Well we're not talking about who has better music - vocal talent CAN be measured. It's just like being a better athlete. Do they have a significant range? Can they control their pitch? How long can they hold a note? How long can they hold their highest note? Lowest note? How far can they project? All those thing measure vocal SKILL. Preference is something that is up to the listener. In this way, Adam Lambert may beat out a great like Frank Sinatra. But who has the voice people are going to most gravitate to? Frank. He may beat Trent Reznor. But I prefer Trent. Mariah Carey can beat out Fiona Apple. But who do I prefer? Fiona.
Same thing with Pink. She may beat out Madonna in a few (if not all areas). But whose voice do you prefer? That's up to you. AND THAT'S ALL ITS GON BE ABOUT.

But that's not what anyone is saying. They're just saying that Pink was born with bigger and more impressive pipes than Madonna. Now, Madonna may tickle our fancy more because we love the way she sounds when she sings, but there's an obvious difference in their voices. Pink has more ability to hers. Personally I prefer Pink's voice way more to Marrah's or Whitney's because Pink's voice suits so many different styles. All Marrah and Whitney ever attempted to sing were those awful ballads and R&B lite massacres.
And Pink may shit through her mouth sometimes but she's never been a twat about herself in the way that Christina Aguilera or Lily Allen are, for example. She's always been very humble and has ALWAYS cited Madonna as an influence so the dragging of her name through the mud is totally unecessary (in general, not just you Surannee)

Actually its EXACTLY what we are talking about here. Opinion is what matters and if you think Pink a more skilled vocalist than Madonna that's YOUR OPINION. Someone else isn't wrong for thinking differently. While a big fan of Pink don't think she's that skilled of a vocalist. She's a pop singer. I've seen her life six or seven times and yes she sounds great but I don't think she's any better than Madonna. That's my opinion. And perhaps you shouldn't throw around your opinion as fact. It doesn't make you looke any smarter or more sophisticated.
Actually that isn't opinion. Pink has far more range and control over her voice than Madonna does. That doesn't make her a better singer necessarily, because THAT is opinion, but it does make her a more skilled one. That can't be argued.

No, she was in the bahamas on vacation and couldn't make it in time. She was with her (then) boyfriend Carey Hart and was in another country when Madonna called asking her if she would do it. She couldn't make it. And Pink has always been very complimentary of Britney and Madonna and she really liked the whole kiss thing - I could even find video for you if you want. You're making shit up.

You remember wrong. Pink was asked to do the performance before Cunty and Britney, but could not because she couldn't make it to rehearsals in time (she was overseas). And she was very complimentary of the whole thing, she said (direct quote) "I'd kiss Madonna right here, right now."

I love the Candy Shop-Vogue costumes and hair. Its so severe but I like Madonna like that. I've never been a fan of "smooth and safe" Madonna. I like her to look a little intimidating and scary, it fits what she's all about. She had a good balance of scary/beautiful on the Confessions Tour.
The 4 Minutes costume is shittastic of course. But I love everything else.

Pink has a great voice, which is only underscored by the fact that she sounds 100% flawless live. As much as I like Madonna's voice, I have to say that it was nothign short of a mess on the last tour. It's not what it used to be. Who knows why; all I know is that on this last tour (and on the album), it was horrible.
The point is that Pink's got extreme vocal talent. Madonna's vocal talent is negligible, but it sounds good to the ear (most of the time) and it suits what she does. Madonna's real talent lies in her performing ability and her ideas. When I think of reasons why I admire Madonna, vocals don't even enter my brain.

I love the vocals on this album and it has 4 incredible videos. It's not my favorite but I can find great moments in every single Madonna album.

Gaga is talented but unfortunately she's an idiot of the higest order. I just saw her new video and some awful interview where she was talking about big dix and then later turning around and responding with "oh, that's a stupid question" as if she's some sort of intellectual tigress with something important to say. Worst. Does she not realize that she had been giving nothing but stupid answers that entire interview? Madonna may be more uptight than she used to be but at least early in her career she made it a point to balance her pretentiousness with a healthy dose of self deprecation. I don't buy this whole thing of Gaga playing a character to entertain the public, I think she's playing it because she actually thinks she looks cool. Does she not realize how fast her whole act is going to grow stale? She's one album into her career and these are the kind of interviews and videos shes giving us? Dumbass. I officially can't stand her.

For the most part the tour is garbage, but its few high points were great indeed. It really had no hope after the last two amazing tours though.It looks and sounds like poop in comparison.

its not had to figure that out. its the "angel" vs "devil" here; the angel being angelina. fuck, even her name says it. i wish she and brad would just go away for a few years. i cant stand all the positivity, gushing, cant do no wrong attitude towards them. its pure discrimination to madonna; heck, they even call their adopted kids by their last name and theyre not even married. they still call david "david banda" its all in the details.. and it seems that this is an image the press wants to create of her, the image we now see of people walking down the street, or queuing in a line to buy a magazine... they got exactly what they want, another american sweetheart and the american devil.
Why are you so fixated on this Angelina VS. Madonna thing? Madonna will never be america's sweetheart. She has no chance in hell given the way her career has panned out and the way she has manipulated the media for so long. I don't even want her to be america's sweetheart, fuck that. That's not who she is.
And the only people who gush about Angelina & Brad are entertainment reporters. B+A are in the tabloids on a weekly basis with negative stories continuously written in hopes that the two will split up. Not only that, their children are written about as well, always with a negative headline following them. Trust me, I have to look at these magazines DAILY. And most people I talk to hate Angelina. Granted, its never for valid reasons, but so many women hate her. Usually its because "OH SHES A HOMEWRECKER!" or "OMG SHE'S SKINNY" or "OMG I CANT STAND HER CHARITABLE FAKENESS" And guess what that sounds like? The same criticisms people have been saying about Madonna for years. Most gossip blogs are fully ready to give Angelina a reaming as well. So I think you're overexaggerating. Angelina is overexposed in the way that we're always seeing her on some red carpet at some event, but people do give her hell. There is no such thing as america's sweetheart these days in hollywood. If you want one, look to American Idol or Michelle Obama.
As for why Madonna was the lowest seller, I think its because of what Glinda said and because Guy Ritchie is way less famous than Midge. All the other rags having the same cover wouldn't affect it at all, if anything it would help it
People magazine tends to always share a similar cover with the trashier mags like Us and Star when a big story breaks. So that's a wimpy excuse. I think its primarily because of Guy's lack of established fame here in the USA. Was Madonna on the cover of People when the A-Rod scandal broke? If so, I bet that sold way more. No one cares about Madonna's english divorce. Madonna + a baseball player is way more juicy.
