I go for Rain and You'll see; I grew up listening to them so...I kinda have an emotional connection with these two songs

When it's about a Madonna fan, you cannot ask him/her to choose just one song; that's just impossible!
Still, I think I would go with 'Vogue': it's iconic, memorable, danceable, pure pop. Crowds go crazy when this song begins, every Madonna fan knows it by heart, the choreography is spectacular, the video is amazing. When the word 'vogue' is mentioned, everybody automatically thinks at Madonna. You just can't separate them!
...so come on, vogue...

I've never understood the big deal about the ROL video. Much like the song itself I think it's highly overrated.

Although I don't think 'American Life' is one of her best, I still consider it a very good album that could have been better (just like 'Hard Candy'). My favourites are "Hollywood', 'I'm So Stupid', 'Nobody Knows Me', 'Die Another Day', 'Easy Ride'. To some extent I even like 'Love Profusion' but "I know I can feel bad/When I get in a bad mood"(aka one of the stupidest lines ever written for a song) kinda ruins it.

in my opinion this is one of Madonna's best albums; i like very much the sound of it and it's her most R&B album, very different from the others. what impressed me the most was her voice, so deep and calm and relaxed; just to see how strong her voice was back then, try to listen first to 'Like a Virgin' and then to 'Secret'. the improvement is like...wow!!!
