  1. As far as Im concerned that guitar saved her live act... even though some wont admit it, she is getting too old to pull off nonstop dance routines show after show so why not brach out a little.

I agree.Think of how ridiculous Janet is gonna look in the coming years when she too will get too old to dance non-stop.Madonna was wise to add some guitar-playing to her live act.

  2. There's another article in the NY Daily News that says Janet Jackson's concert tickets are selling well, while Madonna is off to a slow start. That's so stupid, when Madonna has sold 5 times more tickets!! She's gonna break the record she set with the Confessions Tour, yet Janet Jackson is doing better!

Yeah I saw that article and it is ridiculous! In fact,Janet's tour hasn't soldout anywhere so far.In all the major markets, she hasn't even bothered to schedule additional shows, because none of the first shows have sold out! It's very likely that she will be playing alot of one-nighters,due to lack of interest.

  3. Well a big mistake was doing a stadium in Los Angeles! Big Mistake. Its very hard to sell out Doger sadium!!! She was setting herself up and didt even know it by doing this venue.

Yeah,I agree. She should have just scheduled a few nights at Staple Center, where she would have soldout with no problems.Very few pop artists can sell out stadiums in the US.

  4. Her tour will be a huge success but I'm not sure if it's a good idea for her to do stadiums in the US.That's a risky move.Maybe she should have just played it safe and stuck to arenas,at least in the States.

I also think it's a mistake to skip Detroit again. She could have easily soldout two nights there.

  5. I think this article is a little selective in its choice of data. I notice they are only mentioning the stadium dates in the U.S. which we all expected to sell slower than the in-door arenas. And what about Houston? That one must be doing fine.

Yeah, this article is very misleading. There are still several months before the US tour begins.Any shows that aren't completely soldout right now will surely sell many more tickets before now and then.

  7. found this posted on M Tribe.

    some more news from "insiders".....

***Jamie King is currently trying to convince Madonna to perform the following songs:

    "Open Your Heart"

    "Borderline"

    "Physical Attraction"

    "Express Yourself"

    "Vogue"

    "Justify My Love"

    "Rescue Me"

    "Erotica"

    "Bedtime Story"

    "Take A Bow"

    "Human Nature"

and a few others. He's come up with some exciting new choreography/themes/ideas for these songs and plans to show Madonna when she returns to the rehearsals in New York.

***Madonna will definitely perform something from the Dick Track 'I'm Breathless' album. That's one of her favorite albums.

sounds exciting! If she performs many of those songs,I'll be satisfied :)

  8. I could do without "Music".I can't see why she keeps performing it on every tour.Yes it's a great song, but I'm tired of hearing it.

How about performing some songs that she hasn't done in awhile??

    "Causing A Commotion"...."Justify My Love"....."Angel"......"Physical Attraction"...."Secret"....."Keep It Together"?

  9. oh that's really a mess...

I doubt Janet will ever have a success album again... I think 3 flops in a row is just too much

strange how she still can keep a record deal

I predict that Janet will get dropped by her current label if her next CD isn't a hit. They're not gonna keep taking a chance on her, spending lots of money to promote her if she doesn't sell CDs.Thank God that Madonna isn't in this situation.

I also doubt that Janet's upcoming tour will be a massive success. She'll have trouble selling out in some places. Some dates will be cancelled,or moved to smaller venues.Of course, she will try to say it was cancelled for "other reasons" but we all know the truth, lol.

  10. Janet is doing great

No,she isn't :) 'Discipline' is officially her *THIRD* flop album in a row.Her biggest problem is that she keeps repeating the same mistake over and over.....releasing similiar-sounding albums, even though the previous one(s) failed.By now,she should realize that the public just isn't interested in what she's offering. At least with Madonna,we get a different-sounding album each time.

If Janet does this same routine again (releasing a run-of-the-mill R&B album),she will see the same results.

  11. WB and Madonna probably already recouped their costs with their H.C./4M tie-in deals with Vodafone, Verizon, Unilever, MSN and Japan's FujiTV. They were paid $10 million for that Sunsilk shampoo campaign.

Exactly.Madonna already made her millions from this album, even before it was released.Warners also got their share from all those promotional tie-ins and lucrative deals.
