If the markets continue to fall, this cautionary tale will be a Clinton talking point going forward.

I was at the rally tonight in Brooklyn - such an amazing night - history - no matter the political misgivings some here espouse

I never said anything about Hillary's campaign being noble and you can trash her all you want, but Sanders himself said at the beginning he was going to run a "positive, issues-focused campaign." And now it's just become a pissy old man and his sore loser followers. My point in posting the article is to show that he's really just another politician with better rhetoric and a fan base that is becoming fanatical.
Hillary's a sneaky bitch, we know that. I am not even sure she cares that people think that about her. Bernie on the other hand was supposed to be this "above the fray" candidate. Now his campaign is proving he's not.
I have no illusions about Hillary and I have said that many times in here before. I don't believe her to be a perfect candidate. I am well aware she is more hawkish than Obama even (although he's no peace dove either), and I already know her Presidency will be scandal-plagued and her chance of being a 1-termer are probably greater than 50%. Why support her? Several reasons:
- She's helping Democrats down ballot which means the Senate will have a better chance of being majority Democrat after the election and that means at least 2 Supreme Court justices will be appointed. Bernie isn't helping anyone's campaign but his own.
- She supports enhancing or improving the Affordable Care Act (not repealing it).
- She supports raising taxes on people who earn over $5 million and raising capital gains taxes.
- She supports raising the estate tax.
- She is not likely to propose cuts to Medicare or Social Security, and she is advocating allowing Americans 55 and up to join Medicare early.
And no one goes into this wanting to be a one term president, so she will need to govern in her first term in such a way as to maintain the support of her base lest she be primaried in 4 years like Jimmy Carter was.

I went to see Hillary in New Jersey today. I am smitten.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for republicans their primaries are winner takes all. Right?
Some are, some aren't. It depend on the state and only for Republicans - Democrats don't do it that way anywhere. Tonight, AZ is winner take all; UT is only winner take all if the winner has more than 50% of the caucus vote. If it's less then 50%, it splits proportionally.

Maybe the Democratic turnout is low not because of lack of enthusiasm but because a lot of Democrats are fine with either candidate. I like both Hillary and Bernie. I really don't have a strong preference. I'm fine with either of them getting the nomination. It doesn't mean the people who don't vote the primaries won't turn out in the general election to vote Democratic.
Whereas in the Republican primary, there are a lot of Republicans who have a strong preference and really don't want some candidate to win and are saying they would never vote for him in a general election. There are the anti-Trump Republicans and Trump supporters who really dislike one of the other candidates, mostly Ted Cruz, largely because of the negative tone of the Republican campaign.
You are entirely correct on this front. Voter turnout in primaries is always low - so even that Republicans are having large turnout now, it's not as many people as will vote in November.
And as the media narrative for a year has largely been that Clinton is inevitable, Democrats don't have much impetus to vote - unless they are strongly in favor of one of the two. They are much more the same than they are different - and I will support whoever is the nominee come November - but like 8 years ago, Hillary will have my vote in the primary.

Yep she sucks and esp. the sheep who lick her fungus ridden toes in denial. Shes been around for 2500 years and I was always indifferent/meh about her but most def. was for her in 2008. Her only 'time' was 2004/08 and we all know it. For someone who is such an 'inevitable super woman' must have always been a 'reason' (something about her) it didn't happen but even more so x 100 now. Like, love or hate him..I absolutely get why Trump is killing it/them all now!
Let's take a moment and think about media bias and its impact. If you turn on MSNBC, they lament that voter turn out on Super Tuesday was low for Democrats but Republicans are bringing in record numbers. And the Democrats in their homes lose their shit. "Why can't we have someone popular run?" And then they show a Bernie rally clip with screaming kids who (as I predicted) don't turn up and vote. And then they labor on and on about the phenomenon of Trump - a phenomenon that wins everywhere with only about a third of the vote - and that is considered a phenomenon.
And what don't they say on MSNBC?
Who got the most votes out of any candidate on Super Tuesday?
Hillary Clinton with 3.5 million votes.
But, turn out is low for Democrats. And there's no enthusiasm on the Democratic side.
And Democrats continue to say she's not trust worthy.
Etc.
Because you, like so many, are eating out of Karl Rove's hands and don't realize it.
After all these years, you know exactly what you are getting with Hillary. She's predictable. That is the definition of trustworthy in politics. I'm with her.

I've been thinking, Bernie Sanders has a really good chance at getting the nomination. I know what the polls are saying, but a lot of those polls only include those who voted in the past two presidential elections. That means that people under 26 are not being counted. Millenials are one of his biggest demographics and Hillary seems to be getting nervous trying to be misleading and condescending about him and his positions/plans. People thought Hillary Clinton was inevitable in 2008 and that turned out to be very untrue. I think Bernie Sander's base and willingness to vote have been extremely underestimated and I'm started to seriously think he will become the 45th President of the United States.
I'm really looking forward to see what happens since it's a little more exciting than following the 2016 Australian General election haha
People under 26 vote in very small numbers - and even smaller in primaries - so this would be very difficult to imagine - no matter what the make up of his rallies. Though, you are correct that the polls definitely do not reflect the enthusiasm among this demographic. But are they even registered to vote?

U2 have cancelled their show for tomorrow which was to be broadcast on HBO -

The media is not reporting that because Hillary is still trouncing Sanders in every national poll. And as Ben Carson is now beating Trump in most polls, polls that show what would happen if two runner ups went head-to-head aren't news. Trump is waning. Carson and Rubio are ascending. Hillary remains front-runner everywhere except New Hampshire.

I told Guy's assistant that she should never have a center part as it ages her in January 2009 - and low and behold, they changed her hair for SS2 - I hoped it would never come back - but old tricks die hard - so glad they tested it off center again - she looks so much younger this way!

Unapologetic Bitch - Eddie from Brazil with freckles everywhere except one place - cue Madonna "except on your penis?" "How did I know that?" Took his shirt off - another muscle gay

She was not happy with the guys who kissed so she made them throw the bouquet back to her and she tried to throw it to someone else who couldn't manage to catch it so then she demanded it be given to the guy she intended it for

She did who's that girl then all the streams died and one came back for rebel heart - not sure if there was a song in between though there was certainly time for one - but she did a shot with someone from the "return of the front row bitches" and told Oksana who was previously one of the unapologetic bitches that she needs to change her dress before the LA show - and she was wearing a crown during rebel heart - but because of the break in streams, I don't know where it came from

I played hookie from school, took the bus to the mall, and bought the cassette. I still remember stalking through the book store looking longingly at the Sex book. I put the tape in my Walkman and listened to it on repeat for almost a year. Favorite album ever. I was 13. On November 12, I got my mom to return to the mall and buy Sex for me. I would not be deterred.
When the video premiered on midnight on a Friday, I'd been at church youth group so one of the Jesus freaks gave me and my sisters a ride home and came in to watch the video. He was appalled in every way. The sex. The nudity. The cross in lights. Of course, he was totally a self-loathing closet gay. Anyhow, I loved it and watched the video on repeat until dawn.
Those were the days.
Waiting. Rain. Thief of Hearts.

FYI - in 2011, the cost to rent an arena was $20,000 per night

If she weren't so creative (like Janet), she would make a lot more money (percentage wise) as the stage would just be rented -
-
She's stated that her show costs $1 million to produce - but not sure if that's for the three month rehearsal process - or just the cost to get the thing up and running in each venue - but for comparison, it costs $10 - $20 million to produce a Broadway musical - which is to say pay everyone, build the stage, build the sets, create costumes, rent lights, rent sound equipment, insurance, and publicity - and by comparison, that is a MUCH smaller undertaking than creating an arena show. For M, the lighting, sound and video equipment is all rented, as are barricades, etc, but the decking for the stage and the screens are custom built, as are the costumes (obviously) and set pieces. Then there's the cost to create the video backdrops, renting a sound stage for two months, renting Nassau Coliseum for a month, renting tour buses, tractor trailers to move everything, hotel rooms, feeding 200 people 3 meals a day (the 100 people on the tour and the 100 local people who come in to put the stage up and take it down), overtime surcharges when she starts the show late (yes, she pays a lot for that), security, her travel (as she doesn't do tour buses for herself), renting 4 planes to fly the stage and everything else from one continent to the next - easily $50 million if not more - as such, if there are 80 shows, it probably costs $80 million dollars or more
Here's the details from MDNA - does not include cost - but gives a sense of how many moving parts you're dealing with - http://www.tpimagazine.com/production-profiles/1594407/madonnas_mdna.html

http://radaronline.com/celebrity-news/madonna-tour-busses-torn-apart-drug-search-canadian-border/
Madonna is out for blood after some of her backup dancers drug use led to a thorough and costly search at the Canadian border!
“There was total drama on the Madonna tour Saturday night at the Canadian border,” a source exclusively told Radar.
“Dancers were caught smoking pot on tour bus — so the other five busses were torn apart by customs. The search took hours.”
PHOTOS: Long Lost Photos Of Madonna
Radar has reported previously that Madonna has been ruthlessly lording over her dancers during her Rebel Heart Tour, working them to the bone for meager pay.
It therefore came as no surprise that she did not react well to knows that her schedule had been ruined by wayward stoners.
“Madonna was furious,” a source revealed. “She was so p*ssed. There will be ramifications for those involved, if not from law enforcement, certainly from Madge herself!
“The delay will result in tens of thousands of dollars in extra expenses.”
It is not yet known if customs has charged any of the dancers in relation to the incident.

i've been curious about Maddiva too!
Madiva posted this long post on Facebook about changing priorities in her life and not wanting to spend money on costumes and tickets this round - lest anyone be disappointed that she wouldn't be at the tour (the ego). But she was at the second MSG show in her Girl Gone Wild getup
