  1. I'm not sure about Europe...but in the US the arena is always pretty empty until minutes before. People are in the lobby. It's always shocking how the light go down with lots of empty seats and by the time the show lights are on you've got a full arena.

This is REALLY the case in Los Angeles.

That pic of the stadium looks pretty fucking full.

thats exactly right. here in DC is the same thing, moments before the lights go out, it looks like everyone is gonna miss the opening and then suddenly, everyone got to their seat and you dont know how it happened!

  2. I like that she's always a little late. It adds to the tremendous buildup.

Plus, she always seems to start around the same time. During the Re-invention shows, both of the DC shows started around 820

and all the madison square garden shows i went to for Confessions seemed to start between 830 and 840 so you kinda know its in that time frame. what time is it there? i think i'm confused now! LOL

  3. I dont understand the whole Borderline thing... for me personally its a really mediocre song. Its aged very badly in my ears and you could of course redo the beat and melody completely but then its not really Bordeline anymore is it...

    But thats just me...

no its not just you. I dont get the adoration for that tune either. Cant imagine what she'd even do with that song.

  4. I think PM Dawn opened some GS dates. They vanished halfway through and she hasn't had them since. I kinda like the shows w/o them and hope there's none for the states (unless by some miracle it's someone I happen to like).

I am with ya on that...NO OPENING ACT! Madonna is too much on an icon for that mess

  5. subhuman, glindathegood and boytoyville!

nice to see 3 positive posts in a row!

one last thing about vogue, i give anyone the right to their opinion, and if someone didnt like the performance, thats cool, but that one post a few pages back where someone said the re-recording was absoultely horrendous, made it sound like it was done over beyond all recoginition and that was a little extreme. she didnt do that bad a job with it. It would make sense that if she was gonna lip synch the tune anyway, why go over the top with the re-recording, i'm sure she made a version that was easy to lip.

I truly doubt too, that anyone left the concert extrememly disappointed with Vogue. i was beyond thrilled leaving that concert and i definately remember the buzz leaving the show and people were excited she did that song, no one said "wow, everything was great but that re-recorded version of vogue!"

most people just appreciate things for what they were. That was one hell of an opening performance.

  6. i thought it was fine. Loved it in fact. Vouge always seemed more like a presentation than a song to sing. she didnt exactly knock it out of the park in the Girlie SHow either and i think the RIT version was way more fun to watch than the GS one. but that one was ok too.

  7. ok, back to VOGUE (LOL)...to HolidayGuy...its ok if you want to call me "daft"...i think you;ve called me worse on here, but to be truthful, i didnt think Vogue sounded any different. I wonder what the point is in re-recording a tune, only to lip it instead? talk about a lot of work for no real reason? Apparently the only one fooled was me! I mean, i of course thought it was LIVE when i was there in person, and realized later it was probably not. I guess parts of it were different now that i think about it..i just didnt think it was an AWFUL version like some on here are quoting. it wasnt THAT different.

  8. but my question was, wasnt he the one praising how she dissed all her old stuff for DW and how when she said she wasnt doing that stuff anymore, he did some interview where he said he wouldnt be able to put that show together had she done all that trifling old stuff cause thats not who she was anymore, then turn around next tour and talk all this talk like she has to do the older tunes?

whatever it was...i give mad props to the VOGUE opening of RIT...one of the best ever. and to open with a Madonna CLASSIC isnt usually her style. so that was even more unexpected. I'll always love jamie for that one!

  9. i'm always shocked when i read these reports that Jamie is 'trying to get her to do the old tunes'

wasnt he the one who put together the Drowned World show and thought it was fab that she fucked over all the old stuff and Donna and Nikki had to talk her into doing SOMETHING older?

or am i thinking about soemone else? who put together DW?

I'm loving some of Jamie's ideas....it would be great to have open your heart or justify my love or any of those old tunes...even Erotica as the cd version, not you thrill me.

  10. I have had some high priced seats and low priced seats at various dates for Madonna's shows. Any experience is an amazing one. There is something about a live show and as you know, she can put on a SHOW! Enjoy!

So, what are the odds of a second show in Houston? She added a show in Vegas and Denver today. Denver is right before Houston. She doesn't play on Fridays so there are about three days she can play with to add another date. So far, I think the places she added an extra date were arenas. Not sure if she would do a two day stadium stop.

    Any thoughts?

why do you say she 'added' a show in Denver and Vegas? You mean a 2nd show for each?
