  1. has a super bowl performance ever boosted a single or album sales?

A Nielsen PreView examination of SoundScan sales data for the previous four Super Bowl halftime acts reveals that they all enjoyed a significant boost in sales following their performances. And we're not talking about a simple one-week bump. All acts enjoyed a sales increase that lasted at least several weeks after the game.

  2. Because the new song would be promoted as the new single from her upcoming album, it would be a huge opportunity. Performing Celebration, on the other hand, is pointless.

I don't want Madonna to perform "Celebration".It's a weak song.....a flop single that most people have never heard. If she's gonna do a song about celebrating,it should be the superior, timeless "Holiday",a song that everyone knows.

    +1

with holiday/into the groove/music to choose from it'd be stupid if she went with celebration

  3. ^ that's a really nice article

in coming up with wishlist tracklist, do we know how many songs usually a half-time performance is allowed to do? or in minutes?

    u2/rolling stones/mj/prince all had about 12-14 minutes

they all sang 3-4 songs but prince did 6 i think cuz it was more of a medley

    she'll probably do 3..maybe 4 if we're lucky

  4. on a sidenote, even though this news has been getting negative feedback, we all know that madonna's performance (mostly, not all) will get almost unanimously good reviews. those sport jocks who never seen her perform will be wowed by her. but maybe that's my wishful thinking lol.

the negative feedback is predictable and i dn't really blame them

the last female pop singers to perform in this event were janet and fergie

both disappointed and a lot of these sports fans expect the same from m
