Well, Janet fucked everything for a HBO broadcast. I will forever hold that against her.

Abel cut out a lot of her scenes. She was upset cause the script told a different story than the finished film. There's a sex scene between her and Russo that got cut that was pretty intense. Some photos of it leaked several years ago, wouldn't be surprise if it leaks this year.
And yes improv was used. Mostly during the scene where Russo calls Sarah a shit actress and a slut.

Oh it's a must! As soon as M's scenes are over, TURN IT OFF! There is no need to go into Harvey's storyline in the second half of the film.I ve never seen it. but I ll find it. curious!

I think M would have done Casino well. Breathless Mahoney was a good start for that.
I just don't think she ever expanded her horizons when it came to acting. I agree with what Siskel & Ebert said at the end of that interview, that a comedy where she's able to poke fun at her self would have done good. She tends to blame her failures on the directors fault, which I can agree to an extent. But her best performance, hands down, was Sarah Jennings in Dangerous Game. Abel really fucked that up. What a shitty film, but the acting for everyone is tremendous, and seeing M conquer her demons through that role is a feast for the eyes.

The audio I can get past. S&S sounded like a shitshow too.
It's just the goddamn editing. Plus the contrast between the sharp vivid good depth of the Paris footage verses the soft blurry and grainy Miami footage. The color grading were too much. I hate the chopped up speech that sounds like M is speaking a mile a minute.
They clearly did NOT have a set plan for these filmings.
Just bring back the gardener, I BEG YOU MADONNA!!!

Honestly one of my fav vids. I agree with you mattress, that ending is everything. So haunting and so strong. I'm so glad the beaten up footage was used for mer girl instead. What a section!!!
