I didn't think I would from hearing the 20sec snippet but i love this song. I was always afraid of her doing the Eurotrash sound but she makes this work for her.
-
I'm not holding my breath, but I hope so. It certainly sounds promising.
-
I actually like Madonna's version of American Pie, though i agree it shouldn't be on the compilation. There isn't enough room on 2 discs for the essential hits as is.
-
Didn;t Guy Ritchie say Live To Tell was his favorite M song??
I thought it was Lucky Star
-
Actually i don't mind this tracklisting (providing it's accurate). The absense of Borderline is the only real drawback for me.

because La Toya Jackson was such a huge music superstar in 1985
Well considering it was her brother's project she was obviously a shoe in.
-
I just don't think she was wanted there, at least going by what Dick Clark said about her appearing at Live Aid. Everyone thought she was a one trick pony/flash in the pan.
-
Just listening it to it today. I have the version without Did You Do It so i'm content. The album contains some of her best songwriting to date IMHO.
-
I actually found Hung Up to be quite enjoyable whereas it was a complete borefest when I seen it live back in October.

The link isn't working anymore. At least for me

Kay Burley on Sky News said that not even Madonna comes close to him in terms of sales.
Well even before he died his catalogue sales were always much higher than hers. But I think Madonna has at least been slightly more consistent with her sales.
-
I was thinking she could probably pull off Working Day and Night or Get on The Floor from the Off the Wall album.
-
but Madonna is supposed to be head and shoulders over the competition and she's always done her own thing with a "fuck the masses" thing,
She was capable of doing that a lot more pre-American Life. Afterwards she hasn't been able to re-capture the interest of radio to play her songs except in Europe and obviously she seems disatisfied with that, otherwise she may have not created Hard Candy.
Madonna is respected more for her relevance after nearly 3 decades in the music inducstry more than she is for her albums. She has the pressure to constantly remain relevant and it seems that's what's taken the front seat of her thoughts as opposed to creating an edgy album.

If he had said Pat Leonard i think i would have agreed with his statement as would most people here. But I honestly think Stuart was good for one album only. His techniques of going through old disco hits and making them Madonna songs makes him a bit of a one trick pony. Not that I think Pharrel or Timbaland is better, but whatever.
She needs a real musician/songwriter to work with.

Top 5
Give it 2 Me
She's Not Me
Devil Wouldn't Recognize You
Candy Shop
Beat Goes On
Music is still my favorite album of the decade.

Britney looks cute, i'm glad Madonna brought her on stage, even though she was only on for a minute.

The show was fantastic. The real highlight was the She's not Me performance. That one really tore it down. There's no denying she's a phenominal performer, to the extent that my aunt actually thought the performance of Candy Shop was great and she absolutely hates that song.
But i would say that the Toronto crowd was a little disappointing compared to the Re-invention tour, though i would not say it was dead. In fact I would say the audience was great considering most of the people were over 40.
And as unfortunate as it is, it appears that everyone would rather Madonna spoon feed her greatest hits to them as opposed to putting on a great elaborate stage show. She could make her job a lot easier for herself if she wanted, but she always challenges herself which is very impressive.
And p.s. Give it 2 Me is a great closer. It was hilarious at the end when they played Holiday and everyone thought she was going to come out for an encore; she's got to stop that!

Lucky you. I'm in Etobicoke. So i've got to subway it down. Which isn't too bad, i've been to many a show at the ACC, including RIT in 2004.
It's going to be a great show both nights, Toronto crowds are always great.
-
I'm seeing her tonight. I'm so pumped. My aunty is coming with me. She's the reason i'm a Madonna fan so it's appropriate.
-
be quiet...
whether I go or not is none of your business.
Then why are you here listing reasons for not going?
-
She sounds great on Borderline. Her voice is much better on this tour than Confessions. I'm so pumped to see her in October.
-
A second Toronto date has been added. I get ticket for the first show.
-
if WBR and MADONNA don't care... what do we do? suffer?
Who's suffering? You have the album don't you? I'm sure her fans want to see her do well but this should be bothering Madonna more than her fans.
