For me the whole HC album except for BGO and Candy Shop.

Talk about twisting her words. She has a love/hate relationship with music...just like anything else and everybody else. When's she's recharged and ready to focus on her music I'm sure she'll deliver more excellence. Heaven forbid she ever has to stoop to the level of wearing a telephone on her head for promotion or cigarettes for glasses passing it off as "art".
Hmmmmm! I wonder "who" or what you are referring too?
-
god those boots must be so smelly by now....she wore them the entire tour....and the tour was extended too! haha
The hair do is tired too. She looked like her old self at that Haiti telethon. Her face seemed fuller. Wonder how she would look with darker hair again.

Calling a tour a "Greatest Hits" tour would be enormously stupid. Every tour, in a way, is a Greatest Hits tour. Despite what I read on this site, MOST people go to see a performer to see the HITS. They aren't going to see obscure album tracks or a ton of new material or some crazy reworked version of the original. MOST people want to see the song in its original state, or close to it. Hardcore fans, of course, feel differently.
IF this is true, she should just call it the CELEBRATION tour. Period. Calling something the Greatest Hits tour seems like a farewell tour or something.
I totally agree. And all of the people denouncing a "hits" tour will be the first dashing for the golden circle at the stadium.

Sorry, but besides the die hard fans like us, Mainstream is not going to want to see a woman in her 60's or 70's jumping around on stage in lingerie. That's why this is appearing to be her final years of performing. Eventually M will know when it's time to throw in the towel and the idea she'll be able to attract the next wave of teeny boppers is a laugh. There is nothing wrong with revisiting the past.
-
This is a long shot but I would love to see a "Greatest Hits" Tour before she retires. Similar to Re-Invention where the songs were still recognizable. People may disagree, but she has such a great catalog of work that needs to be heard live again one more time. Even if she sang many of them in melody form I would be satisfied.

Well it is what it is and it will be forgotten in a few months.

Its catchy but crap. Damn not even Britney would record such a crap song? Smacks of desperation. Its funny most people thought 4 Mins was an urban wannabe song but I think 4 Mins and Revolver are more Britney wannabe.
I hope this song aint released. It will make her look like a joke.

Is it possible that Madonna told Warner to keep the vocals as is? I also read somewhere that Warner pushed Hard Candy to be a hip hop type album when Madonna really wanted something along the lines of Confessions. I think it was a Pet Shop Boys interview. She said she would like to do more electronic music in the future. I don't care for Revolver anyway. It sounds too Brittney IMO, and the Lil' Wayne part is god awful and pointless. What a way to ruin the "Celebration"
-
I'm sorry but 408 million dollars in one year alone doesn't translate into needing a new manager! But that's just my opinion. And that's coming after an effortless album called Hard Candy.
-
Who's to say Revolver will be such a great hit? If Lil' Wayne raps on it, then it will fall to the bottom of my list right there along with 4 Minutes. That train wreck of a song. She can flop every album and single from here on end and it wouldn't matter. Live Nation will recoup every single penny. Announce a tour and throw in some classics in the set list and we'll be looking at 500 million gross on her next tour. Do u think she really gives a shit?
-
She hit Top Ten on the overall worldwide chart, which was more than O ever did. Besides, the US isn't everything.
Right, I should have said it won't be a hit in the US. We're too busy over hear listening to some of the most untalented artists the world has ever heard. I'm still a fan and there are millions here in the US that are still fans but today's youth see Madonna as ancient.
-
I like the track listing also. Maybe for the next tour, she'll consider the fans when putting together a set list. If she has to do melodies to get her classics into the set then so be it. I'm worried about this hideous collaboration with Lil' Wayne. Really?

Madonna must be really sad
Sure, sad with 400 million in the bank And no, Celebration won't be a hit, good song but deep down inside she and Warner know it won't be a hit. If they were pushing for a hit they would have released Revolver which is another poor attempt at hip hop. If she wanted to do hip hop or what ever that kind of bubble gum music is called, she should have done it years ago instead of releasing that dark and dreary American Life. By the way, I actually like it better than Hard Candy. More dance Madonna. Dance, dance, dance, dance, and maybe a little guitar. Not rock though. Something tells me HC was the doing of Warner and not Madonna. The promotion and tour seemed very rushed.

I don't get the hate for mash ups. Sure, I'd like to see a little more variety than strictly mashups but I think she does them very well.
A "re invention" of her classics are okay, but I and probably others don't want to hear other people's songs thrown into her line up. Especially on songs we haven't heard in over 20 years. La isla hasn't been a mash up but clearly re invented way too many times. Holiday was a mash up of her own song and so was vogue, though Vogue was much more energetic than that watered down version of Holiday. Why bother. Hopefully this music director won't return or the useless DJ. Won't mind Stuart Price or someone unknown. Hey maybe we'll get Oakenfold next time. Madonna will keep posting these numbers for the next few years especially when we all know she'll be winding down to a final farewell

NOT A MOMENT TOO SOON. So long S&S and Hard Candy.
S&S had it's moments for me. BGO, Vogue, Spanish Lesson and even Frozen, but that's about it. This is the first time I can say I didn't like Holiday. Very lack luster. The MJ tribute was nice though. As for Hard Candy, good bye and good rid ens. I wish she was touring "Celebration". The line up for the double disc set is my ultimate set list for a Madonna tour. A nice selection from all of her works. This was fun.

Well, to be fair... the audio is pretty crappy in that YOUTUBE link, so it's hard to tell. But yeah, it doesn't seem to have the same "punch" as her previous concert versions had.
Now, I'd love to see and hear DRESS YOU UP as well.
I see what u mean about "punch". Maybe cause Holiday is in the middle of the show and traditionally Holiday has been the second to last show or an "encore" performance. This could have easily went into the rave section. I'm glad we got a holiday with the proper chorus and not a stardust kinda mix. At least we know she's still open to performing it.

Were the people in the arena having a good time. Judging from the clips it looks like everyone was just standing there. I really like her close ups this time around. Her face looks rounder and she doesn't look 50. You see, a little fat goes a long way. I wonder how she would have looked with a darker hair color?
-
She looks like she gained weight and she got rid of the black eye make up. She looks good again.

Keep Hung Up Keep ROL...
ditch some HC.
No more fucking mixes please...

as we can all see this tour is not only for the fans. so strong classics are in demand.
I'm not arguing with that. If u want to talk about "classics" lets pull out stuff from Like a Virgin and so on and so on. Almost every song she pumped out from '83 to 2000 is a classic. Too bad there will be some we will never hear again. Lets be happy that she is still open to Holiday. If only we could get Causin a Commotion one more time and Express Yourself before she calls it quits.
-
Frozen sounds good but as an old fan sounding like "the new breed" this would be the third time we hear this song on tour the past 8 years. She could've certainly remixed HU into an even more dancier track or sang it originally. I would've love to hear Get Together again or even the demo version of the song that floated on the net some time ago.

News from MadonnaTribe:
The Sticky and Sweet tour is less than two weeks away and we've learned that everyone is working hard on the rehearsals.
A few weeks ago, MadonnaTribe.com exclusively and for the first time reported that "Holiday" and "Dress You Up" are going to be two of the new songs in the 2009 setlist. Today we have heard more related news.
As previously reported a rock version of "Dress You Up" replaces "Borderline". The new arrangement keeps elements sampled from the original version but it's played on a rock track that recalls a lot The Knack's classic song "My Sharona".
On the other hand, "Holiday" that replaces "Heartbeat", contains sampled elements of "Everybody" and the new song "Celebrate". We've been told that the song is not such a spectacular reinvention and it's being rehearsed at the moment with a vocoder effect on Madonna's voice.
Not suprising that people are saying that it's not a spectacular reinvention. Maybe it's time to stop the reinvention bull and get back to singing songs in their original arrangement. It's getting tired already.

Amen to all the above comments. Visually speaking Madonna has never been so haggard-looking on stage than she does with this tour. The hair, the costumes, the make-up, they're all wrong. It's so beyond a hot mess.
I have to agree also. I hope she changes her hair do and that make up also. Such a pretty woman is starting to look sickly despite how fit she is. She has always been fit so I don't see the reason to lose more weight. And I hope we get more color this go around. For a tour based on the idea of Sticky and Sweet candy, we get mostly black with the same S&M themes.

I agree. Not the M we're used to seeing on album covers but it would be a drastic 180. I wouldn't mind seeing it though.
