  1. just came back from Maracana Stadium.

    the show was amazing and she was very nervous in the beginning, but as soon as she realized we weren't giving the rain any importance, she took the same attitute and performed a great show!

    WILD WILD WILD Crowd!!!!

    She was worried about us and before singing miles away, she asked us if we wanted her to leave and when 70000 said NO, she said that she was very happy to be here after 15 years.

    she felt touched by the fact that we had been standing under heavy rain since the this cold afternoon started.

    Although summer is coming next week and Rio is an icon of hot weather and nice beaches, the first show of the Sticky and Sweet Tour in Brazil has probably been the coldest one of this tour. It was freezing outside the stadium after the show and as you could see Madonna drastically changed sme of her outfits.

    Great that we have 2 shows scheduled here. Tomorrow we might see a more common show, because today's show was really different from others.

    * The moth on the screen could be seen as a black dot on the center screen.

    * The lasers efect with the rain were absolutely AMAZING!!! Hard to explain! Even Madonna got surprised!!!!!!!!!!

    * Devil Wouldn't Recgonize You and Like a Prayer also gained a different perspective with the rain...very beautiful.

    * She's Not Me and Heartbeat performances have been the damaged ones by the rain.

    Amazing!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

  2. Bon Jovi Scores 2008's Top-Grossing Tour

    Bon Jovi

    December 11, 2008 12:01 AM ET

    Ray Waddell, Nashville

    Bon Jovi's Lost Highway tour tops the list of the biggest tours for 2008, based on data reported to Billboard Boxscore from Nov. 14, 2007, through Nov. 11, 2008. The trek, promoted in North America and Europe by AEG Live, grossed $210.6 million and drew 2,157,675 fans.

    In second place is Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band's Magic tour, which grossed $204.5 million for the period. Springsteen reported another $31 million for last year, taking his two-year Boxscore total to more than $235 million.

    Rounding out the top 10 are Madonna ($162 million for the still-underway Sticky & Sweet tour), the Police ($150 million on the second leg of their reunion tour), Celine Dion ($91 million), Kenny Chesney ($86 million), Neil Diamond ($81.2 million), Spice Girls ($70 million), Eagles ($56.6 million) and Rascal Flatts ($55.8 million).

    The Spice Girls' 17 sellouts at the O2 Arena last December-January were the highest-grossing engagement of the year, taking in $33.8 million and drawing 256,647. Other top Boxscores for the year were Celine Dion at the Bell Centre in Montreal ($23.1 million), Madonna at Stade de France in Paris ($17.6 million), Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn. (about $17 million), and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. ($14.2 million).

    For the overall touring industry, grosses reported to Billboard Boxscore totaled slightly less than $4 billion worldwide, the most ever for a year and up almost 13% over last year.

    But global reported concert attendance is virtually flat, with 6% fewer shows. And North American concert attendance is down nearly 2%, after a nearly 20% decrease last year, continuing a troubling trend. Better news is evident on a show-by-show basis; the average box office gross in North America is up 18% and average attendance is up 6.3%, reflecting that some of the attendance decline can be attributed to a decrease in the overall show count.

    ................................................................................

    ................................................................................

    .

    ........................................

    $162 million of Sticky and Sweet from only 33 dates. Highest gross average per show than everyone because Bon Jovi tour 99 dates and Springsteen tour 100 dates.

    and from LIVENATION press release SS will end with 282 million if this is true , SS will be the real highest grossing tour of 2008 :thumbsup:

  3. You have to keep in mind that tickets in South America are cheaper(especially in Argentina, top priced ticket is 210 dollars).

    Argentine media reported that the first 2 shows in Buenos Aires grossed 10,000,000 dollars so i'm guessing the total gross for the 4 shows in Argentina is going to be very close to 20,000,000.

    ๋I agree ticket's price is important factor.

    Anybody know the average ticket's price of north america leg higher or lower than european leg ?

    Couldn't have said it better myself! She actually doens't even tour that much compards to other major acts, Rolling Stones, U2, and the like do multiple legs in teh same markets for some tour doing 100+ shows and still tour a few years later. Lets not forget she is doing STADIUMS in Europe. It's not like she isn't not selling out arenas. Even during Re-Invention she "only" sold 62,000 out or 70,000 tix for Slane Castle. It's amazing she can sell out any stadiums with prices she is charging. It's amazing. Also I think it's nice she is doing some different places like Seville & Valencia this time. New markets mean new opptunities for new fans to see her. It's not like those who really want to see her aren't going to travel from Madrid & Barcelona to see her! I mean seriously it's like going from Minnesota to Il, not a big deal. Lastly I think it's funny how a lot of people wanted her to do a fun tour because her tours were "too serious", now she is & those same people are still complaining. Anyways, Sticky & Sweet is fantastic & I couldn't be happier with everything I have seen regarding the show so far. I am much more excited for this one than I was for Confessions!

    :thumbsup::clap:

  8. :thumbsup:

    Well, I was there tonight at the opening night of the tour, and all I can say is this: she keeps surprising me all the time. Beautiful, strong voice and full of depth and soul in some sections, (especially when she sang ''You Must Love Me'') it almost brought me to tears. Then there was ''Like a Prayer'' that everyone raved about, and it was pretty good. She put a whole new spin on the song. Very well thought out show. Very diverse. Then there was the beautiful, exotic gypsy theme with the Romanian dancers, terrific stuff, and she did ''Borderline'' like I never expected. Guitar in hand and rockin' it out, same with ''Hung Up'. All I can say is, it was a show to remember, and what an experience.

    great :thumbsup::thumbsup:
