I love the foghorn synth on the AL Rauhofer mix. Great mix.
The problem really is future. I don't mind it on the album but it's really nothing better than an interlude. We've seen it live and it's just flat.
Oh well.
Can't wait to see what she does with Vogue!
Yes the better mix of the two for sure! I do like Future as a song, it just doesn’t make for the most exciting performance, especially in this particular setting. I could see it working mixed into a tour setlist but not one of these smaller performances

I have to admit that Rauhofer did some good remixes back in the day ... no comparison to Tracy Young and Offer Nissim..
K well you’re the one that brought them up and equated them with each other.

Sure. But not every gay is the same. For me, the original American Life would be special in every situation, be it tour or pride.
Never said every gay is the same. But if I had to place money on what the majority of gays attending a pride circuit party at world pride would prefer or expect, I would bet the fucking house on a remixed version of American life vs the original. It’s not my preference either, quite frankly. I adore the original and always have since the first time I heard it. But that’s completely beside the point.

Please please please let her stay away from ANY fucking generic remixes. Rauhofer, Tracy Young, Offer Nissim... the absolute worst.
Why alter any classic original mixes like American Life or Medellin?
I PRAY that she uses none of those on the tour.
To each their own
Relatively speaking, the rauhofer mixes of American life sound like fucking ART compared to the fifteen years of shit mixes that came after that era. And we’re not talking about versions to use on tour, we’re talking about versions to use at a pride circuit party...in which case, we go back to the original album version of American life going over with an absolute thud in that specific context.
-
One of the rauhofer mixes of American life performed live would actually be pretty epic. Vogue is obviously always great and I think I rise has an appropriate UPLIFTING message in either the original or remixed form. To me, Future is really the only dud in that list mainly because I just think it’s a bit blah of a song

I mean, at least if she threw in I don’t search I find with vogue.:.

Plus, while we are talking about American Life/God Control, subject matter wise they are very much related, it couldn't be a better match. Here we are, sixteen years later and the commentary on America's wars and the fickleness of American society as a whole has been followed by everything we've been watching unfold in the news since, violence, bigotry, racism, religious fundamentalism of all colours, baseless imperialistic wars sold as democracy exportation, reality TV, the dawn of social media etc etc
But I get it that not everyone sees it that way. They probably think Madonna should just stick to Vogue, Deeper & Deeper and Hung Up simply because "it's the gay pride".
Madonna has always a bigger narrative in mind which is what makes her Madonna in the first place
I think that’s a gross misrepresentation of what people are reacting to when it comes to performing at pride - more specifically at a pride CIRCUIT PARTY. Of course no one is objecting to Madonna being political or thought-provoking or having a bigger message, that is part of why we all love her. It’s about creating actual positive impact by having the right message for the right audience at the right time when they are open and ready for it. The only thing sweaty muscle mary’s rolling on molly at a pride circuit party are open and ready for is more drugs and possibly a bit of double penetration and, by god, just let them be!
-
-
Nope but then she also shouldn’t hold it against anyone if her message doesn’t go over with her audience the way she’d like it to
-
Let it will be!
-
If you want to have a deep, meaningful, political moment at pride that’s totally cool but then hold it an appropriately political event not at PRIDE ISLAND!? There’s just zero point in doing this when you know your audience is going to mostly be made up of people high off their face on molly looking to dance, hook up and have a wild time. No judgement with any of that but it’s just gonna go over like a lead balloon and all the talk of it is gonna be what a total fucking buzzkill Madonna was instead of how brilliant she is...
-
Omg the production on this song is epic
-
Definitely the unexpected gem of the album and a proper summer jam! I’m almost able to forget that Nittie’s ass cheeks looked like a fucking Jackson Pollock while she was warbling this out in the studio.

So yesterday was my first time hearing this song and I was very worried because I was so looking forward to it as another great album closer but reading the fan reviews when it was released got me really worried. However, when I heard it I was overjoyed and relieved - I absolutely love it and it's one of my favorites. Maybe it was because it was out of context that many didn't like it? There's really nothing I don't like about this song, great lyrics, great vocals and melody and a wonderful message. I think it speaks to M personally but is also universal to anyone who has felt attacked or marginalized or who just wants to give up. I think this song stands proudly against other great album closers like Easy Ride, Secret Garden, and Gone. It's inspirational.
Same, I can’t believe so many people were underwhelmed by this song. When I finally heard it I was blown away. Beautiful song and a beautiful close to the album.

Which is the beauty of all artists! Some are lauded, some are hated, some deemed talentless, some worshipped, some enjoy longevity, some fade into oblivion. But their expression lives on for their fans.
That’s certainly one interpretation...

Erk, namedropping people like Bowie and Prince in one breath and Avicii and Mac Miller in another sounds a bit cringe...I mean, god rest all their souls but some of these things are not like the others.

That’s Krug rosé, dahling. Not cool rosé...

I’ve decided to take Friday off from work to spend it with Madame
I was gonna do the same but then my god damn manager booked a half day meeting first. Now I’m going to have to make it all the way to Friday evening

At this stage, I’d welcome a remix from Tracy young over the mostly crap remixes we’ve been getting for the last several albums...

Think it’s better to listen on car speakers or with headphones?
Definitely good quality headphones. You shouldn’t be driving for over an hour while experiencing madame x for the first time. It’s not safe.

Guys, please be extra vigilante and safe over the next thirty-six hours. I’d hate to hear of any Mnationers being unexpectedly terminated before the release. You just know it would give some leak-listener that “told you so” moment they’ve been waiting for

All I’m going to say is do NOT feed Anitta coffee, especially if it’s in Madonna’s presence. It’s just asking for disaster to strike.
