  1. The show is actually interesting and they have great/lively discussions usually.

But they usually have negative things to say about Madonna. Barbara Walters, who wasn't on today, has defended the adoption but little else concerning Madonna.

It just struck me how they completely missed the point and were so negative about her today. Then, they didn't even rip Kanye a new one at all. Whoopie kind of even excused it a bit. I mean, if ANYONE deserved to be ripped it was Kanye. Yet Madonna was the one they really ripped on. LOL. She just can't do anything right I guess.

They seem to be really unfair to Madonna though and it boils down to that stupid cliche of bitter bitties. If there's something that really makes me shake my head it's jealous women. I know it sounds kind of loony of me to say that since one big reason The View annoys me is because they give it to Madonna, but let's not forget that Madonna showed up there in 2005 and those women practically pissed their pants talking to her. Forgive me for my GetUnconscious moment but it's so obvious that they're intimidated by her. There they sit on their wide butts discussing hot flashes, housewife cooking and celebrity gossip, and there's Madonna with her concerts, iron thighs, and 22 year old sex slave. They probably feel so horribly unsexy in comparison. Can't blame them really.

  2. Madonna's speech was terrific, the best public speech she's done as far as I can remember. Very heartfelt without being maudlin, funny without being winky, and it was so refreshing to see a celebrity who took some responsibility. She was able to relate as a person without making it entirely about her, and that was really classy.

And the eye-daggers J.Lo shot her when she saw that Madonna was rocking the very same hairstyle that she was pilloried for - hilarious. Of course, it works on Madonna because she's a 51-year-old woman, and the Catherine Deneuve hairstyle is totally appropriate for a woman of her age and experience.

As for the rest of it? Beyonce stole the show as far as the performances went, and Kanye's bringing the whole proceedings to a screeching halt was the moment of the night, obviously. Yes, he was a complete asshole for doing that to poor Taylor Swift. He was also 100% right. None of the other nominees were anywhere near the caliber of "Single ladies," but with MTV's new policy of making sure all their target audiences are pleased, we'll never have a sweep by a single video again, methinks. Their politics and rigging are simply too transparent. But still - Kanye's interruption was totally uncalled for, and completely hilarious. At least it made for good TV, something MTV has been incapable of for over a decade.

And for people who are suggesting that this somehow has a racial component? Please. Just...go away.

Well Beyonce won video of the year. The video got its due reward. I don't care for Taylor myself, but her win wasn't all that surprising - she's really big right now. Regardless of whether you think she deserved it or not, she's a KID. She was excited to recieve her award and her moment was ruined by an even BIGGER BABY. I'm glad he came out looking like the loser he is.

  3. I loved the tumbleweed.

I give Gaga a lot of hate, but the outfits tonight were fucking funny. They started out HORRIBLE then just became hilarious :lmao: My favorite was her walking up to accept her award with a sofa cushion on her face. Then the shots of her with a tumbleweed on her face while Taylor and Beyonce just stood onstage grinning through applause. Best VMA's this decade.

  4. And what does Beyonce bring to the table musically that's new? Hell, even Pink (who I LOVE) I could say the same thing about with this last album

(eagerly awaits Miguel's reaction to this next outfit :lmao: )

All I was saying is that people give her a lot of credit for being this new breath of fresh air. I beg to differ. That's all. I don't think any POP STAR is bringing anything new to the table. Especially her.

  5. we get it you don't like her...

funny how this is "tacky" and "bad", but some playback hillbilly chick who contributes almost zero to both music and performance is cool and amazing? :lmao:

anyways atleast we agree on that Madonna's speech was amazing? Or she did that bad aswell?

Yet again you bring up Britney (BRITNEY WHO? SHE WASN'T EVEN AT THE SHOW OR EVEN MENTIONED ONCE IN THE THREAD :rotfl: ) and show us your glaring insecurity/immaturity. Please stop the madness. I can't.

  6. well that's your opinion

i'm happy we finally have a singer of the new generation that brings something new to the game and tries new stuff and that is creative and actually someone that is creative in the music process aswell

she's young and she is more interesting and done more creatively than other young singers of the genre out there now...

Eh, I don't care. I was more entertained by all the other performances. I don't think Gaga adds anything new to the table musically. The only newness she brings is the old hat trick of making everyone buy into her hype - something Madonna pulled off well herself. Only she had a lot of ways to back it up. I think Gaga is too obsessed with her own bullshit to do anything with a cool factor. All I do is cringe.

  7. I still don't get the hate

the girl actually brings something new...

and she does something new with her songs aswell..

it wasn't tacky... she sings amazing live but she doesn't sing it "safe" though as most do..

GaGa was the performer of the evening..

Paula!??! Paula fucking wished she ever did a performance like that... a playback has been

Btw, I was referring to Paula Abdul's infamous Vibeology performance from 1991 or so... the one that ended her career practically. Or so it seemed. Cuz she flopped her ass outta oblivion after that.

    Let me get this straight.

Dressing up like Phantom Of the Opera meets Bette Midler, turning Paparazzi into a fucking OPERA piece, and hanging yourself bloody from the fucking cieling? I'm a Madonna fan, I should know tacky. She crossed the line from tacky to plain fucking stupid. The rest of the webspace is WTF-ing with me. She's pathetic. I don't care how talented she is. She's a joke.

  9. GaGa was the performer of the night no doubt about it

Beyoncé was good but I can swear it was pretty much the same as she did for another show... same routine but with more dancers this time around

I thought Gaga's performance was a tacky pointless mess. It was Paula Abdul bad. Sry.

Anyway, people will be talking about two things tomorrow - Kanye/Taylor, and Gaga getting hung from the ceiling like a used tampon. The girl knows how to get her press, too bad there's no rhyme or reason for it.
