    I think you have to have been there to really appreciate the song's impact. Along with the video and MTV performance, it was really ground breaking and just this huge moment in music history when Madonna went global.

    However, it's a great pop song in its own right too but sometimes too many karaoke performances put a dampner on a great record!

    As I tried to word diffrerently in another post, I think her amazing tour performances of this song overshadowed the original version as time went by.

    I understand what your are saying, but if I was an exec at inter scope, I would have chosen to release GMAYL as a single, but it's one of my least fav songs on the album...hope this makes sense.

    We're splitting hairs here :lol: the question is "what are your 15 non-single favorites tracks ?" - it doesn't really matter if people add a "this one really had hit single written all over it" comment.

    I understand what you mean, but it depends on how you look at it, songs that should've been singles..I think from a record label exec marketing way I.e what song would get the most radio air play, sell the most,

    sometimes songs we like are not conventional or mainstream I.e songs that would sell the most,

    Sure but as a fan, when you say "this should have been a single", you generally mean that this song deserved more exposure, mainly because you love it.
