  1. Under 30? No. I'm 28, closely approaching 29. I grew up listening to Madonna and my fandom has only become stronger in the past four years. I'm what is now considered a "Cold Y", I don't belong to Gaga's gen.

Madge is still relevant and will always be relevant because she's ingrained in music culture. My hope is that everyone listens to her as they do Michael Jackson, Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and Pink Floyd.

  2. Q: Define hate. Is having a difference of opinion considered hate nowadays?

A: no having a different of opinion is right hate is intolerance hate is discrimination hate is when you think youre better than someone else

OH GOD SHE VALIDATED SOMETHING I ALWAYS KNEW WAS TRUE. :)

Now if stupid spineless people who feed trolls would let the word "haters"/"hate on" go extinct, I'd be happy.

  3. I barely remember anything about Gaga at the 2009 VMAs either. Just something about her hanging in front of some stain glass projection. It was all about Taylor Swift and Pink swinging from ribbons that year.

Why hasn't the internet finally destroyed the label industry yet? I thought we'd be past this mega stardom bull by now. Universal, WB and Sony still think they can dictate what we like and it's sickening to see some haven't figured out you can find your own taste in music not predetermined by marketers.

  4. The current biography books released are pretty same-y and not much new information. I ordered Like An Icon off of Abebooks for cheap and most of the info is Madonna 101 stuff up on Wikipedia and fansites. The others I've flipped through in stores are pretty much like this too.

  5. I didn't really think of it while listening to Hard Candy and MDNA because I didn't notice it that much because she and the engineers do such a good job of covering it up.

For example, It's not the case where pitch shifting is used to a noticeable degree like the on Mariah's E=MC2 and Memoirs albums where Mariah is deliberately pitch shifting a lower octave register to make us think she can still hit those notes and doubling or layering her vocals to make her thin voice sound richer.

  6. Good lord I wish there was an album coming out of the project because I miss the MDNA era terribly. 2012 was just a lovely year for pop music all around because there was contrast in sound. I find pop insufferable when the princesses release things because it's all about the chart race while the actual end product is always samey, mediocre and forgotten by the end of the album promo.
