  1. I'm probably gonna get shit for this but those posts rub me the wrong way. And I love EVERYTHING about the woman, which makes it twice as hard.

I'm 100% against leaking material that can still be used (nevermind selling it) but those outtakes are so beautiful... Would it really be better if they were gathering dust some where?

  2. She should really take Mariah's latest tour as a pattern and run with it. All hits performed at least 5 times already with a couple of half-arsed performances of her current album tracks. All album versions too, we don't want her precious casual fans to get confused, right? I mean, nothing makes me happier than seeing random people that bought her tickets just cause they used to slut it up to Like A Virgin back in the day get their lives to, well, Like A Virgin, not until unnecessary artsy fartsy crap like Paradise (Not For The Casual Fans) lets them have some bathroom break time, Janet Jackson stylee. I hope she wears a wedding dress too.

But yeah, she's totally not a legacy artist.

  3. Oh dear, I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this thread... Holly Johnson is like God to me. His voice is in my top3 along with Neil Tennant and John Legend. He's a great songwriter, so charismatic and his battle against AIDS is so inspiring. And yes, FGTH were the kings of controversy. Who else has the balls to print the instruction on how to fist someone properly on the sleeve of their first single? I mean, really? ICONIC.

It upsets me to see so many people here use the 'Oh I don't know him' card, it's what GaGa fans do. What's so good about being ignorant? They've sold millions of their records in the UK, they're hardly t.A.T.u or whatever.

With that being said, I don't really see his influence on Madonna at all but he's entitled to his opinion.

  4. It's a rather fascinating topic IMO. I guess right until MDNA Madonna was all about what's next, but that album kind of ushered in a whole new era where M wasn't as dismissive of her past as before. Obviously she's always been proud of her work but seeing how she posts outtakes from the Rio session on Instagram and recreates the iconic Coke bottle moment for her new calendar, I can't help feeling that something's changed. I remember one of her friends saying that she cannot look back and enjoy her success sometimes, and I think that's what she's doing now (and I cannot be happier for her). So what happened? Why do you think M is more willing to look back nowadays?

  5. Like A Flower, at least for me. Losing someone you loved so dearly, and trying to save what's left of them inside of you by holding on to that pain...

Also Gone Gone Gone. Absolutely gut wrenching vocals. ROL is not my favourite album at all, but it's hard to deny the way it affects your emotional state, even the unreleased tracks.

  6. after knowing all i know about madonna musical history/legacy, i just think its comical that madonna hired her kids birthday party entertainer for her new album...

You know what's also comical? The fact that you're making assumptions based on what someone said on a messageboard, and they weren't even serious. But yeah, 'how the mighty have fallen' and all that. I like how 'fans' are eager to take the most random piexe of info (and that person was just throwing ideas out there, not stating it as a fact) in order to discredit Madonna.

  7. I was actually listening to The Confessions Tour album today and I think I fell in love with its parent album all over again. The way how spirituality goes hand in hand with hedonism without ever being too obvious or try hard is a true test to the artistry of M. You don't have to hit people over the head with your concept, make them THINK.

It's also kind of peculiar how the album's sound is both rooted in the 70s AND the 80s. I mean, sure there's ABBA, Jackson 5 and Moroder, but it's all wrapped up in the cold, minimalistic, razor sharp electro gloss - think early Human League.

  8. Um, actually Daft Punk kind of gave Kylie a chance back in 2007, when she was recording X. There was a big feature on her unreleased tracks in some magazine and yeah, she did work with them... Who knows why they'd choose Kylie over M - same with Goldfrapp, I guess, who rejected M but were more than happy to send their demos to Kylie and Xtina, only to have them rejected.
