  3. I think Evita was just a long music video and Madonna knows how to act in those

DSS was really good and she was very good in it

Who's that girl was a bad movie but she plays her cartoonish part like she's asked

Dangerous Game was a crappy movie in which she does pretty well

Shanghai Surprise, Swept Away and The Next Best Thing were pure crap IMO

I think that Madonna could have been a good actress but the press strongly pushed her insecurity button, blaming her for everything that was going wrong in every movie she ever did.

  4. Thierry Mugler: Beyoncé is a hundred times better than Madonna!

    by ZaCK, www.absolumentmadonna.fr

French designer Thierry Mugler, who designed all the dresses for Beyoncé’s last tour, gave an interview to Paris-Match.

Of course he gives her much praise and also bashes Madonna, whom he never worked with…

    “Beyoncé is THE showgirl!

    She works non-stop.

She’s a hundred times better than Madonna when it comes to dancing and singing.

Madonna is in her fifties trying to dye her hair blond to look younger.

That’s a mistake! People in their 50s needs to use what they’ve got: style, a good haircut and make-up. All those things are so much more important than three small wrinkles.”

  5. Last week, Absolument Madonna exclusively revealed the world premiere of the full Dolce & Gabbana AW10/11 campaign.

Today, Swide.com officially reveals the full Madonna coverage...

Steven Klein captured frames of life, entered the home of a proud family, and put Madonna at the heart of it, breathing dignity and poise.

Scenes that evoke tenderness, at times true happiness found in moments we capture in an impromptu, or a profound sense of pride and solidarity between family members.

Madonna is the light at the centre of the family axis, she is the story, the point of gravity to which all other members attract.

She is cajoled, protected, glorified, her sun-touched hair piercing through the black and white background.

An incredible way to swift through a tale and start thinking of winter with a sense of warmth.

  6. A Material Girl is interested in fashion, music and fun

    by ZaCK, www.absolumentmadonna.fr

WWD just released the first images of the Material Girl collection, which Lourdes Leon helped style and were photographed last month in a studio and on the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The centerpiece of the marketing campaign supporting the launch is not Madonna, but a young television actress and singer who’s identity has not yet been revealed. Her identity will be revealed in the coming weeks closer to the launch date.

    Madonna told WWD:

“It’s not complicated. It’s dressing in layers.

It’s not looking like you took too much time thinking about what you’re wearing.

She’s been coming to meetings pretty much from the very beginning.

My role was really to make sure we were all going in the right

direction and it was a line that I could stand behind and be proud of

and feel good about - and one that she could also feel represented

her. I really like the way Lola dresses, and I think this line is

absolutely an extension of her taste.”

Asked to sum up the Material Girl customer, Madonna described her in this way:

“A Material Girl is a girl that is interested in fashion and

interested in music and interested in fun.

[she has] a sense of humor [and] is an adventurous human being.”

  7. Lady Gaga: “It’s not my fault I look like Madonna”

    by ZaCK, www.absolumentmadonna.fr

Lady Gaga gave an interview to talk show host Larry King, on CNN.

She is now convinced she’s beginning to morph into Madonna - because her mother looks so much like the Queen of pop.

Larry King: Many articles about you refer to Madonna comparisons, parallels… What do you make of all that? What do you think of her?

Lady Gaga: I think Madonna’s great. She’s been a wonderful friend, and very kind and supportive… Amazing. She’s such an incredible woman. I get compared to so many people and we all get compared to each other. We’re blond, brunette, black, white, straight, gay… But on another level kinda funny, because my mother actually looks very much like Madonna and the older I’ve gotten I looked more and more like my mother, so… Sometimes I just want to say: “It’s not my fault I look like her” [laughs]

Larry King: Did you have fun doing that skit with her on Saturday Night Live?

Lady Gaga: I did, she’s great. We had a blast. We were laughing. We’re both quite militant about rehearsals, so we were driving everybody crazy rehearsing over and over again. SNL wanted us to go get ready for the show and we kept going. She’s so great… of course, no bad comparison to Madonna. She’s wonderful and there can never be another, so I’ll have to think of even more ways to annoy and shock everyone, because she has done everything.

Finally Gaga revealed she was asked to open for Michael Jackson on his tour.

But when asked “Who do you look up to?” Gaga mentioned her mother, grandmother, princess Diana, David Bowie… but not Madonna !

  8. Greyson Michael Chance doesnt know who Madonna is

    by ZaCK, www.absolumentmadonna.fr

Ellen DeGeneres starts her own record label signing YouTube sensation Greyson Michael Chance, in collaboration with Telepictures Productions.

Guy Oseary, Madonna’s manager, and Troy Carter, Lady Gaga’s manager, have signed on to co-manage Greyson.

Greyson Michael Chance, 12, admitted to HollywoodLife.com he doesn’t have any idea who Madonna is, even though they share the same manager!

“I love Lady Gaga, she’s my inspiration.

As for Madonna, I have no idea who that is.”

  9. Lady Gaga: “Nobody will ever be the new Madonna”

    by ZaCK, www.absolumentmadonna.fr

Lady Gaga gave an interview to french channel, TF1…

Again, she’s being described as “the new Madonna” and the one who’s “showing the world how old Madonna is”, but Gaga refuses any comparison…

Here’s what she had to say…

TF1: You are an Italian from New York, people always compare you to Madonna. Are you saying that you’re here to end Madonna’s reign, and that you are the post-Madonna of pop?

Lady Gaga: Nobody will ever be the new Madonna. Nobody will ever take her place. What Madonna did for feminism and for women all over the world, for the sexual revolution, can never be replicated because it has already been done.

  10. Lady Gaga: I don’t think of myself as the new Madonna!

    by ZaCK, www.absolumentmadonna.fr

Lady Gaga recently gave an interview to French Magazine Les inrocks. Of course and once again, the name Madonna is all over it…

Les inrocks - Why did you dedicate your album to Prince, Madonna, David Bowie and Andy Warhol ?

Lady Gaga - I’ve been listening to Prince and Madonna a lot. David Bowie and Andy Warhol are inspiring me. For me they are major artists because the visual aspect of their music is very strong. When I’m home listing to the radio and Prince, Bowie or Madonna’s music is being played, I see something, which isn’t the case with many other singers.

Les inrocks - Did you say that you were the new Madonna?

Lady Gaga - I never said that. I’m very angry when I read this so-called quote. From the beginning of my career people have been saying that I was the new Madonna. So take note of this: I DON’T THINK OF MYSELF AS THE NEW MADONNA!

Les inrocks - You’re blond and an Italian from New York... Don’t you think there’s room for comparison?

Lady Gaga - I do have the utmost respect for her. In some ways it’s indecent to ask a kid like me who’s been around for five minutes if I think I’m the next pop icon. It’s like ‘Who do you think you are?’ You have to let me accomplish more before you call me a pop icon.

Les inrocks - But do you want to be a pop icon?

Lady Gaga - If I wanna rule the world? The answer is yes. I think that secretly everyone wants to rule the world. But most people are afraid to say so.

    Translation by ZaCK.
