  1. Not getting this hate for Martin Solveig. MDNA was not "great" because it doesn't have a musical identity. Had Solveig produced the whole album the product would've been so much better. She should've gone all the way with that retro bubblegum pop sound with the album. Yes, 12 tracks of GMAYL, Superstar, B'Day Song, Turn Up The Radio etc.

  2. I'm sorry to come in here and complain or come off as a whiny bitch, but I haven't heard any of the unreleased songs yet and I'm just not excited, even though I absolutely adore what I've heard so far and the Living for Love video and performance are beyond amazing. This entire era has been a huge uneventful mess. It all just kind of came and went and I'm sure once the album comes out IN A MONTH I'll enjoy the tracks, but seriously, I'm so disappointed.

    End of rant.

This is one of her most promoted eras in years! You like what you've heard and she's looking GREAT! Whataya want from her? Are you kidding me?

  3. I decided to stick with a real version of the album and train my ears to get used to the order Madonna intended the songs to be. It makes no sense to replace songs with demos. This is the finished version! It won't ever change! It is what it is forever! As for demos, I can always make a playlist for those, but separately from the album.

Oh the other hand, all you guys making your own versions of Rebel Heart make me smile. :inlove: I think it's really cute how excited so many of us are. There are so many songs!!!

Replacing final songs with demos is crazy to me. Why would any fan do that? Where's the respect for the artist?

  4. i don't think this guy realizes he's on MadonnaNation...

not everyone has to be on our level but a lot of the people on this forum are ON OUR LEVEL of FANDOM!

we love the demos...always have. all of a sudden she's on instagram crying, and all these righteous fans are like, "you're not a fan!!!!!"

Seriously, I don't think they've been around for any discussions of the demos over the last 10+ years...the leaked outtakes for photoshoots and Blond Ambition...like are you fucking kidding me! we live for all that and now we have to explain why we are not going to listen to Madonna's declaration of her artistry. It's wrong that it happened and we all feel terrible that she's upset about it but it happens to most artist. let's get over it.

Well that was exactly my question. I was simply asking if you guys have the habit of collecting all of her demos? If yes then of course you would want to hear all of 'em because the level of fandom is probably way up higher.

I have been busy playing the final album on repeat so I really have no time for these demos anymore.

  5. Does it even matter if we are

I mean it makes sense to collect all the RH demos if you have a record of keeping all demos of her discography. If not, then I really don't understand why so many people here are so eager to look for each demo, even versions that are rough and unfinished. I'm not judging anyone of you since I own a bunch of these demos too, but I just don't see why you would still want to get more of them even after the final album has leaked. It's a bizarre situation.

  6. It's like we got to see the artist's preliminary sketches before the final painting(s) and we preferred the draft (before it was over-rendered). I guess with the fact that they were stolen demos there was no other obvious choice but to retweek them, save releasing an album of mastered duplicates.

But Rebel Heart was already tweaked before anything was stolen though.

  7. In a perfect world, she would've performed Rebel Heart at the Grammys and released an edgier mix of the demo version this week. What even was the point of releasing a first single 2 months before it was pushed? I really thought LFL would not be a 'real' single since they released it so early, and that they were saving Rebel Heart for a big promotional push since it really was one of her all time best songs. But then the album version leaked and....

    Team Ghosttown.

  8. Ever since 2007 the Queen of Re-invention has stopped drastically changing her style and image, even her songs have mostly remained on the same lane of dance-pop music. This is also the third era in the row that she's simply being herself rather than playing a certain character that visually connects with the music.

Do you think she is over this idea of reinvention?

Do you prefer Madonna playing a character for each era or are you fine with her simply being a badass bitch?

    Let's discuss, Rebel Hearts :popcorn2:

  9. She SHOULD NOT release the album now. PLEASE DON'T MADONNA. At least not until her Brits performance. That would totally destroy her chance of getting a Top 5 UK hit. And I'd rather her score big with first week sales instead of debuting less than 150K just because it's only available on iTunes. People who are going to buy the album are gonna buy it anyways.

  10. The only time she mentioned the number of tracks was saying "13 more to go" because they released the deluxe first. Don't put words in her mouth because she never said the standard version was half assed. Oh well the official standard version is THE standard of the album and this fact won't change. I don't know why I care so much lol

  11. Deluxe is the album as Madonna wants. Standard is just an edition pushed by the label for marketing reasons and was cut at track 14 from the Deluxe edition.

    She never said that.

The deluxe version actually seems more like a marketing trick. They already have most fans purchased the deluxe which costs extra $$$ and they did the same with MDNA, marketing the deluxe version as the "standard" (in Guy's words) ,when in fact you know Falling Free is THE album closer, just like how Wash All Over Me feels like a grand finale. IMO the last 5 tracks seem randomly thrown together and the 14-track version feels more "complete". Of course we can treat whatever version we want as our own perception of the album, but I just don't like it when people keep saying that the standard version is reductive.

  12. I'm loving the positive reactions from y'all rebel heart virgins! Very different from those who downloaded the leak immediately and whined about how they've replaced some final versions with demos literally 5 minutes after they got the album. Each track is carefully crafted by Madonna and there's a REASON why she chose the final versions. This is why we're seeing a more positive feedback here, because your presumptions affect your listening experience.
