  1. 'Hung Up' was bigger than '4 Minutes' worldwide

still '4 Minutes' was huge but not for any Madonna related reason..As Live It Up just said, Nelly Furtado could have sung it (or only Justin) and it would have been as big as well..

and that is easily proved by the fact that it didnt sell at all the album ('Give It 2 Me' came after the release of the album)

"Hung Up" was successful but "4 Minutes" was Madonna's biggest U.S. hit single in years, and let's face it,that was the aim of Hard Candy: to have a huge hit in America."Beat Goes On" would have repeated that success in America.Anyway,I'm not sure why we're even discussing the previous album (lol).

  2. I think 4M although it was a very big hit destroyed the fate of the album, as it wasnt a Madonna song..it was a proper Justin & Timbaland Feat Madonna song

All the negative reviews and the criticism she got for jumping too late on the tiresome Timbaland bandwagon damaged the whole Hard Candy era

I disagree."4 Minutes" became her most successful single since "Vogue".The problem was....she picked a questionable second single, made a cheap video for it,and then abandoned the promotion altogether to start tour rehearsals. If she had taken her time, picked the right singles and made some amazing videos, the HC project would have been massively successful.

After "4 Minutes",the follow-up singles should have been "Beat Goes On","She's Not Me" and "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You".

  3. "Give It To Me" destroyed that album's hit potential. The HC project died an early death. She should've released "The Beat Goes On" as single # 2

I pray she releases the right singles for this new album.

Exactly! "Give It 2 Me" is a great tune, but it didn't stand a chance in America."Beat Goes On" was the logical choice for the second single. If she had filmed an excellent video with Kanye and Pharrell, there is no way that this song would have been ignored. It would have easily found an audience. She could have had two Top 10 hits in America.

  4. I adore Give It 2 Me. It's one of my most favourite M tracks of all time. I think it's so original and love the video. It's simple but she just looks beautiful. Makes up for the hot mess of 4M. However, I still think She's Not Me was a huge missed opportunity.

I love "Give It 2 Me" but I don't think it should have been the second single.A much better choice would have been "Beat Goes On" featuring Kanye West. That song would have followed "4 Minutes" into the Top 10.

  5. I love the Sticky and Sweet tour.I saw it twice when she came to my city. The DVD is incredible....so much fun and energy! Madonna seemed as if she was finally "set free"....this show represented her freedom from Guy Ritchie and from Warners. She looks like she's really having a ball!!

Best moments: "Vogue","Miles Away","Into The Groove" and "LAP".

  6. I seriously hope we won't get a title consisting of the word "dance" again.

It's time for our girl to put the dancing shoes on hold after a decade of full on dancing almost.

I'm open for dance influenced songs though, but not a dance album again.

I can see your point.I don't want another pure "dance album".I want her to mix it up this time, with several ballads.

  7. 'Female Intuition'

'New' (short and simple, this title indicates that she is back and in charge again....ready to do some damage! The past is the past, she's onto something "new")

    'Stimulating Conversation'

    'Sincerely Yours'

'Shiny And New' (this title makes a reference to her early hit "Like A Virgin",which is cool)

    'Secrets Revealed'

    'For All Intents and Purposes'

  8. I have a feeling that this thread is gonna last for a very long time :) We are starving for new Madonna music! lol

I wish Madonna would give us a little something to tide us over until the new album is released. How about a summer single? Or a 2-CD deluxe edition of 'Like A Prayer' with bonus tracks and remixes??

  9. Madonna has very evocative album titles. Really potent and massive wider implications. Now compare M to the rest of her album names and it sounds so week and a bit obvious really. I don't get why people think it would be a good idea. I'm sure that as always the title of the album will reference the thing that she is singing about...So unless she is singing about the letter M... :lmao:

I think,as an album title,'M' would imply that this is a *definitive* Madonna album. No games,no gimmicks,no reinventions....just straightforward Madonna.Since this will be her first album on a new label, she may wanna re-introduce herself to the public.'M' is a step in that direction. It's short and simple.

  10. I think M is also really good, but I don't think she would do something like that...She always has a specific concept for an album and M would be pretty uncreative

MPowered would be also really good I think

I like those two titles.'M' is short and to the point.

I also like 'Mpowered'.It implies that she is now in total control after all the chaos at Warners.I could see her doing a tour with that title too....the 'MPowered' World Tour 2012.
