I've been fully vax since May, will get booster sometime this month or next month.

Idk if it's been discussed much here, but how do we feel about the mandatory vax mandates Biden put in place? Apparently a judge has placed it on hold for now as (not surprisingly) the lawsuits arguing it's against Constitutional rights are piling up. Numbers are showing the mandate seems to be working though......whether that's the mandate or just the natural progression of the virus is arguable I suppose. I'd say it's prob a little of both.

I’m for the mandates. We are in an ongoing worldwide health crisis and need strong leadership and guidance.

I received my second dose of Pfizer on April 28th. Just gave me a peace of mind to be fully vaccinated.

It felt great to be able to run or bike outside without a ridiculous mask. I still prefer not to have a stranger breathing down my neck in the subway:laugh:

Yes, I’m still trying to get use to being in public especially public transportation. Working on my social anxiety but with my mask on.

I finally got my first shot yesterday! Just felt a little more tired than usual and I did have some of the skin on my arm seeming to have an allergic reaction. Was lucky that it went away in under two hours. My second shot is schedule for April 28th.

Good luck to everyone and their loved ones receiving their vaccines!!

    Congrats!

just had my 2nd Moderna shot. So far very sore arm just a couple hrs after my shot. Hope that’s all it is but I expect this bitch will make herself felt.

I just got my first dose of Moderna a few days ago.

No real side effects except a little soreness next day at injection site...and I had a slight headache that evening, but I've already been dealing with a little sinus issue (and I already normally get migraines), so it kind of felt like it may have slightly increased what I was already dealing with. By the next morning, I felt fine.

    Moderna sisters ❌

same no side effects besides sore arm that crept up later that night and into the next day, but other than that was fine.

With regards to the article, several people I know who had the virus had mild symptoms as described after the first dose. My friend had flu like symptoms for about 2 days and my co-worker had fatigue and body aches for about a day. I’m a little worried about the 2nd dose but praying for the best.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Hope all is well now. You will have the second dose next month? Did you have a choice of which vaccine you wanted or you need to take the one offered? I hear  Moderna is more effective even with new variants of the virus.

NY/NJ the vaccine roll out has been a bit of a mess. We don't have enough vaccines as previously thought and they closed vaccination sites. I hope  personal doctors will be able to administer the vaccine because I really don't want to get my vaccine at the local bodega.

  6. I'm a teacher and I'm terrified to go back to work. I work in a low income community that was a covid hot spot. My district wants to reopen with in person instruction. It will be impossible to teach Kindergarten with all the restrictions in place. I have called out my local union publicly because they have gone silent, but with the fuss I caused the other day they agreed to a meeting. They were able to hear all of our concerns and the president of the union has stated to the governor that schools are not ready to open in the fall. Even if they do a hybrid schedule, I  will have to teach kids in person and virtually at the same time. I can't imagine that working at all. It will not be possible to follow our current curriculum the way it is if students must social distance and not work in groups. Teachers are resigning and retiring early that's how bad it has become. I don't know what to do other than keep speaking out and making my concerns heard. Parents in the district are refusing to bring their children back to school so hopefully the school board hears them as well. I wish I knew the plan or have idea of what they have in mind in order to list my grievances.
