I feel bad for Mariah's assistant.
Now that 4 minutes is #2 on iTunes Mariah probably has the woman sitting at a computer all day long puchasing Touch My Body over and over from Mariah's personal iTunes account.
Do you think if 4 Minutes hits #1 on iTunes that Mariah will call up Island/Def Jam and demand that the puchase price for Touch My Body get slashed down to 49 cents?

Don't forget sales from other sources! Holidayguy mentioned to me that 30% of sales come from Real, Amazon, etc...where is it #1.

things will be looking really good if we see 4M leading TMB by start of Thursday... if she leads for 4 days until SUNDAY and that second version show persistence and don't fade away, we will see a mind-blowing sales figure for 4MINUTES on APRIL 2...
Warner should release the video on March 31st. instead of April 7th.
It looks like they are more interested in having Madonna have an extended Top 10 stay on the Hot 100 rather than having her #1.
Having her hit #1 in the US would send a far stronger message though. even if it's only for 1 week

that chart is updated a lot faster than the chart on itunes itself.
just be sure to change the number in the url as stated and make sure the times on the chart itself are current

Less then 24 hours later she only rose to #3! And if not for the other 2 versions she has on itunes charting at #24 and #100 she would ONLY be at #1 by now!

M will be in the Top 10 in a matter of hours and then hopefully #1!
When that happens the lambs will panic and start buying their 30th copy each of MOO's song.
I'm very angry with Warner Brothers though.
Had they let radio play the song after the original french radio lake and then still released the song yesterday for digital download along with the music video then Madonna would have a shot of hitting #1 on billboard and blocking MOOriah.

where are people getting these itunes charts at?
I googled and i found a top 100 itunes chart but it doesn't have madonna at #64 on the chart yet so it is obviously not updated fast enough.
Plus someone said she was at #106 earlier and now at #64....
Where can I get this chart?

Question: So, let's say 4M debuts next week on Billboard Hot 100. I'll be optimistic and say at No. 35 (I know nothing about what factors into this determination other than based on the Mediabase chart, I think she could be at 35 on that chart after a week of airplay). This would be due to airplay only.
I'm pretty sure the first 2 days of downloads(March 24th - March 25th) will be factored into next week's chart position although I don't know for sure.

How did they hurt the song's chance at #1? Ofcourse they wont do payolla.
I already explained.
They should have let Radio play the song right after the French radio leak weeks ago.
They hurt the song by not letting enough airplay happen before people can purchase the song.
The song was offically released to US radio March 17th and will be able to be downloaded March 24th from iTunes in the US.

Well that's just a tad disheartening. I thought Madonna had actually hit a chord with MTV's younger crowd. That explains why other TRL Queens like Mariah Carey & Kelly Clarkson actually had albums that sold 3-5 million copies to go along with their #1 TRL videos. I always wondered why Madonna only sold 1.6 million of COADF despite having 2 #1 songs on TRL.
Maybe it is a little sad BUT...
The fact that that little application got Hung Up to #1 helped encourage more Madonna fans to actually vote on TRL which did really help Sorry.(because there was not voter program for Sorry)
And it probably helped the album sell a few thousand more copies in the US than it would have if not for the success on TRL.
Look at it that way.

I'm sorry but you're setting up unrealistic expectations, and I think that's bad.
It will be wonderful if it tops at #11, it's a hit if it enters the Top 40 and i'll be happy about that, but #1? I don't even know what to say to that. I know miracles exist, but I'm not exactly counting on one and neither should anybody.

4 Minutes is much more US Radio aimed than Hung Up was AND there is an extra built in huge fanbase for the song because of Timberlake and Timbaland.
It's not unrealistic to say that 4 Minutes has a shot at #1 in the US(although Warner did kind of hurt the song's chance at #1)

I remember voting every single day for HU, several times a day.
I remember clicking a button on a program on my computer and getting in over 10,000 votes a day for the video before I shut my computer down at night.

The MOOriah fansite mariahdaily has a pathetic "download contest" for which lamb will download her song the most times. They are even giving out prizes! My guess is the Island/Def Jam contacted the website and offered the prizes.
It's so pathetic the measures Mariah will go to to get as many #1's as possible.
I emailed the webmaster of mariahdaily and didn't even bring up that I'm a madonna fan but told them I thought their contest was lame and unfair and that pathetic measures like that and payola explain why Mariah has 17 #1's in the US.
