeks.
-
Paul Gambaccini said that he was the last popstar of his kind and quickly added, male popstar that is, we still have Madonna as the last big female act.
I don't think there'll ever be that sort of celebrity again, at least not in our lifetimes, and in both their cases, it was MTV that catapulted them to it.

Go screw yourself you poisonous little queen.
Some people were asking about the newly released seats at the O2 and I was advising them on the difference between side view and restricted view and how stage design affects it. It's called trying to help people from experience.
If you don't like people's posts, ignore them and move on. Nobody likes you, you have nothing of merit to say and just troll round this site posting bitter attacks of people who contribute a variety of opinions. You pathetic little twat.

None of Madonna's albums are in the HMV sales so I doubt there'll be any chart action on the back of the broadcast or UK dates.
One thing the MJ chart action has proved is that video still is the most effective medium for promoting songs with the ones that are being played on the music channels and in news reports doing better than those that don't have videos. It's a shame Madonna doesn't realise this and has let her standards slip of late.
