  1. Finally, someone I can agree with. The way she ditched Pat Leonard's original production of FROZEN/POWER OF GOODBYE/To Have.. and redid them with Orbit--the lady knows exactly what she doesn't want in her music. Even if she doesn't know which buttons to push, she knows how her songs should sound like, and is a true producer of her music.

On an off note, did anyone catch the Verizon pre-R&R Hall Of Fame interviews from last year? In one of them, Madonna suggests to Timbaland that they could autotune something (or something rather). Tim rolled his eyes, and in that moment, revealed what he thought of Madonna as a music producer. Loved it!

I love Timbo, but it's not like he's above using autotune... :manson:

  2. Aaliyah in interviews about recording her 3rd and final album doesn’t come across as a cookie cutter R&B chick. She wanted to be different – to grow. Her final album wasn’t all Missy and Timbaland tracks – she worked with people with no name that went left with everything they gave her.

Well, yeah, I know that, I'm a fan but I REALLY doubt she'd make Timbaland step up his game. If Madonna couldn't make him do something edgy or original, nobody will (well, not until he finds another Danja).

  3. I nearly cry tears of sorrow when i think of what they could have done in the future together. Mmm hmm!

I doubt they'd do anything that wouldn't sound like Maneater/The Way I Are/4 Minutes... It's not like Aaliyah was that amazing songwriter with her own ideas, is it? I'm sure she'd get Brandy's Afrodisiac tracks tho, together with Nelly Furtado's Loose stuff.

  4. You guys are totally wrong... UK radio LOVES Madonna! They even played Miles Away; it got to no.8 on the airplay chart there even though no-one really wanted to buy it. That's why I was surprised when I heard that they still haven't playlisted Celebration. But then again, UK is gonna get it a lot later than everybody else; you can't even buy it there at the moment! So it's a bit too soon to say that they 'hate' her!

  5. Fuck, I was there and let me say that it really was the best show ever! Britney, Beyonce, Rihanna... Those bitches do not come close! :dramatic: She was absolutely amazing and simply oozed charisma! I thought that she wasn't going to outdo herself this time, but she proved me wrong. She really is The Queen. When the show began, I was wet as fuck but it was totally worth it. Also managed to hook up with some cute Russian guys there, so... :inlove:

  6. Personally, I'm glad M didn't do it. Yes, I guess it's something nice to say you were a part of, but when you look at it without nostaglia (which is what most of us look at it with, we were kids when it was out), it's truly the worst in 80's excess and ego. With Michael, Stevie, Springsteen, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Lindsey Buckingham, Dylan, Billy Joel, Tina Turner, Cyndi and a handful of other, the project was loaded with a lot of unparalleled talent and should've been one of the best songs ever recorded just from all the names involved, but yet the final song couldn't have been more bland. I blame a lot of this on Lionel Richie being the co-songwriter. He had a few catchy songs in the day, but when you consider USA For Africa consisted of a few of America's all-time greatest living songwriters (Dylan!!! Simon!!! Springsteen!!! Stevie Wonder!!! Billy Joel!!!!), you wonder why MJ chose him to be the main collaborator instead. I know Lionel was red-hot in 84-85, but damn, he probably played a big part in making the song shit. Also, with all the talent involved, only Cyndi and Springsteen really got a chance to show off why audiences loved them, everyone else seemed to be so tiresome with the recording and it's probably because it was recorded so late at night.

It's good M and Prince (who did add "4 The Tears In Your Eyes" to the album) steered clear of the sessions because they sadly too wouldn't probably gotten lost in the blandness of it all.

As far as I know, MJ was the one who wrote the song and Lionel just changed a few bits here and there. It really sounds like something he'd do, no? Heal The World springs to mind...

  7. This from the man who gave us "I want you" and "To the moon and back." That's rich. :lmao:

Have you actually heard his solo stuff? The Tension And The Spark? This Delicate Thing We've Made? Deep, intelligent and very good music. Up there with LAP and ROL. He doesn't like her urban records. So what? If a fan says that he hates Hard Candy, it's OK, but if somebody famous says something, he obviously does it for attention. You don't like Oakenfold and said that 100 times; should we all laugh at you and call you a 'never was' because of that?

Anyway, I don't agree with him at all. IMO, Hard Candy was all kinds of brilliant and it'd be a shame if Madonna decided to stick to this 'futuredisco' sound (or any sound in particular). There's so much more to her than this.

  8. Giving this some further thought they need to reduce to a one disc release with no new songs and maybe 10 or 11 in total. Tracklisting:

    1. Miles Away (her most recent and therefore best known hit)

    2. Love Profusion (because most people have never heard of it so they should buy the album)

    3. Nothing Fails (as above)

    4. Gambler (forgotten early gem)

    5. Look of Love (as above)

    6. One More Chance (....to be heard)

    7. Oh Father (so they can re-release AGAIN)

    8. Keep It Together (major US hit)

    9. Love Don't Live Here Anymore (another popular re-release option)

    10. Another Suitcase in Another Hall (her most successful film role so bung this one in)

    11. 4 Minutes - radio remix instrumental (one for the fans)

I am certain Warners will take this on board.

LOVE IT :dramatic: Still, I wish they could add some album gems like Love Song (it has Prince on it!) and Did You Do It (fits her new hip-hop image).

  9. I don't care about Obama, I don't care about McCain... But it seems that with McCain as the president, there are some bad things supposed to happen (like that war with Russia). I do believe that the US people and Russian people do not want it, it's their goverments that do... Well, I'm not talking about Russian goverment here 'cause it'd stupid if Russia wanted to start a war against the US...
