  1. agree completely - that was my instant concern and issue with the song. I still think the song is FINE but the production is just too cliche, dated Oakenfeld - at the end of the day. The sound of 1990 or so - that's now considered classic and worth revisting, but 1995-99 or so, is still as tired and non stimulating as it was in 2004 lol. This song sounds like it's right outta 1997 (a sound that still needs at least 5 more yrs to be somewhat cool and worth visiting again)!

oakenfold's sound was shit in 99 and still is in 09

progressive trance never disappeared either for it to be classic

it's always been used by forgettable dance acts across europe

    Not it's NOT pure Madonna...

it says more about you as a fan saying that than him hating on C..

have you even heard what you call "pure Madonna"? It's not 90's euroclub dated shit... that's for sure! and I don't get this "pure Madonna" thing about this song.. because it's not.

Pure Madonna is brilliant memorable pop music or her bringing something not so commercial and making it commercial.. something fresh and new or big and memorable.. atleast not dated

Celebration is neither fresh or anything memorable really..

    very true

i don't get the 'pure madonna' crap either

she got into electronic music post-evita

  2. Madonna's New Song: One Lazy 'Celebration'

Grab your glow sticks, bleach your spiky tips and ditch that tank top because Madonna's new single is here.

The title track from her greatest hits CD, "Celebration," has hit the ground running, and it's .. well ... super sassy. Madonna and DJ/producer Paul Oakenfold tag-teamed to form, what I think may be, her biggest piece of disco-trance trash.

It reeks of laziness and transcends the walls of boredom. I mean, I love a good diva dance hit as much as the next guy in tight jeans, but come on!

You go from a debut single like "4 Minutes" to this piece of stale-ass licorice? If this is any indication as to the direction of her next "actual" CD -- I say that in quotes because a greatest hits album doesn't count -- then I may pop my glow stick back in the freezer and wait for Kylie to hop back in the studio.

Take a listen and see if you agree with me!

  3. Where is this info from? I asked a D/VJ I know about it and he said the part about it hitting the clubs today (the 24th) is a rumor.

    in the official press release:

Several dance club remixes of “Celebration” are headed to the clubs on July 24th.

i assume "several" means we should hear more than the dub version we got

  4. I think to be fair to poor old Witters and her MOR album cover, she needed it to look simple, wholesome and to hark back to her 80's fresh faced period. It's not a BAD cover; it does the job. Of course there's no way Madonna would or should ever release something so bland.

Has the artist who designed the cover image for 'Celebration' designed the whole cover or just the head image. Because in the rather amateurish chin cropping and oddly placed title I DO rather SENSE the contribution of that italian named MONG who ruined the Confessions cover and pretty much everything else since American Life.

totally agree with u on that

the artwork is amazing, love it

the text and the crop however is amateurish

printing it textless with just a sticker on it would be better IMO

  5. neutrocks; do you know if this is a remix or not? Because it doesn't sound (what I can hear atleast) really like the 20 sec clip.. this sounds more clubby and dark while that one sounded.. ehm.. Cascada

you heard it in HQ so you must have heard if it was the same sound to it? So if it wasn't.. do you know it's a remix you heard?

    that's what i'm wondering too

the new leak sounds a whole lot better than the 20 sec

but maybe cause it's noisy and unclear?

i hated the 20 sec leak

    hope it'll be different

  6. im not judging, but i was always pleased that Madonna managed to stay away from that

euro-trash sound. I hope thats not what CALEBRATE is delivering..... :electropop:

    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

yeah that's what the clip delivers

i don't have a big problem with the lyrics and melody

i could live with them if the production was contemporary

this sound sucked ass 15 years ago and still does IMO

    we need an 'anti-celebrate' thread

  7. I really think if you appreciate this song (i know its only a small clip) then you are really short on good taste seeing as its absolutely SHIT :lmao: and to think this is the same woman that gave us Ray of Light and Music! dreadful.

Sorry but I don't think this song sounds very good. Immediately what springs to mind is a more dated version of bside 'History.'

even in 2005 this would still sound dated

i'd rather whine over no new song

than have this piece of shit tagged along with her classics
