  1. It amazes me that people feel that they have the right to post on Martin Solveig's (and William Orbit's) Facebook page that they "hate" the demo and telling him to "fix" it, or "change" it etc. The internet makes people feel as though they can say whatever they like to whomever they please, without any consideration of the implications of their actions.

Wannabes, thinking they have power with a click of the mouse and press of a button. I dislike those type of internet trolls.

  2. The complainers have themselves to blame. Madonna aims for art and self-importance with messages from her faith--the complainers reject it. AL is a high point creatively. It still sounds ahead of the game for something produced in 2003! I wish she'd been able to move forward in the direction she was going in then but the complainers bitched. Reminds me of Beyonce dropping the most relevant album creatively of her solo career B'DAY and she catch shit for it. Never again. Joni Mitchell is right you don't know what you got till it's gone.

I support the "demo" version of this song. The two tracks from the GH and Hey You are horrible and worst things she's allowed to be released.

We share the same sentiments except that I liked Celebration a lot and Revolver is decently likable.

I'm not into panic mode right now as it's confirmed GMAYL is a demo. I'm pretty sure they leaked it intentionally to get feedback from people. I can accept M going for a safe first single then have braver follow-up songs to it.

  3. Sometimes i wonder when everything went wrong in music. Maybe it was the 70s, i don't know. But the development should be like this: you listen to a song that moves something in you (fun, dance, sadness, revolution...) and if you want it, you buy it.

But nowadays fans are more interested in future results than in enjoying a song. Reading many comments here i have the feeling that some people aren't enjoying a new release and a song full of joy simply because they are thinking about sales or main public. And that's not our job. Listening to GMAYL i just think of me and my little nephews dancing next Sunday to the song.

Good point! Some fans think that everything must be avant garde or trend-setting but it doesn't always have to be that way. I think the electronic-retro-dance thing is on its way out in the music industry and songs with similarities to retro and older music are getting their chance one again.

  4. Oh please, fans who critisize something doesn't want to change directions. They simply enjoy the glory of a forum, that's all. Why are some fans so picky whenever anybody says something bad?

About the song, i understand those who critisize it because it's VERY POOR for Madonna's standards even if the production is very different. I think it's a tongue in cheek release, meant to promote the Superbowl and that the first single will be afterwards. If I am wrong, at least i can enjoy a very funny and bright song. Really, what's the point of brainless pop music if not having fun? I had ZERO fun during the HC era. ZERO ZERO ZERO.

I never said criticism is bad. What I was saying was fans thinking they should dictate what an artist, show, or whatever should do. This applies not only to MadonnaNation but to a lot of other places on the internet. And I don't care whether fans hate GMAYL. I like it and can enjoy it for what it is.

  5. I think it's totally normal. Just because people tell you their thoughts and opinions, doesn't mean you have to take it on board and alter anything. He has a public facebook page and has been hyping for months what 'amazing' work they're doing together. Some fans disagree and are letting him know. Natural human behavior. End of.

Madonna will do whatever the hell she wants to do anyway, as always.

You have a point. But some has gone beyond ridiculous. It's not even funny. Anyway, I know Madonna will not listen to them.

  6. I've read about fans all over the world hearing GMAYL on the radio. Is that normal for a 'demo' to be aired or is it that people are so desperate to hear new Madonna stuff? My guess is that the song that was leaked is in fact the finished product and to save face Guy is acting like it's just a demo. I bet it will be on the CD, with very minor changes, if any.

I read William Orbit's facebook page today and more than half the people commenting are not pleased with the direction/lyrical content. I'm not sure how much sense it makes to send it to him because we aren't even sure who produced GMAYL at this point.

I'm annoyed with fans who act like that, thinking they should dictate what the artist wants.

  7. GMAYL is not at the same calibre as her other hits. It's a good thing and for a lead single some may be disappointed. I hope this alone does not reflect the entirety of her upcoming albums and there will be different sounds in it. I also think this is exactly the Madonna we love and know: not conforming to the "norms" of the general public and just doing what she wants her way.

I'm happy to have a new song and is still hopeful to what's coming next.

  8. I'm sure it was released on purpose.

It's not a grand Madonna track and it is just fun. I like it, not saying I love it. If it's gonna be the first single, I just hope it's just the demo.

A comment on Nicola Robert's Beat of My Drum on YouTube.

Sorry but Madonna's new song is better and I can't see any similarities apart from the "L-O-V-E" thing, don't you remember Ashlee Simpson's song, did she invent it? Don't think so.
