  1. So,it looks like all of the setlist rumors are incorrect.I'm gonna make a few predictions on what the real setlist will look like.I think some surprises are in store....

*"4 Minutes" will be performed, but not as a duet

*Madonna will do a cover of someone else's song

*"La Isla Bonita" is one of the songs on the setlist and the performance will be very similiar to the Confessions Tour version.

*"GMAYL" will be performed as part of a medley with an old Madonna classic

  2. I don't know why every album she puts out people try and suggest it will be the next LAP or ROL etc.

NONE of her albums sound the same at all.

Exactly.Unlike Mariah and Janet, who just re-make the same album over and over,Madonna always moves ahead and evolves with each album.

  3. I'm a bit nervous about this for old Marge. It sounds exciting but I hope this doesn't blow up in her face. I don't know if exposing booing homophobes during a major NFL game is necessarily a good idea, but I'll reserve judgement until the performance.

I feel the same way.I think she should steer clear of any potential controversy and just play it safe.I love "Vogue" but I'm not sure if she should perform it for this audience. It's one of her "gayest" songs and I'd hate for her to get booed by a bunch of football-loving homophobes.

  4. Madonna has alot of reasons to be happy these days. When Hard Candy was released, she had alot of drama going on in her personal life. Her marriage was over, her relationship with Warner Bros. had come to an end,and she probably felt very insecure during that era.

But now, this new era begins without all that baggage. She's making a fresh start on a new label. She's got a new love in her life. She's beginning the year with a Golden Globe award,a SuperBowl performance,a new movie that she directed and a new album to be followed soon by a world tour. She's gonna dominate this year! Why wouldn't she be happy?

  5. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've always thought the HC cover was meant to be obnoxious and somewhat tacky. I mean she's sitting with a very self conscious "come hither" pose in front of a background of a giant peppermint....if this were Mariah I may think she's taking it seriously (see Rainbow cover) but Madonna is too smart for that. Without pissing people off with another HC essay....HAHA....or maybe I should ;) ......I'll just say in regard to the album cover, I feel like her fans took the cover far more seriously than she did. She was in on the joke, I don't think the fans got the joke at all. Fans seemed to think she was all like "LOOK AT ME. I'm 50 but I'm still young, hip and cool". I never took it that way at all.

EXACTLY! Alot of times, many people don't always "get" what Madonna is trying to do.They don't get the sarcasm, the irony, the *joke*.

  6. I liked Hard Candy as an album title. I just had no idea she would allow such revolting album artwork to be a literal interpretation of the title. She clearly clocked out during that era. :zombie:

I had no problem with 'Hard Candy' as an album title, but I think she should have titled it 'Beat Goes On'.

  7. So basically she's pandering to the circuit fags. Good lord, and people bash Kylie relentlessly for it but somehow when Queen Madonna does it, it's brilliant ...

Let's wait until Madonna *explains* the title before we jump to conclusions! It's normal for the media to assume things that aren't true. It's a shame that some of her "fans" behave the same way :eyeroll:

  8. They are clueless all round. They seem to have forgotten that both Music and Confessions did well critically and commercially. So I would hardly say the 00's weren't great. Even Hard Candy did well commercially technically speaking.

Exactly.Critics can be so clueless at times.

  9. I don't blame her for having guests, probably eases her nerves a bit.

Exactly. We have to remember that this won't be her usual audience. She's gonna be performing for many people who would never go to a Madonna concert. That's got to make her a little nervous.Bringing in a few guests takes some of the pressure off her.

  10. Why are some people being so defensive?

We have heard 2 songs from the sessions, plus other things like 'Turn Up The Radio.' We have plenty of reason to believe the album is predominantly dance orientated too, so the notion that 'Masterpiece' doesn't fit the album is not that odd.

I don't see why ballads would be "out of place" on a dance-oriented album.Ray Of Light had plenty of uptempo,dance-oriented tracks and Madonna still found a way to include several ballads ("Mer Girl" is even slower than "Masterpiece").

  11. MASTERPIECE doesn't fit in the album? WOW, how many tracks have you heard? How can you conclude this early? Rumors? Haven't you heard of the rumor that there are FOUR BALLADS in the album? Don't you think it's a little premature to assume that MASTERPIECE doesn't fit in the new album? Have you heard the "BANG BANG" snippet? That is actually in the same vein as MASTERPIECE...

I agree.I can't see how any of us can say that it "doensn't fit the album" when we haven't even heard the other tracks yet.

  12. So GAYL is basically the leaked demo with minor changes. I predict a suicidal wave on January 15th. :chuckle:

I predict that it will have the same melody and lyrics, but the *sound* will be much different.I bet it will sound more hip-hop than the demo, which is more electro-pop.

  13. I think it's time ---> Black Madonna, cool, edgy & mysterious, and if the general public doesn't like it,fuck them, they don't know shit

She was planning to do this with Hard Candy and I think it would have been a great idea! Of course, some people would have got offended but there was a time when Madonna was so bold and wild that she didn't care about that.

  14. If the album does come out around March 25th (as the latest rumors have suggested), I could see a second single launching the record as GMAYL is likely going to be released by the end of January. However, that would be a different approach for Madonna than she has used before. Previously, she dumped virtually everything into the first single for a huge opening week and then gave modest (to very little) support to subsequent singles.

Yeah,it would be a different approach for Madonna but I think it would work.I don't want a repeat of the Hard Candy promotion, where she and Warners agressively promoted the first single, then lost interest in the subsequent singles. That kind of backwards thinking won't result in a hit album.Time for a new approach.
