So true! If she's making music for the masses and they're clearly not that interested (as indicated by the charts) then please stop and make some good music. I love her to bits and GGW is good enough disposable pop fluff, but it sounds like a b-side from JLo's last album. Tanqueray?? 808 drums?? She can do better than this. Frankly, Lady GaGa does a better job at copying Madonna than Madonna does copying herself and to call Born This Way reductive and then put out these two singles that are just ridiculously cheesy?? God bless, and I am NOT a monster....I just think Madonna can do better than this. She's perfectly capable of creating fun pop songs without sounding like the soundtrack for Jersey Shore.

I listened to it, too... If it's not fake, it's marvelous (well, whoever made it, it's a wonderful piece of music!)... Why hasn't she full-worked only with William "the Genius" Orbit???

I don't know why every album she puts out people try and suggest it will be the next LAP or ROL etc.
NONE of her albums sound the same at all.
This is true, this is true. Perhaps the hope is more that it will create the same mood as a prior album such as ROL rather than sounding exactly the same.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've always thought the HC cover was meant to be obnoxious and somewhat tacky. I mean she's sitting with a very self conscious "come hither" pose in front of a background of a giant peppermint....if this were Mariah I may think she's taking it seriously (see Rainbow cover) but Madonna is too smart for that. ......I'll just say in regard to the album cover, I feel like her fans took the cover far more seriously than she did. She was in on the joke, I don't think the fans got the joke at all. Fans seemed to think she was all like "LOOK AT ME. I'm 50 but I'm still young, hip and cool". I never took it that way at all.Completely agree with you and I feel the exact same way about the American life rap...people took that way too seriously and evaluated it like she was seriously trying to rap, rather than mocking it and being tongue-in-cheek. I actually think the HC cover is genius for all the reasons stated above

Are people really that stupid to think Madonna is going to name her album something so similar to a club drug and not realize it?

I would never dismiss her on titles alone. The "Music" title sounded like generic garbage before the song actually came out and it turned out to be awesome.
Totally disagree. The simplicity of titles like "Music" always held the potential to be something ultra cool. Shit like "Girls Gone Wild" will always conjure images of soft core porn no matter what the song sounds like. It's like a Katy Perry tracklist...
