  1. LOL. The girls at my highschool have nothing on you guys.

Ooh, very nice. Love this.

I know, right? The bickering on this forum amazes me.

There are so many huge posts and it's like "Why bother writing that much over a petty internet argument?" Plus it's way too early in the morning for me to read all that.

I love that photo with the red backgroun dtoo. It'd make a nice poster.

  2. Oh, Ryan- he says he's considering a Britney Spears episode, after the manager expressed interest.

    From ew.com:

'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy on an all-Britney Spears episode: 'I'm interested'

    by Tim Stack

Good news for Britney Spears and Glee fans: series creator Ryan Murphy tells EW that an all-Britney episode of the hit Fox musical, an idea floated by Spears’ manager via twitter on April 21 after Tuesday’s all-Madonna Glee, is actually being considered. Says Murphy, “I’m interested in the Britney Spears idea. I’ve always loved her. I’m entertaining it. I think young kids would like that.” Murphy also says that he’s contemplating doing similar hour tributes to Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin, and, even, Courtney Love! “I actually ran into Courtney Love the other day and talked to her,” says Murphy. “She’s interested. I would love to have the kids do a Courtney Love episode one day.” But he stresses that with all of these artists it really all comes down to the music and how it fits in the Glee universe. “The key is the songs in the catalogue have to have a certain degree of theatricality,” says Murphy.

With the “Power of Madonna” soundtrack set to debut at #1 next week and dominating the iTunes download charts, Murphy says Madonna has been more than pleased with their treatment of her tunes. “She said how much she loved the episode,” he admits. “She thought it was brilliant and she’s so pleased. Her daughter got to watch it with her and loved it. [Madonna's] a smart cookie. I mean that introduced her music to an entire new generation.”

I can't believe he's considering so many. The novelty is going to wear off fast and soon artists are gonna pay to get their own episodes. To be honest, the only four acts who I feel have enough cultural impact and legacy to deserve an entire episode is Madonna (who's episode was brilliant), MJ, The Beatles, and Elvis Presley. They are the only 4 who could have an entire episode filled with references and iconic songs. To put it plainly, Britney simply isn't enough of an icon for that. Can you picture Sue and her Cheerio's playing a tribute to Britney, or Sue being able to force Principal Figgins to play COURTNEY LOVE in the hallways? Come on.

  3. It was interesting to see how the Madonna songs gave them a vocal workout. In fact, they seemed to struggle to sing some of the songs. Even Lea, who has a fantastic voice, seemed to not be able to do the songs justice vocally.

I disagree about Lea, I think vocally she's one of the best i've heard in a long time and she always puts passion/power into the songs. Cory, however, struggles with the songs. That's because his voice is heavily auto-tuned and he sounds awful live. When he was singing Borderline/Open Your Heart with Lea, he sounded very weak compared to her. He needs vocal lessons otherwise it'll get more difficult for him.

  5. The point is, GaGa might be huge for many decades and become very famous (which I do hope she does), but there will NEVER be another Madonna. To be honest, to even compare them is silly since GaGa is more Cyndi Lauper than Madonna. Like there will never be another MJ, there will be another M. There is one Madonna and that is it. Even if she stopped today and went into full-force retirement, she'd still be the Queen. Even 200 years from now, she will still be one of the most influential icons in music.

  6. Yes, really. And not just them, they were never a particular critical favourite that I'm aware of. But dear old ALISON (since she so HUMBLY named the band after herself) would LOVE to be liked by the Pitchfork and NME crowd.

But her band were never pioneers at ANYTHING - lmfao @ her daring to call Madonna out on following trends and being derivative when that's all she ever did. She just did them 10 or 30 years after they'd already BEEN DONE - first with trip hop when that sound had long died out and she saw a gap in the market, then reviving the BEYOND TIRED Glitter band glam beat and doing an "I Feel Love" clone with all the soul and energy surgically removed, then finally some FOLK MUSIC and back to the 80s.

She is a fraud and one big old recycle machine, never any better at it than Madonna was (the master) with AVERAGE anaemic music that is nothing to get worked up over whatsoever. In MY OPINION, of COURSE. :)

    You are a legend.

  7. Well growing up I had heard certain songs on the radio (Holiday, Borderline, Everybody, Like a Virgin, Papa Don't Preach) and I liked them but I never knew who sang them. Then as I got older I hated Madonna for some reason (popular opinion around me from friends and I had never really given her music a chance). But in like mid-2009 I listened to Hard Candy in full and really liked it, then went to Confessions, and basically went to listening all her stuff. I found that I actually loved her music, and the woman who sang those songs on the radio when I was younger was actually Madonna! So I guess I should've been a huge fan a while ago, but people got in the way.
