  1. Agreed on Hollywood (although I love it) but Die Another Day was her last big airplay single stateside (not counting 4 Minutes) so it does deserve a spot on here. Plus I really think it's a fantastic song, personally.

What's wrong with Sorry though? That song was another worldwide smash for her (not counting the USA of course).

Nothing wrong with it per se. But wouldn't you agree it sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the others? Anyway, it doesn't matter as the rest of the CD is fucking FABULOUS. :wow:

  2. My heart was racing as I was scanning through the tracklist and when I didn't find it I had to do a DOUBLE TAKE before I could breathe easy. smileylool.gif

    For real. rotfl.gif

:lmao: American Life is finally FORGOTTEN.

That 20 minutes or so on CD 2, from Tracks 10 to 14 will be a bit of a DRAG. But Live To Tell will sparkle even brighter after those DUDS, even if it is unnecessarily hidden at the end of the second disc.

And :lmao: at how she's AGAIN trying to cement DAD and Hollywood's legacy. It's not going to happen.

But CD1, bar the inclusion of Sorry, is arguably the STRONGEST greatest hits single disc in decades.

  3. I have a friend who works at hmv in the uk.

He told me today that the company are tipping this to be THE bed selling release in the uk this year.

He said they have been told warner uk and m will be doing lots of promotion unlike the hard candy project.

He compared the buzz around this release amongst retail is like ROL when they knew they had a winner.

Nothing new here but just wanted to say retailers are excited about this

If this turns out to be true, WOW WOW WOW

  4. From 01.35: "As a special present, I want to give you the world exclusive of the brand new Madonna single"... Remix or not, whatever it is, it sounds FUCKING FANTASTIC.

Part two of this video is what's been posted on the first page of the Pacha thread a couple of days back. This is the missing intro

  5. An INTERESTING video. I always thought Pacha, one of the biggest clubs in the world, was a lot BIGGER then this. Unless Oakenfold was playing one of the smaller rooms for whatever reason.

If they were "testing" the crowd, they seem pretty unimpressed. Unless they are completely monged out. Or it's a bad recording.

Anyway, I think this sounds FANTASTIC. Shall we presume the aforementioned "Benny Benassi" remix of Celebration is in fact some kind of Oakenfold deviation of the album version which has been mislabelled? They'd be no other reason for ol' Paul to be playing other people's versions of his song, no matter how superior the production. I know a few others here have thought this, notably Danny_86. It's quite logical; an uninformed fan would guess this remix is pretty close to the album version, yet others in the "know" still talk about a hallowed "album edit which is completely different to the clips that have leaked".

  6. I just read on last.fm that the album version of Celebration is going to premiere on BBC Radio tonight. Can we get any conformation of this?

Can you post the link or quote the exact source?

The dub of Celebration was played on Pete Tong's show last night.

If the album version were to premiere on the BBC, it would be Radio 1. Tonight, Trevor Nelson and Westwood have shows, both are RnB/Hip-hop shows so I doubt it will be tonight.

  7. Is that real? If so where is 4 and 5 lol. I love it though

Not sure if they're "real" but they're popping up sporadically from different sources.

:lmao: at how blatant they are being in CULLING the ugly fans. I like their honesty.

  9. JLS perfect for the DSS record buying public

No, I won't have that. This is a pretty decent song, though lyrically abysmal. These sales are crazy, well above any expectation. I support JLS for being social trailblazers - they're the first UK black band in chart history to make a legion of white teen girls WET. I don't know any of their names but a couple of them look ABSOLUTELY FUCKABLE in the video to this song. One has a really nice face, another has fantastic arms. A DESERVED #1.

Is this the first time a B-side has made the Top Ten? And massive sales for #1

  11. Don't we all, dear? I think they have a special type of remote where it monitors what's being watched and then who exactly is watching (ie. one button for Braby, one for Mr. Braby, one for Mrs. Braby etc.). No, they don't get paid for it, they may receive gift vouchers and so on but not monetary payment. Unfortunately you can't request to be a panel member, they're selected by BARB.

In such a fractured and increasingly niche digital market there's an argument that BARB data is now out of date (with each household being representative of 5k viewers, one person not watching a small digital channel can have a huge effect). Surely there's a more reliable technical solution on the way?

I never realised their sample pool was a PITIFUL 11,000. Now you have pointed that out, next time I see "Britain's Got Talent attracts 20.1 million", I'll take it with a pinch of salt.

  12. ^ Though that's one of his more informed reviews, Alex Macpherson has always been a WHINEY CUNT.

See he has REMOVED his FUG face from his profile page at The Guardian's website too. One of the few columnists to do so. Says a lot.

Even Badisha has her mug shot on PROUD DISPLAY and she is no oil painting.

  13. It's all smoke and mirrors (and I don't really have a great amount of faith in it). Essentially there are around 5,100 households (11,000 individuals) who are, statistically, representative of the viewing public. It's these 5,100 households' viewing habits that are monitored their figures are then extrapolated to represent the nation's.

But how do they get them? Are their remotes wired up and every time they change the channel it's logged? Presume they get paid for this? I want my viewing habits monitored!

  14. Watched by 254,000 or a 1.6% total share.

That's disappointing, especially as I've just read Saturday night saw the biggest multi-channel share in television history.

What with the heavy promotion, I was expecting three times as many as that figure. Sky did all they could, it was a decent broadcast and the amount and length of commercial breaks wasn't too bad. Not to forget the FABULOUS break bumpers with the Matalan girls.

Seems Madonna isn't a big televisual attraction anymore.
